21: Single-core brain

The enemy on the eaves, seeing the headless corpse of his buddy below, hesitated for a moment before ultimately choosing to avoid confrontation.

His position offered no cover, while the opponent was holed up inside the house, shooting through the gaps in the wooden planks. This was utterly unfair.

Actually, based on where his first shot landed, he was 70% confident that the second shot would hit Liu Yan.

After all, he and Liu Yan fired almost simultaneously, and Liu Yan's shot didn't hit him.

In other words, in the next gunfight, he knew where to aim when shooting at Liu Yan, but Liu Yan didn't know how to aim at him.

However, a heart-wrenching scream from one buddy and the headless corpse of another had completely overwhelmed him with fear.

Clearly, this was also part of Liu Yan's plan: psychological warfare!

Bang — — —!!!!

The enemy on the eaves had just stood up when a bullet hole appeared exactly where he had been a second ago!

"No, I can't die, this gun was bought with a loan!"

Seeing this, the enemy completely panicked and quickly ran to the left.

Bang — — — —!!!!

"Hmm? A feint? Interesting."

Liu Yan, behind the sniper scope, was first startled, then showed a confident smile.

The enemy seemed to be an experienced sniper; after making a move to the left, he quickly turned and ran to the right.

"Let me guess, where will you appear next?"

Saying this, Liu Yan aimed his crosshairs below the eaves, near the ground.

The enemy on the eaves couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when he saw where the second bullet landed.

"Hmph, I haven't paid off my loan yet, don't even think about taking my beloved sniper rifle!"

Saying this, the enemy even gave Liu Yan the middle finger.

Liu Yan waited two seconds, seeing no movement from the other side.

"Oh? Does he want to wait for me to shoot first?"

"Zhao Chuang, pull the trigger," Liu Yan said calmly.

Zhao Chuang's intelligence wasn't enough to let him think that much; if Brother Yan said pull the trigger, he would pull it!

Bang — — — — —!!

"Ah!!!! You motherfucker! You shot me in the foot!!!" Fuji screamed heartbreakingly.

And just as the gunshot rang out, the enemy instinctively performed a forward roll, tumbling off the eaves.

During his freefall, he also realized something was wrong... that gunshot just now... it wasn't the same sniper rifle!

Bang — — — —!!!!!!

The familiar sniper rifle shot rang out again.

Just as the enemy was about to land, his head exploded.

His airborne body was also sent flying several meters backward by the powerful impact, twitching a few times before falling silent... Inside the classroom.

"All of this... he planned it?"

The students recalled Liu Yan's initial teaching.

One could only say that Liu Yan was indeed a top expert in delta operation.

An exposed enemy, once alerted, could still struggle for so long.

If Liu Yan had chosen to kill him first, then the people behind cover would have had too many options.

At that point, the outcome would have been hard to say.

"Why did Zhao Chuang shoot his buddy in the foot just now?"

"I don't know, maybe he's used to giving pedicures?"

"What the hell do you mean 'used to giving pedicures'? That was clearly an accidental discharge!"

Longbow Stream Valley.

Inside the houses now, Fuji was still wailing incessantly.

Zhao Chuang, beside him, was flustered like a child who had made a mistake.

No! He literally was!

"Brother... Brother... Brother Ji, I really didn't do it on purpose..."

"Stop bullshitting, hand me the surgical kit!"

Fuji quickly pulled out a painkiller from his chest rig, his hands trembling as he popped the pill into his mouth, which finally eased the pain.

"Here."

Liu Yan, having put away his sniper rifle, handed the surgical kit and first aid kit to Fuji.

Seeing this, Zhao Chuang quickly took the surgical kit and roughly began to use it on Fuji.

"Hmm?" Liu Yan narrowed his eyes.

In the Third District, you can also help buddies with surgery?

He needed to remember this information; it might have unexpected effects in future battles.

After the treatment was complete, Fuji moved his foot around while asking Zhao Chuang, puzzled:

"I say, buddy, how the hell did you manage to shoot me in the foot?"

Zhao Chuang scratched his head awkwardly, his expression a bit embarrassed.

Liu Yan had told him to pull the trigger, not to shoot.

So, Zhao Chuang, holding the gun, pulled the trigger the moment he received the command.

"So, when I said pull the trigger, you really just pulled the trigger once?" Liu Yan asked.

Zhao Chuang nodded vigorously.

This gave Liu Yan a new understanding of how to utilize Zhao Chuang.

Clearly, Zhao Chuang was a typical single-core brain, unable to process complex instructions.

Next time, he would just need to use clearer instructions, such as:

Raise weapon, fire.

Hmm... perhaps he also needed to add a line about avoiding friendly fire, otherwise, headshotting Fuji would be a joke.

"Alright, let's head to Galbi Ruins first to loot the packages."

Liu Yan said, pulling out the mandel brick from his pocket.

After opening the mandel brick, he put on the power propulsion device around his waist, to the astonished gazes of the two.

The tiger squat cannon was slung over his back.

At this moment, Liu Yan suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, Brother Ji, where's your mandel brick? What's inside?" Liu Yan looked at Fuji.

"Sold it," Fuji said as a matter of course.

Upon hearing this, Liu Yan felt his breath catch!

"Sold it?!"

"How much did you sell it for?"

Fuji held up two fingers in a scissor gesture.

Liu Yan asked suspiciously.

"Two hundred million?"

Fuji's pupils constricted when he heard that number, then he shook his head blankly, his face completely devoid of hope.

"What?! You sold it for only twenty million?!" Liu Yan exclaimed incredulously.

Fuji cried out in despair:

"Two million!!! Nobody told me that thing was worth so much!!!"

At this point, Liu Yan was completely speechless.

If it were a mandel brick in a game, it would be fine.

But this place was different! The mandel brick here was used to acquire operator equipment!

One had to know that the equipment of different operators was crucial to the outcome of a battle.

For example, with the Bee Doctor's healing gun, he wouldn't even need to bring medicine every time he entered.

And he could heal himself at any time during combat.

Then there was Red Wolf's Powered Exoskeleton, with its powerful running speed and the mobility provided by the slide tackle.

Of course, the slide tackle brought by the Powered Exoskeleton was rather dispensable for Liu Yan.

When Liu Yan was doing the motion capture for Red Wolf's slide tackle, he didn't have such a rare item as a Powered Exoskeleton.

"Why didn't you ask me before you sold it? How can something like this be measured by price?" Liu Yan reprimanded helplessly.

"Damn it, when we get out, I'm going to find that person!" Fuji said, gritting his teeth in resentment.

Something that could sell for two hundred million was only given two million? Fuji thought to himself.

Fortunately, Fuji didn't voice his thoughts, otherwise, Liu Yan might have died of anger on the spot.

"Alright, no time to lose, let's get moving." Liu Yan patted Fuji's shoulder in comfort.
