64: Veteran Sniper

After waiting a while longer at the Trade Bridge, Liu Yan had only killed 3 people.

So far, Liu Yan's kill count had reached 9.

Liu Yan realized something was wrong.

On his side, besides his own spawn point, there were 8 other spawn points.

Excluding Gao Tianyu, who was with him, all the people at the other eight spawn points had already been killed by him.

On the other side, Liu Yan hadn't seen a single person yet.

"Could it be that those on the other side went to the Super Star Station, then from another exit, set up above the Trade Bridge?"

After pondering, Liu Yan shook his head.

The possibility was low; so far, not a single shot had been fired by the Hafke Soldiers at the Super Star Station.

Pew—!

Another gunshot echoed from afar.

This gunshot confirmed Liu Yan's inner thoughts.

Someone else, like him, had cornered the people at the spawn points on the other side.

This was why the Trade Bridge, which should have been the most dangerous, was instead incredibly safe.

At this rate, if Liu Yan did nothing but lie down and sleep, with 9 kills, securing a spot in the top five would be a sure thing.

Liu Yan poured out a painkiller, put it in his mouth, then got up and walked towards the crash site.

Liu Yan guessed that those who spawned at the Radar Station and Super Star Station deliberately avoided the Trade Bridge direction, going around the upper part towards the cliff.

This meant that the people in the upper part of the map would engage those on the left side.

And the people on the left side would also fight among themselves.

In this way, everyone's positions were almost certainly determined.

"I didn't expect the pace to be so fast," Liu Yan exclaimed.

He had thought the Sniper Elite Competition would be a tedious test of patience for veteran players.

But unexpectedly, the battlefield had already narrowed down just at the start.

Liu Yan ran almost at full speed towards the crash site, accelerating with his power propulsion device and rolling along the way... at the zipline on the flank of the crash site.

"1... 3... 9," Shen Cangsheng silently counted the number of kills he had just made.

"Tsk, they just had to choose Longbow Stream Valley; it's so big, finding people is a pain," Shen Cangsheng frowned and snorted coldly.

"There shouldn't be many people left here; most of the rest should be in the town or Blue Harbor Dock."

Shen Cangsheng pulled out a blue compound bow from behind his back, drew it to full, aimed towards Amiya Town, and shot a detection arrow.

Beep beep beep beep—ding.

"Found them!" Shen Cangsheng's eyes lit up.

Boom—!

Before Shen Cangsheng could set up his sniper rifle to shoot Liu Yan, who had been scanned by the detection arrow, he heard the sound of a loitering munition taking off from the cliff.

"Another rat has appeared."

Shen Cangsheng looked disdainfully towards the cliff, hid behind cover, and after ensuring Liu Yan's direction couldn't hit him, he casually sniped and detonated the loitering munition shot from the cliff in mid-air.

Pew—!

Bang—!

"You can't even use a loitering munition properly," Shen Cangsheng shook his head.

The opponent, seeing that he had exposed his position by firing a detection arrow, wanted to directly use a loitering munition to blow him up.

While exposing his position, the preemptive loitering munition also posed no threat.

If that person had been a bit smarter, waiting for him to shoot at the running person, then taking the opportunity to snipe him, he might have actually gotten his kill.

Even if he missed one shot, he could hide behind cover, then use the loitering munition to blow him up.

Bang—!

Shen Cangsheng's angle couldn't see the enemy on the cliff, but from Liu Yan's angle, the opponent was completely exposed.

After killing this enemy, Liu Yan stood still, narrowing his eyes towards the crash site.

Only after avoiding the second scanning of moving targets did Liu Yan continue running towards the crash site.

But differently, Liu Yan would raise his gun and aim every two steps.

Although this greatly reduced his running speed, it also completely prevented the opponent from directly targeting him.

Liu Yan's two pieces of equipment couldn't exert much effect in Longbow Stream Valley.

This was a disadvantage.

Pew—!

Whoosh—!

A bullet instantly whizzed past Liu Yan's previous position; fortunately, the moment he heard the gunshot, Liu Yan shifted sideways and dodged.

"Hmm? Such a quick reaction? Which school is he from?" Shen Cangsheng was stunned, then reloaded his gun.

"What about this shot?"

Pew—!

Liu Yan rolled, once again dodging the shot.

He looked into the distance with equal surprise.

The bullet didn't come from the crash site!

The crash site, which he had been guarding against, was already completely empty.

Did he directly choose to reposition after killing the enemy on the cliff?

Realizing that this enemy was completely on a different level than the previous ones, Liu Yan also became serious.

"Tsk, good, again!" Shen Cangsheng's brows furrowed again.

I don't believe you can dodge again!

Pew—!

Liu Yan, who was running, suddenly squatted after hearing the gunshot, extending his right leg and sitting on his left leg.

A perfect slide tackle, dodging a shot that almost hit his head.

After getting up, Liu Yan did not continue running; he knew that the opponent was going to continue repositioning.

"Where will he go?" Liu Yan pondered.

And Shen Cangsheng, behind his sniper scope, had an expression like he had eaten something foul.

"Do you even have a Powered Exoskeleton? And you're slide tackling?"

Annoyed as he was, this position clearly couldn't be stayed in any longer.

The first shot, the opponent could only rely on a temporary reaction, so he used the propulsion device.

The second shot, the opponent was prepared, using a more stable roll.

The third shot, the opponent completely knew his position, and dodged with just a slide tackle.

The fourth shot, it was impossible for him to fire first.

"His movement is quite good, but a sniper battle relies on positions."

Shen Cangsheng abandoned this sniping spot and ran towards the small manor.

Running from the small manor all the way to the substation, he could just get a side or back shot at the opponent.

Seeing that the opponent indeed didn't dare to fire a fourth shot, Liu Yan put down his AWM.

"You also know things shouldn't go beyond three, right?"

He also needed to change positions, otherwise the opponent might appear anywhere.

The best positions to target him right now, besides in front, were the substation on the side and the checkpoint on the other side.

If the opponent wanted to go around to the checkpoint, he would have to cross the river.

That would put him in his line of sight, and he wouldn't dare to take the position he had just targeted.

So, if the opponent wanted to hit his side, there was only one position.

"The substation, is it?"

Liu Yan turned to look at the substation.
