42: Thunder Sweep! A New Wave!

Half a month later, northern Sunset Plain.

“Rumble…”

A steel torrent composed of two thousand Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard was galloping across the vast plain.

They were clad in azure armor shining with electric light, and their warhorses seemed to be bathed in thunder, with the sound of wind and thunder accompanying their flying hooves.

Their lances were like a forest, their tips spitting dangerous electric arcs, and the entire formation resembled a moving thundercloud, exuding a suffocating sense of oppression.

Huo Jun led the charge, his war lance pointed diagonally forward, his usually gentle face now filled with a murderous aura.

“Goblin patrol detected ahead, approximately one hundred Wolf Cavalry!” The scout cavalry in front reported swiftly.

“Thunderous Charge!” Huo Jun did not hesitate, pointing his war lance forward and issuing the charge command.

“Boom—!!!”

Two thousand cavalry simultaneously urged their mounts, like a thunderous river breaking its banks, sweeping towards the panicked Goblin wolf cavalry squad!

Iron hooves and lances covered in lightning easily tore through the Goblin’s crude leather armor and shields.

The moment of contact resulted in overturned riders and mounts, broken bones and severed tendons! In the path of the charge, the residual electrostatic field paralyzed the lucky Goblins who weren't immediately killed, only for them to be mercilessly trampled by the subsequent iron hooves!

In just one encounter, the Wolf Cavalry squad dispatched by Kag, intended to harass and delay, completely vanished from the plain, leaving behind only a messy heap of shredded flesh and remains.

This was just the beginning...

In the following days, Huo Jun led this unprecedentedly powerful Azure Thunder Cavalry, combing the northern Sunset Plain again and again like a fine-toothed comb.

A Goblin outpost, still attempting to organize its defenses, was directly pierced through by a Thunderous Charge, with the subsequent Vortex Flow Blade sweeping the remaining resistors into the eye of the storm, tearing them to shreds.

A small Goblin tribe hidden in a mountain hollow, having just discovered traces of human cavalry, was leveled by a massive crescent of lightning from a Thunderous Mountain Severing Strike descending from the sky.

Facing sporadic arrow harassment, the cavalry didn't even need to actively defend; the air currents stirred up by the Hurricane Barrier could easily deflect them, while also slowing down enemies attempting to approach.

Efficient, deadly, unstoppable!

Wherever the Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard passed, Goblin strongholds were eradicated, tribes were destroyed, and scattered groups were annihilated.

The Wolf Cavalry, on whom Grom had placed great hopes, sent out to carry out harassment missions, didn't even get a chance to approach the main force before being fragmented, hunted, and wiped out.

News spread back to the Goblin King City like snowflakes.

“Report! Kag’s First Wolf Cavalry has lost contact!”

“Report! North Wind Outpost destroyed! All defenders annihilated!”

“Report! Blackrock Tribe… The Blackrock Tribe is gone! It was flattened by human cavalry!”

“Report! Commander! Those human cavalry… they’re too fast! Too strong! Our Wolf Cavalry can’t stop them at all! They’re approaching the King City!”

Grom stood on the high tower, his face ashen, his fists clenching with a cracking sound. In just half a month, his two thousand elite Wolf Cavalry were almost completely lost, and the northern defensive strongholds were swept clean.

Those human cavalry were like a persistent illness, clearing one area and immediately pouncing on the next, their speed so great that he couldn't even organize any effective interception.

He had originally intended to personally lead troops out of the city to teach them a lesson once he had figured out the humans' strength.

But now, looking at the increasingly alarming intelligence brought back by the scouts, and the enemy strongholds being erased one by one on the map, cold sweat beaded on his forehead.

Two thousand… at least two thousand heavy cavalry of Tier 4 or above, possessing lightning power!

And, who can tell me why heavy cavalry can still have such a fast charge speed? This is completely illogical!

Such a number of powerful cavalry was already enough to break his infantry phalanx in a frontal battle!

Even his proud King City Guard, if they were to charge against such a cavalry force on the plain, would likely face a grim fate.

“Issue the order!” Grom’s voice was hoarse, carrying a trace of imperceptible fear, “Close all city gates! All units, garrison inside the city! Heighten vigilance! No one is to leave the city without my command!”

He stared intently north, as if he could see the raging thundercloud.

“Damn humans… you just wait! When King Bashaka returns… he will surely tear you to pieces!”

At this moment, Grom no longer possessed his previous confidence.

He could only choose to tightly close the city gates, hunker down within the King City, and pray that King Bashaka could resolve the Elf situation quickly and return to rescue them.

The Goblin King City, this once arrogant city, felt the cold and powerful threat from outside its walls for the first time.

The scales of war, silently, had already begun to tip.

........

The war on the Sunset Plain, like a stone thrown into a lake, its ripples spread at a speed far exceeding Su Jin’s expectations...

The Infinite City army’s conquest of Greystone Keep, and the subsequent glorious achievements of Huo Jun leading two thousand Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard to sweep the northern plain, resounded like thunder across the vast region surrounding the Sunset Plain.

“Have you heard? Greystone Keep, the Goblin’s largest stronghold in the north, was taken by the Infinite City!”

“More than just taken! It’s said that even that ‘Sword Saint’ Ugluk was instantly killed by the Infinite City Lord with one move!”

“Really? That’s one of the most skilled experts among the Goblins!”

“Absolutely true! My cousin’s brother-in-law’s caravan just returned from there and saw it with their own eyes! The Infinite City’s army is too strong!”

“There’s something even more incredible! The Infinite City sent two thousand heavy cavalry who swept through all the territory north of the Goblin King City! Those Goblin wolf cavalry shattered on impact!”

“Hiss… Two thousand heavy cavalry? And they have lightning? What exactly is the Infinite City’s origin?”

“I heard that the Goblin army in the King City doesn’t even dare to go out anymore.”

“How is that possible? You know, even when the Elf were so strong back then, they couldn’t do this. Can humans really do it?”

“If you don’t believe it, you can go to the Goblin King City and see for yourself…”

Similar news spread rapidly through various human settlements, refugee camps, and even the mouths of some daring merchant caravans.

Fear and despair had shrouded this land for too long; any glimmer of news about human victory would be infinitely amplified, becoming a torch in the darkness.

And Infinite City, this name that had risen abruptly in a short time, was completely etched into everyone’s hearts.

What followed was a tide of people...

They carried anticipation, bewilderment, and also hope, like trickling streams, converging into a gradually growing human tide, surging towards the Infinite City banner fluttering in the wind…
