23: Fudge's Warehouse

On their way to evacuate, the three were fortunate not to encounter any enemies.

However, the unique features of Longbow Stream Valley still gave them a hard time.

"Brother Yan, how much further is it? I'm a bit too tired to run," Zhao Chuang said, panting behind Liu Yan and Fuji.

"I say, buddy, you don't usually exercise, do you? You're already out of breath?" Fuji, walking in the middle, still had yogurt on the corner of his mouth from what he had just eaten.

This kind of life was something Fuji had never dared to dream of.

Who would have thought that in the crisis-ridden Third District, one could eat yogurt, hum a tune, and enjoy the unique scenery of Longbow Stream Valley along the way?

"Stop bullshitting, you're not carrying anything, so of course it's easy for you. How about we switch?" Zhao Chuang muttered softly.

On his back, he was clearly carrying all the equipment from the three enemies they had just defeated, plus a bag of cement found in the cement truck!

Liu Yan, walking in front and looking around, comforted him:

"It's just one more slope until the extraction point."

The three descended the slope from the small train station and successfully reached the extraction point for this round, an abandoned village.

After Liu Yan confirmed there were no ambushes at the extraction point, the three successfully stepped into the extraction zone.

The scene shifted, and the three were simultaneously teleported to the entrance of Longbow Stream Valley.

"Brother Yan, are we going to Longbow Stream Valley to make money all day today?" Zhao Chuang's voice was a bit weak.

"No, Longbow Stream Valley is too far. Next, we'll go to the ordinary Dam Zero."

The reason Liu Yan chose to enter Longbow Stream Valley was just to test the bullet drop of the sniper rifle and the effects of wind speed at long distances.

Through the recent sniper battle, Liu Yan had already adapted to the feel of a sniper rifle in reality.

There was a deposit match waiting for him at 4 PM, and to quickly earn enough for the three people's deposits and equipment, Dam Zero was undoubtedly the first choice.

"Let's go, first, let's sell this equipment."

Soon, the three went to the Old Man at the Recycling Stall in the trading area to sell off some unneeded equipment for cash.

As for the M700 sniper rifle, Liu Yan kept it.

The modifications to this gun were almost perfect, and Liu Yan planned to use it in the sniper competition three days later.

It was at this moment that Liu Yan suddenly remembered something.

"Brother Ji, if I don't sell the equipment and keep it myself, is there a place to store it?"

In the game, Liu Yan would store guns he was comfortable with, and usable medical supplies, in a warehouse.

After all, while selling for cash saved space, the handling fees deducted were too much of a rip-off.

And when he wanted to use it again, he would have to buy it back at a higher price.

Fuji nodded and replied:

"Yes, there are, but you have to buy them."

"What do you mean?"

Liu Yan didn't quite understand what he meant for a moment.

Weren't warehouses in games all free? Only upgrading capacity cost money.

"It means The Authorities have built many warehouses in the Third District, but of course, they're not free."

"You have to buy them with money, and the price isn't low. After purchasing, they'll give you a warehouse deed."

At this point, Liu Yan understood. Isn't this just buying a house?

Fuji continued to explain to Liu Yan:

"Not many people can afford warehouses, so some action companies will monopolize warehouses and then rent them out at high prices."

"Besides that, there are also warehouse loans, but the interest rates are a bit high."

After listening, Liu Yan nodded blankly.

Indeed, such phenomena occur everywhere, and the Third District, even though it appeared out of nowhere, was no exception.

"Where is your warehouse?" Liu Yan asked.

Since Fuji had been struggling in the Third District for two and a half years, there was no reason for him not to buy or rent a warehouse.

"Come on, I'll take you guys to see it," Fuji said, a hint of excitement on his lips.

Passing through the bustling trading area, the three arrived at a quiet area.

On both sides of the road, buildings with garage-like exteriors stretched as far as the eye could see, presumably the warehouse district specially built by The Authorities.

Fuji walked ahead, introducing to Liu Yan and Zhao Chuang behind him:

"Each room here is a different person's warehouse."

At this moment, Zhao Chuang raised a question:

"Brother Ji, do we have to walk this far every time we go back to the warehouse?"

Liu Yan was equally curious about this question. Were there no cars or other more convenient ways?

Fuji shrugged and replied:

"No choice, after all, besides knives, nothing from the outside can be brought into the Third District."

Liu Yan then nodded in sudden realization.

Indeed, if external vehicles, firearms, and ammunition could be brought into the Third District.

Then they could just organize an army and flatten it, or even turn the Third District into a tourist attraction.

Seeing that the two did not speak, Fuji continued:

"If you have money, you can buy a warehouse closer to the trading area. If you don't have money, you can only buy a remote one."

"However, there are some people in the Third District who specialize in running errands, helping to retrieve and store equipment in warehouses."

"The warehouse district has security and surveillance, so there's no need to worry about theft."

After speaking, Fuji stopped in front of one of the warehouses.

"We're here, this is my warehouse, bought in full!" Fuji turned his head, looking proudly at the two.

"How much does a warehouse like this cost in full?" Liu Yan couldn't help but ask.

Fuji spread his five fingers, holding them up in front of Liu Yan.

"5 million!"

This made Zhao Chuang on the side gasp.

5 million, what kind of concept is that?

In a small city, if not squandered, it would be enough for a family to live comfortably for a lifetime, without needing to work.

"Not bad, it's not expensive. How much would a slightly larger warehouse, closer to the trading area, cost?"

As soon as Liu Yan said this, not only Zhao Chuang but even Fuji doubted his own ears.

Looking at their astonished expressions, Liu Yan was a bit speechless.

Is 5 million for a warehouse very expensive?

In the game, buying an equipment box or something similar could cost tens of millions.

Not to mention upgrading to a level 9 and level 10 warehouse, which required a resuscitation ventilator worth tens of millions and a heart of africa worth 13 million, respectively.

Compared to that, a 5 million warehouse was indeed not expensive.

"Yes, warehouses near the trading area are twice the size of mine and cost about 40 million..." Fuji swallowed.

Liu Yan didn't find this surprising, he nodded calmly, already planning to buy one in the future.

Although his salary wasn't high before he transmigrated, earning money here was just like playing a game for Liu Yan.

And his spending habits naturally followed those from the game.

"Let's go, let's go inside and take a look. And help me store this gun, I'll need it in a few days."

Saying this, Liu Yan raised the M700 sniper rifle in his hand.

Fuji hummed in acknowledgment, then walked to the warehouse door and pressed his finger into the machine.

After recognizing his fingerprint, the warehouse door slowly rose, revealing the interior of the warehouse.
