303: Plans for Tears of the Ocean

After parting ways with the Boss this time, I didn't see him again for a very long time.

This world was already almost devoid of human life.

If you really counted, the remaining people might be fewer than Reis's derivative bodies.

It was even worse than hell.

At least hell had devils.

But this world, truly, not even a ghost could be seen.

The people of various countries had been almost completely wiped out by me and the Boss.

The good news was that most of this world's heart of africa had fallen into the Boss's hands.

Now, Hafke was nowhere to be seen.

After suffering several setbacks from the Boss, Reis completely went into hiding.

Given that Reis could revive through his derivative bodies, the Boss didn't waste time trying to exhaust him.

And Raven was completely trapped in Tidal Prison.

After all, in this world, no one would be driving a vehicle to Tidal Prison and accidentally bring him out.

I also discovered that, apart from the Boss, I was not the strongest in this world.

Originally, I wanted to hunt down Reis for the Boss, but after having my heaven is round, earth is square shattered by one punch, I gave up on that idea.

Later, I set my sights on Tidal Prison.

I had never searched that place before.

I plundered several Tidal Prisons, and I must have killed no less than two hundred of Raven's derivative bodies alone.

But if you often stand by the river, how can your shoes not get wet?

Finally, I encountered Raven's main body.

He was too strong.

Even though I was on guard after being instantly killed by Reis, he still teleported behind me, grabbed me, and forcefully executed me.

Fortunately, heaven is round, earth is square saved my life.

Relying on the ten thousand gold tear crown, I narrowly escaped death.

From then on, I never stepped foot into Tidal Prison again.

Although I nearly lost my life, the good news was that I found a transparent glass sphere in Tidal Prison.

I discovered that this glass sphere could actually be stored in quantum storage!

This meant it was also a big red!

And like the heart of africa, it was completely undocumented on the top secret server!

I immediately gave it to the Boss.

But the Boss said he had never seen this item either, only heard about it through an MP3.

It was a more powerful item created by the heart of africa.

I was completely bewildered at the time.

However, since this big red was very strong, I had helped the Boss again.

About a month after obtaining the glass sphere, the Boss found me again.

And that was the last time I saw him.

"This thing is called the tear of the ocean?"

In the dim room, candlelight illuminated my face.

The Boss nodded, then looked at me very seriously.

"Number 1, there's a plan that requires your cooperation to complete."

The weariness in the depths of the Boss's eyes made me realize that this plan was definitely not as simple as it seemed.

I nodded solemnly.

The Boss didn't rush to speak, but first lit a cigarette for himself.

"Do you smoke?"

I waved my hand.

It wasn't that I didn't smoke, but my attention was entirely focused on this plan.

"I'm not yet clear on the abilities of the tear of the ocean, as the MP3 content suggests no one has used it before."

"But I've roughly figured out the general trigger conditions, though I can't guarantee it 100%."

Saying that, the Boss brought the tear of the ocean close to me.

"Look closely, what do you notice?"

Following what the Boss had taught me before, I completely dilated my pupils, and only then did I detect a subtle, almost imperceptible anomaly within it.

"A bit more color?"

I frowned in confusion.

When I found the tear of the ocean in Tidal Prison, I had observed it carefully.

The entire tear of the ocean was perfectly transparent.

If you didn't look closely, you wouldn't even notice such a large glass sphere inside the shell.

"Yes." The Boss nodded and retrieved the tear of the ocean.

"The trigger conditions for the tear of the ocean roughly require these points."

"Family affection, friendship, love, hope."

My mouth slightly agape, I tried hard to understand the Boss's prerequisites.

Eventually, I shook my head.

I couldn't understand.

Seeing this, the Boss explained:

"Suppose this tear of the ocean is near us, and I am very important to you, and I die in front of you."

"Then, depending on the intensity of your feelings for me, this tear of the ocean will gain a trace of colored luster."

"You can understand it as the cost of the heart of africa."

After the Boss finished speaking, I suddenly understood.

But immediately after, I imagined the scene of the Boss dying in front of me.

I spoke with some uncertainty:

"Boss... Perhaps the condition for the tear of the ocean is sadness?"

The Boss stared at me blankly for a long time.

I scratched my head awkwardly.

"Boss, I'm just guessing. I just feel that if I saw you die, I would be very sad, so..."

Before I could finish speaking, I saw a long-lost smile appear at the corner of the Boss's mouth.

"It's loss!"

"Losing family affection, friendship, love, will cause sadness."

"Losing hope, losing everything!"

"If we broaden our thinking even further..."

"Regret, self-blame, losing trust in oneself, could these also..."

"And if we combine all of these..."

"That's right, the heart of africa requires a price, so how could the tear of the ocean, created by it, not require some sacrifice?"

The curve of the Boss's mouth grew wider and wider.

He seemed to have found something crucial.

"Looking at it this way, the trigger conditions for the tear of the ocean are quite broad."

"The previous experiments failed, perhaps because the emotion wasn't strong enough."

I saw the Boss grasping his hair in frustration.

Finally, he let out a long sigh.

"In any case, this world might no longer be enough to trigger the tear of the ocean."

"Number 1."

"You must remember every word of the upcoming plan..."

I listened intently as the Boss recounted his entire plan.

My pupils were constantly trembling, and I looked at the Boss in horror.

"Boss, if that's the case..."

I couldn't believe how heartless, how desperate for victory, a person had to be to execute such a plan without complete certainty of success.

I looked at the note the Boss handed me, along with a small round mirror, and fell into a moment of contemplation.

"Backstabbing you... Boss, I really..."

The Boss raised a hand to interrupt me.

"At that time, my memories and personality will be completely different."

"After all, with my personality, I might never be able to trigger the tear of the ocean."

"So, that Liu Yan is not me."

"Also, don't forget, you are my Soldiers."

"My only Soldiers."

"You don't need to treat him as me."

Hearing the Boss say this, I nodded blankly.

Even now, I hadn't recovered from the shock of the plan.

My mind was completely dazed.

"Using the heart of africa, you can lose consciousness again and become an ordinary Soldiers."

"Until the 'me' of the future conquers you with the bust of claudius."

"Fortunately, I never told Cai Ning about you, otherwise I'd have to waste another heart of africa to make him lose his memory."

The Boss said, holding the heart of africa and looking at me.

"Are you ready?"

I took a last few glances at the Boss, then took a deep breath.

"Boss, will I never see you again after this?"

He lowered his head in thought for a moment, then spoke:

"Spiritually speaking, it will be me."

"But a person is made up of experiences and memories."

"So, perhaps it won't really be me."

Hearing this answer, a tear involuntarily streamed down my cheek.

At that very moment, the Boss and I clearly saw a subtle luster appear on the tear of the ocean.

The Boss's eyes lit up at the sight.

"It works!"

On the Boss's face, I saw the joy of impending victory.

And... the sadness buried deep in his eyes.

Indeed, this plan, even for someone like you, is very difficult to bear.

"Boss, let's begin."

After speaking, I closed my eyes.

As the Boss made his wish, I could no longer hear any sound.

During that period, my state was the same as before I met the Boss.

The only difference was that even with a trash vepr submachine gun, no one could kill me.

Until that day, I heard that familiar incantation again.

"wuxidixi!!"

This voice, full of hope and excitement, was completely different from the Boss's.

His face bore a shocking claw-shaped scar.

But compared to the Boss, his eyes were full of hope.

Indeed, he was no longer the Boss I knew.

But this was good too.

Only then would the guilt in my heart be less.

"Liu Yan Guard Soldiers Number 66666, reporting to you."

"Sworn to follow Liu Yan to the death!"

"For... Liu Yan..."
