24: My Favorites

"Holy crap!" Zhao Chuang's jaw nearly hit the floor at the sight inside the warehouse.

The warehouse walls were lined with fully modified m14 marksman rifles!

Rows of boxes were filled with various types of ammunition.

On a shelf nearby, there were five sets of Trick MAS2.0 armor.

In front of the armor, five DICH-9 heavy helmets were displayed.

Although Zhao Chuang, as a student, didn't recognize this equipment, he could tell from its appearance alone that it was incredibly valuable.

Liu Yan was equally stunned.

The warehouse before him was still too meager compared to his warehouse in the game.

However, Fuji's skill level and his timid personality completely contradicted the contents of this warehouse.

One had to know that a fully modified M14 and a six-piece set were already top-tier equipment.

"Is all of this yours?" Liu Yan asked suspiciously.

"Sort of."

Fuji scratched his head awkwardly.

"These are all relics my dad left behind." As he spoke, a flicker of sadness passed through Fuji's eyes.

"Your dad must have been amazing!" Zhao Chuang praised unreservedly.

Fuji shook his head after hearing Zhao Chuang's praise for his father.

"Actually, my dad, like me, wasn't very strong in terms of combat ability."

"But my dad was very fast at making money by 'grave robbing,' and he knew all the treasure-filled places in the Third District like the back of his hand."

"In that regard, he was quite similar to Liu Yan; every time he entered the Third District, it was like going home."

Hearing Fuji mention himself, Liu Yan finally shifted his gaze from the m14 marksman rifles.

"Hmm?"

Snapping back to reality, Liu Yan couldn't help but ask,

"You don't use or sell so much high-value equipment? Do you just leave it like this?"

Liu Yan had never quite understood the behavior of hoarders.

Once, Liu Yan had a teammate who was a hoarder. He had asked the person many times what the fun was in doing that.

The person's answer was always, "You wouldn't understand."

It was precisely because he recalled that person that Liu Yan had just been momentarily stunned.

Unfortunately, they had lost contact a year before Liu Yan transmigrated to this world.

And Liu Yan had been here for about three months now.

"Actually, I wanted to sell them, but my dad told me to wait." Fuji shook his head regretfully.

Fuji's answer interrupted Liu Yan's memories.

"Wait?"

"Yes!" Fuji nodded and continued,

"He told me to wait for someone who wouldn't pressure me, wouldn't despise me for being weak, and would be willing to share equipment with me after killing people."

"Then, I should lend these items to him."

"Oh, right, there's also a gun my dad left for me, telling me to keep it no matter what."

Mid-sentence, Fuji suddenly remembered something, ran to the corner of the warehouse, and picked up a dust-covered box.

Bang----

Fuji placed the box on the ground, raising a cloud of dust that made Liu Yan and Zhao Chuang cough repeatedly.

Click---

Liu Yan raised an eyebrow when the box opened.

"Oh, my favorite, giant wave."

The gun stored in the box was none other than the AS Val assault rifle, nicknamed giant wave.

Although it wasn't as versatile as the M14, in close-quarters combat, even the M14 had to avoid its edge!

The reason was simple: when the unique sound of the giant wave rang out, whether the opponent had a five-piece or six-piece set, they would all melt away!

Before his transmigration, Liu Yan had made his name by using the giant wave + Mighty Dragon to wreak havoc within the Babel Tower!

"You like this gun too? What a coincidence, my dad said he had a friend who loved using this one the most."

"He said his old friend, using this gun, could kill gods and slay Buddhas!"

Fuji stroked the body of the giant wave, a look of reminiscence and adoration on his face.

"It is quite a coincidence." Liu Yan looked at the giant wave in the box, his expression somewhat surprised.

After careful observation, Liu Yan realized that the modifications on this giant wave were identical to his own!

Even the position of the grip and the height of the stock were exactly the same as his finely tuned setup in the game.

However, Liu Yan didn't recall having any friends named "Fu."

"How did your dad die?" Zhao Chuang's sudden, abrupt question interrupted the two.

"How the hell do you talk?" Fuji was somewhat displeased.

Although what the other person said was true, why did it sound so offensive?

Realizing he had spoken out of turn, Zhao Chuang scratched his head apologetically.

Liu Yan spoke up in time, redirecting the awkward conversation.

"Alright, let's head back first. We mainly came here to drop off the guns; we still need to go make money later."

"Do you remember what I said on the phone about needing your help?" Liu Yan looked at Fuji.

Fuji, considering Zhao Chuang was still a student, didn't bother to argue. He waved his hand and then looked at Liu Yan, replying,

"I remember, but wasn't it to help you buy equipment?"

Liu Yan shook his head after hearing that.

"Not that. I've arranged a deposit match with someone, today at 4 PM."

"I wanted to pull you in to make up the numbers. You don't need to pay. Soon, I'll take both of you to earn enough for the deposit match."

Upon hearing the words "deposit match," Fuji reached out and placed his hand on Liu Yan's forehead.

"He's not even running a fever, is he?"

"Are you crazy to agree to a deposit match with someone? Do you know how many people lose everything every year because of deposit matches?"

"Also, from what you're saying, you're going to earn the money right before the match? Last-minute cramming?"

Liu Yan helplessly put Fuji's hand down and retorted,

"Are you still not confident in my abilities?"

"Don't worry, you don't need to participate in the fight, just make up the numbers."

At this point, Zhao Chuang quickly interjected.

"It's fine, Brother Ji. If you're scared of dying, you can just AFK on the side."

Zhao Chuang's tone was very calm, without any hint of mockery.

But often, such a calm narration is what most easily makes people furious.

Sure enough, Fuji's face gradually flushed red.

"AFK your grandma! Is that what I'm worried about?"

"Alright, stop talking for now." Liu Yan pushed Zhao Chuang aside.

If he kept provoking him, even a monk would jump over the wall.

"If you truly have some deep-seated grudge against the other party, I can pay for your deposit match."

After calming down for a while, Fuji finally spoke slowly.

"But let me say this first: in the future, seriously, don't touch these deposit matches! Stay away from gambling, understand?"

Hearing Fuji's words, Liu Yan felt a surge of gratitude.

They had only known each other for less than two days, yet the other person was willing to help him so much.

"That's great, Brother Ji! After the deposit match, we'll split the winnings three ways, and I'll return the money you put in in full!"

Fuji carefully put away the box containing the giant wave, preparing to return it to its original place, and turned to ask,

"Alright, how much are you playing for?"

"It's a bit of a shame, only two million per person. The other side only had that much, otherwise, we could have made a lot more."

Liu Yan shook his head with a hint of regret.

After putting the box away, Fuji's motion to stand up froze in place.

After a long pause... "Then what the hell are we still wasting time here for?! Let's go make some money!"
