248: Heart of Africa No. 66666

Two years later.

"The last mission area has been searched."

"I originally thought it would only take a few months to search Bear Country, but I didn't expect it to take this long."

Cai Ning smacked his lips; he wasn't smoking this time because his stash had run out.

Liu Yan watched the Soldiers arriving one after another to regroup and replied as a matter of course:

"Naturally, it is the largest country in the world, after all. The number of mission areas is far greater than in other countries."

"And all of us combined only add up to over a hundred and forty thousand people."

"However, what I didn't expect was that in the Southern Federal District, Raven and Reis barely searched at all."

"If we didn't count their side, we probably could have finished the search in less than a year and a half."

As he spoke, Liu Yan weighed a small bag in his hand.

The bag contained over two hundred Hearts of Africa.

Hearing the clinking of the Hearts of Africa inside the bag, Cai Ning's eyes darted around.

"Why don't you make a wish on a heart of africa to conjure up a few cartons of cigarettes?"

Liu Yan shot Cai Ning an annoyed look.

"Once we're done with this, we'll head back to Xia Country and see if we can get some."

"Packets might be a long shot, but rolling some loose tobacco should be fine for a quick fix."

Trading a heart of africa for cigarettes—Liu Yan couldn't imagine anyone other than Cai Ning coming up with that.

"Then you should at least make some other wishes."

"While it can't restore your former power, if you used all these Hearts of Africa combined to boost your strength..."

"Then the old you wouldn't even be a match for the current you; you'd be like a total nobody."

Cai Ning looked at Liu Yan with an expectant face.

For the past two years, he had been dying to see what level the current Liu Yan would reach after making a wish.

Unfortunately, aside from making a few scattered wishes, Liu Yan just hoarded most of the Hearts of Africa.

"Even if I become stronger, what's the use?"

"Individual power is too insignificant in front of Jacob Havoc."

"And something very strange has been happening."

"A few months ago, I originally intended to make a wish."

"But suddenly, I just didn't want to anymore. It was as if a voice in my head was telling me that I couldn't make a wish."

Liu Yan shook his head.

"Maybe it's just intuition."

..."Sixth Brother, we've finished searching the mission areas on our side. Let's go regroup with the Boss."

Inside the Diamond Queen Hotel, a soldier waved from behind Soldier No. 66666.

"Once the Brothers from the other teams finish their search, Bear Country will truly have been picked clean by us."

Soldier No. 66666 stood with his back to the other Soldiers, weighing several Hearts of Africa in his hand.

"Alright."

While the other Soldiers weren't looking, Soldier No. 66666 stowed all the Hearts of Africa away.

These Hearts of Africa should be enough, he thought to himself.

Soldier No. 66666 mused silently.

After standing up, Soldier No. 66666 regrouped with the other team members.

Except for Soldier No. 66666, the other Soldiers all looked somewhat dejected.

"What's wrong? Why the long faces?"

"Sixth Brother, it's been two years, and our team has only found one heart of africa in total."

"Now that the Bear Country mission areas have all been searched, there's no chance to overtake the other teams."

"We are dead last!"

The complaining soldier was one of the twelve Soldiers who had been kidnapped by Ivan back then.

He had originally wanted to use the search for Hearts of Africa to reclaim the dignity they had lost.

As it turned out, after two years of hard work, they had only found one.

Initially, because Soldier No. 66666 was on their team, they thought they had it in the bag.

After all, among all the Soldiers, Soldier No. 66666 was recognized as the strongest.

During their downtime over the last two years, the Soldiers had sparred with each other.

The rules were simple and ensured safety.

Everyone wore Tier 6 gear, used vepr submachine guns, and loaded Level 1 bullets.

The first one to get hit lost.

However, every soldier who challenged him was crushed by Soldier No. 66666.

They had even egged Liu Yan on to spar with Soldier No. 66666.

In the end, although Liu Yan won, it wasn't a total landslide; Soldier No. 66666 actually held out for a minute against Liu Yan.

"Sixth Brother, aren't you frustrated? You're so strong, yet our team only found one!"

The soldier looked at Soldier No. 66666 and asked with some indignation.

The latter gave a faint smile.

"Even if the Boss came to search personally, it would still depend on luck."

"There have been no enemies for these two years. When it comes to just finding Hearts of Africa, strength has no effect."

After saying this, Soldier No. 66666 patted the soldier on the shoulder and looked at the others.

"Alright, Brothers."

"Don't look so miserable. Don't you know what kind of person the Boss is?"

"Even if you hadn't found a single one, the Boss wouldn't blame you."

"As for that ranking you guys made up out of boredom, the Boss doesn't care about it at all."

After a few words of comfort, the Soldiers' moods finally lightened a bit.

"Sixth Brother, we're mainly just trying to save face."

"If you want to save face, you'll have your chance."

Soldier No. 66666 gestured for everyone to leave the Queen Hotel together.

"The Boss is about to head to Little Eagle Country to avenge the Brothers who died before."

"When the time comes to fight, you can just earn your dignity back then."

"We might not be able to out-search them, but can we not out-fight them?"

"Have you forgotten? According to the Boss, tang peoples have high drop rates."

As Soldier No. 66666 finished his last sentence, the Soldiers, who hadn't been in a good mood, all burst into laughter.

Ever since Liu Yan had told them about things from the game, along with some memes,

they had slowly begun to circulate among the Soldiers.

For example, the team Soldier No. 88888 was in had found 7 Hearts of Africa.

He had now been dubbed 'Tang Person 88888' by everyone.

"Let's go, find the Boss."

After the group left Longbow Stream Valley, they were suddenly stepping onto city streets.

By now, the zombie corpses had long since rotted beyond recognition, leaving only skeletons scattered everywhere.

In the distance, the Soldiers were gathering together, with Liu Yan naturally at the center of the circle.

"Boss, we just found another heart of africa!"

Soldier No. 88888 was holding a heart of africa high in his hand.

Seeing this, the other Soldiers looked on with envy.

"As expected of a Tang Person, the drop rate is just high."

"Isn't it? Just look at the way he walks; it looks like a high drop rate walk."

Facing the sarcastic remarks of the other Soldiers, Soldier No. 88888 walked up to Liu Yan with a smug face.

He raised the hand holding the heart of africa and then lightly let go.

The heart of africa dropped into Liu Yan's bag with a pleasant sound.

This cheeky behavior once again drew jeers from the other Soldiers.

"Good Brothers, did you bring the trash I asked you to?"

Ivan squeezed out from the crowd of Soldiers.

He hadn't gone to Xia Country to find Xiao Soul.

Because he had discovered that by staying by Liu Yan's side, there was simply too much trash to pick up!

Not to mention anything else, even if each soldier just grabbed one item at random, it would mean 1-2 substitutions for him!

Not to mention that these Soldiers' backpacks were all the largest size!

And influenced by Liu Yan, he also wanted to see if they could actually win against Jacob Havoc.

"Here you go, your favorite ox horn."

"And here are the precious gold blueprints you like."

"What magic tricks are you performing tonight? Don't just do the same ones over and over; the Brothers are getting tired of them."

The Soldiers opened their backpacks and poured out the miscellaneous items inside one after another.

Quite a few Soldiers also had special items in their backpacks.

The extras were given to Liu Yan, while Liu Yan let them keep the ones they could use for themselves.

Vrrr——————!

Ivan turned on the powerful vacuum cleaner and sucked all the miscellaneous items into it.

"Thank you, good Brothers!!!"

"Don't worry about the magic tricks; in a bit, I'll perform actual magic for everyone!"
