4: Chicken Brother

When Liu Yan said "fully public," some students who were ready to watch a show were overjoyed.

Teacher Qi, however, nodded thoughtfully, then wasted no more time and quickly led Liu Yan to one of the entrances.

This was the first time Liu Yan had seen this place since coming to this world.

It was an ordinary door, but the scene behind it was completely shrouded in mist.

"From here, you'll enter the Third District."

"Inside, there will be some lone wolves looking for teammates; maybe you can try your luck."

"If you really can't find teammates, I suggest you go to the ordinary Dam Zero; it's relatively safer."

Teacher Qi held Liu Yan back, who was about to rush into the mist, and kept giving him instructions.

Liu Yan nodded, then turned around and walked towards the mist again.

"Wait."

"Did you bring money?"

Teacher Qi grabbed Liu Yan again.

Liu Yan shook his head and replied,

"No."

"No, kid, if you don't have money, what the hell are you going in for? Are you going in with nothing but a knife?"

Teacher Qi was confused by Liu Yan and couldn't help but curse.

Since there was no secure container like in the game in this world, going in with nothing but a knife meant getting beaten up and earning virtually nothing.

Seeing Liu Yan's expression, Teacher Qi looked incredulous and tentatively asked again,

"Where's your knife? Let me see it."

Sure enough, Liu Yan shook his head again.

Teacher Qi was completely speechless this time.

Although some people did go in with nothing but a knife to familiarize themselves with the map and gather intelligence,

at the very least, they would bring a knife for self-defense, right?

You, kid, are you going in to fight with your fists?

You'd probably be in trouble even if you encountered a crocodile!

However, despite his anger, Teacher Qi still opened his phone and transferred 20,000 yuan to Liu Yan.

"Although it's not much, use it to buy some painkillers and a shotgun or something."

"I know you're a good student; I don't need to teach you how to properly carry items and firearms."

After saying that, Teacher Qi patted Liu Yan's shoulder, signaling that he could go in.

Liu Yan's eyes widened when he saw the 20,000 yuan he received.

This was almost two months of his salary; were people here all that rich?

He could only earn this much by working during the day and doing delivery jobs at night, and here it was, just like that?

"Thank you, Teacher Qi!"

Liu Yan bowed to Teacher Qi again to express his gratitude.

As for declining or refusing, that was certainly impossible; was he stupid? Why would he refuse money?

Teacher Qi's mouth twitched uncontrollably.

This kid, why is he so slick, just thanking him directly?!

Even if he had politely declined, just for show, it's not like he could ask for it back, right?

"Alright, alright, hurry up and go. Everyone will be watching, so do well." Teacher Qi patted Liu Yan's shoulder.

Seeing this, Liu Yan said no more and turned to enter the mist.

After stepping into the mist, the scene before Liu Yan changed.

It was as if he was in another world.

On both sides, there were countless doors, which should be the entrances to other areas.

"Level 2 armor with 20 bullet holes, all in non-vital areas, 6,000 yuan."

"vepr submachine gun, 10,000 yuan."

"Unlimited buy of 9x19mm Level 2 bullets, name your price."

"Top Secret Longbow Stream Valley sniping, 2 waiting for 1, no newbies."

"Damn it, camping in ordinary Dam Zero, can't afford to live, is my whole family just me?"

Sounds from all directions continuously entered Liu Yan's ears.

"This... the game really has become reality..."

Since there was no trading post or chat lobby function like in the game, it had transformed into a different kind of scene.

After walking around, Liu Yan stopped in front of a stall selling blood medicine and consumables.

"How much is a car first aid kit?"

"3,000."

"I'll take one. What about this extended-release painkiller?"

"2,000!"

The stall owner's tone became a bit impatient.

He had finally gotten a customer, only for it to be a poor one.

"I'll take one of those too, thank you. Just these two." After saying that, Liu Yan politely smiled at the stall owner.

The stall owner heavily exhaled, barely managing not to curse.

"Aren't you getting a simple bandage? If you have a bleeding wound, you'll die miserably."

Liu Yan waved his hand, then pointed to his school uniform.

"No, if I have a wound, I'll just tear off a piece of clothing and tie it on."

The stall owner was completely speechless after hearing this. He rummaged through a medical box nearby and pulled out a red car first aid kit, tossing it to Liu Yan with a bad temper.

Before Liu Yan could speak, the stall owner quickly raised his hand to interrupt.

"I know what you're going to say."

"First aid kits in the Third District don't differentiate by blood type; don't ask such idiotic questions again!"

After saying that, the stall owner pulled out a strip of extended-release painkillers from his pants pocket, popped out a white painkiller from the packaging, and tossed it to Liu Yan.

"Not a whole strip?" Liu Yan asked with a frown.

"2,000 per pill, buy it or don't, I don't care!"

Looking down at the loose extended-release painkiller, Liu Yan didn't know what to say.

Although in the game it was 2,000 for a whole strip, it could only be used once.

Here, for the same price, it was also for a single use.

Quite reasonable, actually?

"Then you should at least give me some packaging, right?"

"Packaging my ass! 5,000 in total, QR code transfer, and then scram!"

The stall owner angrily pointed to the QR code next to him, then lay back in his chair and started scrolling through short videos.

After putting away the first aid kit and painkillers, Liu Yan reluctantly transferred 500 and then nonchalantly left the stall.

"In the game, having equipment worth two or three million didn't feel like much, but when it's real money, it hurts so much."

He knew that in every game before, he would at least have five sets of assault gear.

He even rarely wore almost brand-new helmets and armor.

Yet here, buying the worst first aid kit and the cheapest painkillers, he almost accidentally entered one less zero.

After putting away the medicine, Liu Yan looked around.

There were road signs and arrows everywhere, each labeled with:

Dam Zero.

Longbow Stream Valley.

Bakshi.

Aerospace Base.

Since it was his first time entering the Third District, Liu Yan decided to go to Dam Zero first to understand the situation.

Although most of the in-game information could be applied here, there might still be differences between the game and reality.

And Liu Yan's goal was a resuscitation ventilator.

He planned to accumulate enough funds first, then directly enter the Babel Tower in Top Secret Bakshi to search for it.

After all, in the Babel Tower Medical Zone, the drop rate for a resuscitation ventilator was relatively higher than in other maps.

Following the road signs, Liu Yan arrived at the entrance of Dam Zero and saw three portals, each labeled:

Ordinary Dam Zero.

Top Secret Dam Zero.

Nightfall Dam Zero.

The portal labeled "Ordinary" had the most people.

The Top Secret portal, however, only had three people.

The three were wearing Level 5 body armor and helmets, and their weapons were fully customized M4A1 assault rifles, looking very impressive.

Suddenly, a handsome guy in overalls with a middle part hairstyle patted Liu Yan's shoulder.

"Alright, stop looking. They're all rich guys."

"A full set of that equipment costs at least over a million; which ordinary family can afford that?"

Liu Yan subconsciously turned his head and, seeing the familiar hairstyle and clothing, froze in place.

"You..."

"Let me introduce myself, I'm Fuji."

"Oh... I'm Liu Yan."

Liu Yan finally reacted. After introducing himself, he politely nodded at the other person.

He hadn't expected to see an old acquaintance after transmigrating here.

"Want to team up? I know Dam Zero like the back of my hand." The handsome guy said, confidently patting his chest.

"How long have you been in the Third District?" Liu Yan asked curiously.

Fuji's mouth curved slightly, revealing a mysterious and confident expression.

"Exactly two and a half years!"

Liu Yan's pupils instantly widened. He quickly stepped forward and grabbed the other's hand.

"Brother Ji! It really is you!"
