115: Chapter 115 Plans

He only hoped now that Fei Jiaqi hadn't shown this map to anyone else.

Otherwise, given Qi Yin's temper, Chen Jun couldn't guarantee that they would be allowed to stay.

By then, his old friends would likely be picked clean to the bone in this Apocalypse.

Fei Jiaqi seemed startled; he jerked his head up, forcing an unnatural smile onto his face.

Qi Yin watched his brazen, unfazed expression and suddenly laughed.

The smile was faint, yet it made Fei Jiaqi feel even more unnerved.

"What? Didn't expect me to have a computer? So many people seem to know about your private business, huh?"

Fei Jiaqi's life was something she had given him; as for anything else, what was impossible?

He slumped on the ground; now, there was truly no way to deny it.

With everything exposed, he instead abandoned all pretense, laughing maniacally like a madman, looking even more twisted.

"Where did I get it from? Teacher, who told you to always leave your computer on? I was just saving it while I was at it."

Chen Jun was stunned, propping his head up to recall; it seemed there really had been times he was that negligent.

He glanced at Qi Yin, a look of immediate remorse appearing on his face.

"The map, have you leaked it to anyone?"

He only hoped now that Fei Jiaqi wouldn't court death.

"Heh, I didn't give it to anyone. In this dump called Kyoto, someone from a small place like me, who could I possibly know?"

Qi Yin didn't believe a single word of his ghost stories.

She lifted her foot and pressed it hard onto the wound on Fei Jiaqi's left cheek, her beige boots stained with quite a bit of bright red blood.

"Last chance. Who did you give the map to?"

"Ah!"

Fei Jiaqi struggled to lift his head to look at Qi Yin, his eyes flickering as he decided to go all out.

"I said I didn't give it to anyone! Qi Yin, you're impressive, I admit defeat. But do you dare kill me? If you kill me, you'll never know who wanted this thing, hahaha!"

This was his only trump card for survival at the moment.

He laughed wildly, struggled to stand up, turned around, and walked out of the crowd step by step.

Without Qi Yin's order, no one dared to stop him.

Just as he was laughing wildly, no one saw how Qi Yin moved; they only saw a faint white cold light flash by.

"Pfft!"

"Ah!"

Fei Jiaqi, who had already walked out of the crowd, let out a shrill scream and collapsed to the ground again, clutching his left knee.

Gushing blood soaked through his trouser leg, the intense pain mixed with freezing cold, striking straight to the bone marrow.

Seeing the Ice Thorn at his kneecap, he looked at Qi Yin in terror.

"My patience is limited." Qi Yin's voice was cold, without a trace of warmth.

Unfortunately, Dr. Chen Jun's face value with her had been exhausted.

Fei Jiaqi hadn't expected Qi Yin to really dare to strike; the intense pain made him weep and snot everywhere, but he still gritted his teeth, howling, yet refusing to speak.

Qi Yin turned around; she really didn't want to look at Fei Jiaqi's ugly state—it was an eyesore.

"Doctor, it seems he won't give up until he sees the coffin..."

Dr. Chen Jun glanced at the tight-lipped Fei Jiaqi and shook his head regretfully.

He could no longer protect Fei Jiaqi either.

The moment Qi Yin turned around, a flash of malice and desperate madness crossed the eyes of the paralyzed Fei Jiaqi. He suddenly kicked the ground with his uninjured right leg, dragging his broken leg as he attempted to jump onto the off-road vehicle to escape.

Seeing the off-road vehicle right in front of him, he thought to himself, faster, a little faster, he would be able to leave in a moment.

However.

Xiao Sinian, who had been silent all along, moved!

He didn't even change his posture of sitting with his arms crossed. With a sharp gaze, a dazzling bolt of lightning lashed out from his fingertips, moving too fast to be caught by the eye.

"Crackle!"

The lightning whip left a charred black hole in Fei Jiaqi's back.

His body stiffened, his escape attempt coming to an abrupt halt, and black smoke rose from the back where Xiao Sinian had struck him.

He struggled to turn his head, wanting to see clearly who had made the move, but his eyes glazed over, and he stopped breathing completely.

There was dead silence by the campfire; the crackling of the burning wood hit everyone's hearts, carrying a silent warning.

Dr. Chen Jun covered his face, sighed deeply, and turned away, unable to bear it.

Xiao Sinian acted as if he had just casually swatted a fly, withdrawing his gaze to look at Qi Yin.

"The person who wasn't of one mind has been cleaned up."

Qi Yin glanced at Fei Jiaqi's corpse, her eyes devoid of any fluctuation. She put away the computer and flash drive, then beckoned to him.

Xiao Sinian understood and immediately stood up to follow.

Fei Jiaqi's corpse was dragged away to be disposed of, but the atmosphere by the campfire did not lighten much.

Lu Jinwen and the others hadn't even imagined that a single conflict would lead to uncovering a mole.

Xu Yongning reacted, regretting it as he slapped his thigh hard: "Damn, if I'd known this brat was a mole, I should have hit him harder earlier..."

Chen Quan: I also regret it a bit; that kick didn't cripple him.

The research team members silently packed their belongings, occasionally looking up at the location where Qi Yin and Xiao Sinian were, their eyes filled with an unspeakable fear.

Inside the off-road vehicle, the heater was turned to the max. Qi Yin stretched comfortably and leaned back lazily against the seat.

"What do you think about today's events?" She looked languidly at Xiao Sinian.

The powder that caused plants and animals to mutate, the leaked map, and the iron dragonfly that seemed to have stopped working due to a lack of power.

Every single thing was linked to Tian Zining and that group of mysterious Black-Robed People.

In the dark, it seemed there was always a hand pushing her forward, pushing her to uncover the secrets behind all of this.

She thought, perhaps, it was time to split up.

Xiao Sinian didn't answer immediately; he pulled a cigarette case from his pocket, took one out, and held it in his mouth without lighting it.

"It's too coincidental, as if someone deliberately placed these things in front of us."

He had a vague guess in his heart.

After a pause, he looked toward the direction of Xiyin Base in the darkness.

"Little Yin, the Doctor and the others must be sent back to the base safely; that is our bottom line. But the trail of Tian Zining cannot be broken either."

Qi Yin straightened her back, fumbled for a lighter, and lit it for him with a snap.

"You're right, so I was thinking, perhaps we should split up. One group will escort the Doctor and the others back to the base to ensure the research can proceed smoothly."

As she spoke, her gaze sharpened: "The other group will continue to follow Tian Zining."

She really wanted to see which big shot was actually behind the trail of Tian Zining.

Xiao Sinian looked at her, a flash of approval in his eyes, along with a trace of... worry.

He flicked the ash: "After today, Tian Zining will surely be more careful. Once he gets the weapons, he will definitely go back to report. Following him is the fastest way to find the source."

He had checked; Tian Zining was previously just the leader of a small team and had once joined a small base, but he only went out on his own because he was dissatisfied with certain rules of that base.

But no matter how big his ambition was, it was impossible for him to suddenly become interested in super weapons and be able to successfully obtain the map.

There must be someone behind Tian Zining.

With their opinions in high agreement, Qi Yin breathed a sigh of relief, then immediately thought of another problem.
