84: Crush!

Almost at the exact moment Bai Xiao and Ka Mountain clashed, the battle on the other side of the field had already erupted.

The two nine-rank vice-captains of the Spider Squad consisted of one who wielded twin blades, his figure swift and elusive; the other was burly and specialized in frontal assaults.

They faced Zhui Yun and Stone Rock, respectively.

A battle-axe, shimmering with dazzling psionic energy, cleaved towards Stone Rock with the force of splitting mountains and shattering rocks.

“Haha, eat my shield!”

Stone Rock roared, not dodging, and thrust his Lava Greatshield forward.

“Clang!”

The battle-axe struck the shield with a heavy blow.

A loud explosion ripped across the battlefield.

A violent shockwave spread outwards, kicking up dust from the ground.

The nine-rank Three-Eyed Race felt a tremendous force rebound, cracking his tiger’s mouth, numbing his arms, and almost making him drop his battle-axe.

What terrified him even more was that on the surface of Stone Rock’s shield, crimson lava flames burned fiercely, and a scorching heatwave assaulted him; the psionic energy on his axe blade was rapidly melted away by the Lava Shield.

Even the axe blade itself began to emit faint creaking sounds, as if it were about to be twisted by the high temperature.

At this moment, Stone Rock seized the opportunity when the opponent’s old strength was exhausted, and new strength had not yet emerged.

“Resonance Shield Strike!”

He suddenly thrust his Lava Greatshield forward.

The runes engraved on the shield surface glowed brightly, and an invisible energy converged in front of him.

“Buzz!”

An invisible shockwave emanated from the greatshield, pushing forward violently and instantly hitting the nine-rank Three-Eyed Race.

The Three-Eyed Race felt a powerful blunt force penetrate his protective psionic energy, directly impacting his body.

He grunted, a metallic sweetness rising in his throat.

His body was thrown backward uncontrollably, as if struck by an invisible giant hammer.

In mid-air, the clear sound of bones shattering could be heard.

“Bang!”

A dull thud sounded.

He crashed heavily onto the ground dozens of meters away, creating a shallow pit in the hard wasteland and kicking up a large cloud of smoke.

As the smoke dissipated, the Three-Eyed Race warrior twitched a few times, blood mixed with fragments of internal organs gushing from his mouth, clearly indicating he would not survive.

Stone Rock slammed his greatshield onto the ground with a muffled “thud.”

He grinned, his honest laughter carrying a hint of wildness: “Ha, so weak, not even enough to polish my shield.”

On the other side, the vice-captain wielding twin blades transformed into afterimages, moving left and right, attempting to quickly flank and approach Zhui Yun.

In his opinion, an archer, once engaged in close combat, was a lamb to the slaughter.

“Trying to get close?” Zhui Yun sneered, his Wind-Thunder Longbow already drawn to a full moon.

Azure-blue electrical sparks crackled on the bow, and a sharp aura locked onto the front.

Eagle Eye Lock!

An almost imperceptible invisible fluctuation instantly landed on the rapidly moving vice-captain.

It was as if an invisible eagle’s eye had opened in the void, taking in his every move.

“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!”

Almost at the moment the mark was completed, three arrows, imbued with wind and thunder energy, had already left the string.

The arrows formed a triangular formation, tearing through the air with sharp whistles, moving at extreme speed.

Only three faint azure-blue afterimages were left in the air, aimed directly at the vice-captain’s vital points!

The vice-captain’s heart screamed in warning the instant the arrows left the string, and his hair stood on end.

He twisted his body with all his might, his twin blades dancing impenetrable, trying to block and dodge.

However, he was horrified to discover that no matter how he changed direction or accelerated, the three arrows clung to him like maggots to bone, locking onto him relentlessly.

The angles of the arrows became increasingly tricky, blocking all his escape routes.

Guaranteed hit!

Armor penetration!

Critical strike!

“Clang!”

With the first loud clang, his right-hand blade was struck hard, a massive force making his arm bone feel like it would shatter, and the blade hummed incessantly, almost slipping from his grasp.

He was greatly alarmed; the power of these arrows far exceeded his imagination!

“Clang!”

Close behind, the second arrow arrived, precisely striking the blade surface he had used to block with his left hand.

This time, it wasn't just power, but also a terrifying armor-piercing effect; several cracks appeared on the blade surface, and an azure-blue electric light flashed and vanished.

“Puff!”

The third sound was faint but fatal.

He twisted his body with all his might, but still couldn't completely avoid it.

The arrow grazed his ribs, tearing through his armor and flesh, deeply embedding itself in his left chest.

Intense pain struck him, and he grunted, his rapidly moving figure suddenly halting.

The myriad blade shadows dissipated…

The Three-Eyed Race vice-captain staggered a few steps, his twin blades weakly propped on the ground, supporting his tottering body.

He gasped for air, blood continuously gushing from the wound in his left chest, staining his armor.

He struggled to look up, his eyes filled with terror and unwillingness, gazing at the stern-faced archer.

Zhui Yun’s lips curled into a cruel arc, his longbow already drawn.

At this moment, the arrow nocked on the bowstring was entirely entwined with visible azure-blue electric snakes, emitting crackling explosive sounds, and a destructive aura began to permeate the air.

“No…”

The vice-captain’s pupils constricted—that was—

Thunder Arrow Rain!

Zhui Yun released the string.

The arrow, imbued with terrifying wind and thunder energy, shot into the sky, then exploded with a roar in his despairing gaze!

“Boom! Boom! Boom!—!”

In an instant, the sky seemed to be torn open.

Innumerable dense lightning arrows poured down, covering an area of tens of meters centered on the vice-captain.

Lightning flashed wildly, and thunder roared.

Every lightning arrow carried the power to destroy everything.

The already heavily injured vice-captain was completely engulfed by the dense lightning storm before he could even let out a scream.

When the lightning dissipated, only a scorched deep pit remained, along with a few wisps of lingering smoke.

Not a trace of his body was left.

Zhui Yun slowly lowered his Wind-Thunder Longbow, the azure-blue light on the bow gradually fading.

“Next.”

He spoke faintly, his gaze already cast towards the other Spider Squad members on the battlefield.

Stone Rock and Zhui Yun’s battles against opponents of the same rank were so overwhelming!

......

And those previously inconspicuous Spirit Pivot Sword Envoys now displayed astonishing combat power.

A female sword envoy, relatively petite with a delicate face, was confronting a Three-Eyed Race warrior who was at least twice her size.

The Three-Eyed Race man’s muscles were bulging, and his broad, thick hand gripped a heavy hammer shimmering with cold metallic light.

The vertical eye on his forehead now looked disdainfully at the “enemy” before him.

In his opinion, this little girl, with her thin arms and legs, would likely be reduced to nothing but a pulp with one hammer blow.

“Hey, little one, your mommy’s calling you home for dinner!”

The Three-Eyed Race man grinned, revealing his stark white teeth, his voice coarse and grating.

“Running into your grandpa, Barton, means you’re out of luck!”

He introduced himself, seemingly believing it would increase the opponent’s fear.

“Watch me smash you into a pretty pile of meat!”

Barton roared, his arm muscles suddenly bulging, and the heavy hammer in his hand whipped up a foul wind, bringing a sharp whistle as it slammed down hard on the female sword envoy’s head.

Under the hammer’s wind, the female sword envoy’s hair was blown back, and she parted her red lips slightly.

“Mind Unleashed.”

Immediately following, brilliant spiritual light surged from her, spreading outwards like a tide.

A set of light purple sword armor, starkly different from her gentle demeanor, imbued with a hint of lethal sharpness, rapidly materialized.

A faint purple halo covered her face, leaving only a pair of focused eyes, in which a cold glint flashed and vanished.

The wind still whistled in her ears, and the shadow of the heavy hammer had already fallen over her head.

Yet, the female sword envoy neither dodged nor retreated; her footsteps shifted lightly, and the slender longsword in her hand, moving later but arriving first, traced an incredible trajectory.

“Ding!”

A soft chime.

Barton’s sinister grin instantly froze.

He looked down, only to see that his giant hammer had been pierced at some unknown point, and a section of a sword tip, shimmering with a faint purple glow, had silently pressed against his throat.

“You…” He only managed to utter one word before the female sword envoy’s wrist moved slightly, and the sword tip had already passed through his throat.

Similar scenes unfolded in various corners of the battlefield.

These Spirit Pivot Sword Envoys, meticulously trained by Su Jin, experienced a surge in strength after activating “Mind Unleashed,” almost completely overwhelming the ordinary Spider Squad members.

The initially aggressive Spider Squad, after Bai Xiao slew Ka Mountain, and Stone Rock, Zhui Yun, and the Spirit Pivot Sword Envoys made their powerful moves, had already reached the brink of collapse.

This hunt, targeting top hunters, was destined from the very beginning.
