482: Wafa, go and show off to everyone!

Liu Yan prattled on for so long that the Soldiers' ears were almost growing callouses.

This was the first time they had ever heard Liu Yan speak so much in one breath.

"Boss... in your words... it's like your mouth has been sprayed with delay spray..."

"Yeah, Boss, you're being way too long-winded..."

"And it's really mushy, too."

"Exactly, exactly!"

"Boss, why are you being so polite with us?"

Seeing the Soldiers' reactions, Liu Yan realized that he had been talking for over ten minutes without even noticing, and everyone was still standing.

"Sorry, everyone. Please, sit down first."

After gesturing for everyone to sit, Liu Yan also sat cross-legged on the ground.

"Let me tell you all about the game."

"You could say I'm fulfilling a promise to you."

"Remember what I said before? That when there was a chance, I'd let you play that game I mentioned."

"I remember! I remember too! Back in Bear Country, Boss, you were always talking about it."

"I remember you mentioned it in Xia Country, too."

The Soldiers all chimed in one after another.

Liu Yan raised his hand to signal for silence, then continued:

"While there's no way to let you play this game directly through a computer,"

"In this world of yours, Portals exist. You can enter the game through these Portals."

"When that time comes, your bodies, your bullets—none of it will be real; it will all be in the form of game data."

"And even if you don't take painkillers, you won't feel any pain."

"When the time comes, you can replace the actual AI in the game, disguise yourselves, and hunt those players."

Hearing this, the eyes of many Soldiers lit up!

"Boss, won't they just think we're ordinary AI? When the time comes, I'll just show them a 'rat-tat-tat-tat,' won't their minds be blown?"

Liu Yan nodded with a smile.

"Yes, that's exactly what I mean."

"I've even added a special setting for you."

"If a player gets some good loot but doesn't have a secure container, you'll be able to see their location directly."

After Liu Yan finished speaking, many Soldiers broke into mischievous grins.

But soon, a few Soldiers thought of something.

"Wait, Boss, if we do that, won't the players' mental state just break, and then they'll stop playing?"

Hearing this question, Liu Yan shook his head.

"They won't. People only cherish what is hard to come by."

"For a game to be maintained long-term, it should make people have a love-hate relationship with it; that's how you keep them hooked."

"If things go too smoothly, or if they're too difficult, interest will drop."

"Of course, I didn't add any truly idiotic settings."

"For example, in my memory, some Extraction Points can only take five people at a time; the logic of the heart of africa must have glitched there."

"If a human being came up with that design, they must be a complete idiot."

After Liu Yan finished speaking, the Soldiers pondered for a moment and then nodded thoughtfully.

Afterward, Liu Yan chatted with the Soldiers for over an hour before finally standing up reluctantly.

"Alright, I'll have to head back in a bit."

"Before that, everyone else can head out. Wafa, stay behind."

As the words fell, the Soldiers were momentarily stunned, and then their gazes turned toward Wafa.

Only then did they notice that Wafa had been sitting in the corner since the very beginning, without saying a single word.

Even when Samar and Harris, who were right next to him, spoke to him, he had only shaken his head in silence.

After the Soldiers got up and left, only Wafa and Liu Yan remained.

Liu Yan walked slowly up to Wafa.

Wafa's somewhat aggrieved sitting posture looked quite amusing in Liu Yan's eyes.

He was sitting on the ground, arms hugging his legs, with his chin resting on his knees.

"What are you thinking about? Tell me."

Liu Yan squatted down in front of Wafa.

Faced with Liu Yan's question, Wafa didn't speak, but instead buried his head a little lower.

Seeing this, Liu Yan craned his neck while still squatting, turning his head entirely.

He looked up at Wafa from below.

"Crying?"

"Dropping little pearls?"

"How did you suddenly become like a little girl?"

After saying that, Liu Yan smiled and patted Wafa on the shoulder.

"Tell me, why are you in such a bad mood?"

Wafa took a moment to compose himself and wiped the tear stains from the corners of his eyes.

"Boss..."

"Maybe you should just delete my memories from back then..."

"When I was carrying out those plans, I never thought I would be alive afterward."

"That's why I was able to be so thorough."

"But now, I have to carry this guilt while facing everyone, and facing you..."

After finishing, Wafa raised his head, his eyes meeting Liu Yan's.

"And, I can't tell which one is you..."

"Is it the one from before, who was cold-blooded enough to devise such a plan?"

"Or the one from later, who treasures the people around him like jewels?"

"Or perhaps the one who looks completely oblivious?"

"All that fuss for just this?" Liu Yan stood up and scratched his head.

"There's nothing to be conflicted about. It's a three-in-one deal; it just so happens you know all three of me."

"As for the guilt you mentioned, that shouldn't be there."

"I recall you weren't a fool, right?"

"Why would you feel guilty? On the contrary, I think you should feel proud."

"Proud?" Wafa looked up at Liu Yan in confusion.

"Yes, proud."

"The outcome was good, and the plan was a success."

"And you were the executor of this plan in every true sense of the word—even I don't really count."

"And I know very well that if it had been any other soldier, not a single one could have done what you did."

"The mindset, the strength, the wisdom, and the absolute trust in me."

"If any one of those was missing, it couldn't have been done."

"You were my first soldier, and you are my strongest soldier."

"How could you possibly feel guilty?"

Wafa's pupils trembled slightly.

He had never imagined that in his Boss's heart, he was held in such high regard.

Furthermore, he had previously thought that

after doing those things, the Boss would probably hate him to death.

"Boss, don't you hate me?"

"Back then, you didn't know the plan, and then I killed them all..."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I'd be lying if I said I didn't hate you then. At that time, I had no other thought in my mind except to kill you."

"But after I found out the truth later, how could I possibly still hate you?"

"I even admire you a little."

"After all, if it were me, I probably wouldn't have been able to harden my heart enough to kill the people close to me."

After Liu Yan finished, Wafa's mouth couldn't help but twitch twice.

"Boss... why do I feel like that wasn't exactly a compliment?"

Liu Yan laughed and patted Wafa.

"As long as the meaning behind it is good, it's fine."

"Go on, go show off properly to everyone."

"A plan that no one else knew about, that only you knew—I can imagine how exhausting that must have been."

"Let them all know just how much badass stuff you did."

After comforting Wafa, Liu Yan turned and walked toward a Portal in the distance.

Through there, Liu Yan could return directly to his own world.

Suddenly, Liu Yan paused in his tracks.

"What's wrong, Boss?" Wafa asked in confusion from behind him.

Liu Yan turned around, looked at Wafa, and spoke slowly:

"Oh, right. Help me pass a message to everyone."

"In the future, stop shouting that 'For Liu Yan' stuff..."

"You guys might enjoy shouting it,"

"But every time, I cringe so hard my toes start clawing at the ground..."
