95: Chapter 95 Finding Xiao Sinian
This is by no means a key laboratory of a Medical University dedicated to saving lives; what they are doing here is utterly shameful.
It is simply a den of horrors for human experimentation and virus development.
She now suspects that the appearance of these high-level zombies most likely has something to do with this laboratory.
Suppressing the urge to vomit, Qi Yin gripped her Tang sword tightly and scanned her surroundings with even greater vigilance.
She had already walked to the door directly opposite, yet she still didn't see any sign of Xiao Sinian.
Where on earth could he have been kicked to? Could he have encountered something even more terrifying?
Just then, out of the corner of her eye, Qi Yin caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a small piece of fabric peeking out from under the door directly in front of her.
The color was very similar to the fabric of the Constant Temperature Suit she was wearing.
Her heart tightened instantly, and she hurried over and crouched down.
Picking it up to take a closer look, it was indeed a piece of fabric that had fallen off the Constant Temperature Suit she had given to Xiao Sinian earlier.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Qi Yin pounded on the door vigorously.
"Xiao Sinian, are you inside? Hey?"
She pressed her ear against the door, calling out for a long time and waiting for a long time, but she didn't hear any response from him.
But there were no other exits around here, and her Spiritual power couldn't penetrate this door; Qi Yin was absolutely certain that there was a very high probability that Xiao Sinian was inside.
Finally, after knocking again, a faint scratching sound came from inside.
"I... I'm here." Xiao Sinian's voice sounded very weak, but it was still clear.
Qi Yin breathed a sigh of relief; the fact that Xiao Sinian was still conscious proved that the problem shouldn't be too serious.
"Wait a moment, I'll open the door."
Qi Yin looked around, tried to push and pull the door with force, and tried to pry it open with her sword, but there was absolutely no movement.
It was as if this door was impervious to anything.
Try using ice to jam the door gap! She tried again.
However, even after working up a sweat, the door in front of her remained unmoved.
"What's going on?"
At this moment, Xiao Sinian's voice came through intermittently: "It's useless. I was kicked in by that thing earlier. After I came in, the door closed automatically. There's no switch on the inside."
When he first got in, he had used the same methods as Qi Yin, but none of them worked.
"Damn it!" Qi Yin cursed under her breath, anxiously looking around, wanting to see if there were any hidden switches or control panels.
Time passed second by second; Xiao Sinian didn't have any special medicine on him, so he probably wouldn't be able to hold on for much longer.
Just when she was at her wit's end, slow, leisurely footsteps came from behind her.
Turning around, she saw Xiao Bai walking in with its signature cat-like gait, its large amber eyes scanning the anxious Qi Yin and the tightly closed door.
It seemed to understand what was going on.
Xiao Bai tilted its large head to examine it, and then... without any warning, it suddenly raised its front paw and clawed at the door panel with terrifying power.
"Crack!"
With no technique whatsoever, the sturdy metal door that had rendered Qi Yin helpless was, in front of it, like paper; it was instantly torn open, leaving a huge gash.
Then, to Qi Yin's astonished gaze, it shattered into tiny pieces.
Qi Yin: "..."
"How did you do that, Xiao Bai?"
Xiao Bai tilted its large head: "Master, in the face of absolute power, everything else is empty."
Qi Yin: Fine, I've been looked down upon.
Inside the door, Xiao Sinian, who had been leaning against the wall preparing to forcibly mobilize his Supernatural Ability to smash the door: "..."
The two of them looked at Xiao Bai, who was leisurely licking its paws at the doorway, and then at the pile of scrap metal on the ground, falling into silence for a moment.
A few seconds later, Qi Yin seemed to finally snap out of it and rushed in to support the pale-faced Xiao Sinian.
"How are you? Quickly, eat this!"
She fed Xiao Sinian a whole bottle of spiritual spring water and also took out the last few remaining Level 3 pure crystal cores she hadn't been able to bring herself to eat, crushing them into powder for him to swallow.
With his internal injuries and exhausted Supernatural Ability replenished by the immense energy, Xiao Sinian suddenly felt a lot lighter.
He looked at the anxious Qi Yin, knowing full well how precious this purple crystal core was.
"I've caused you trouble again."
"What are you saying? If I hadn't asked you to stay and fight the monster, you wouldn't have been injured. In the end, it's my fault."
Xiao Sinian waved his hand, unable to help himself as he leaned gently against her shoulder.
"No, it's because I wanted to become stronger myself."
I can't fall too far behind.
The sudden moment of tenderness made Qi Yin feel a bit uncomfortable for a moment; she pulled Xiao Bai over and vigorously rubbed its large, furry head.
"Oh my, Xiao Bai, you really are my lucky star! You're amazing!"
Xiao Bai shook its head triumphantly, a comfortable purring sound coming from its throat.
Xiao Sinian covered his chest and coughed, looking at the scene before him with complex eyes.
He hesitated for a moment, but ultimately reached out and gently patted Xiao Bai's head; it was a bit awkward, but very sincere.
"Thanks..."
He still remembered the tense, confrontational situation when the two of them first met.
Xiao Bai glanced at him and snorted, but it didn't dodge, accepting the thanks; the tip of its tail twitched.
After a while, Qi Yin helped Xiao Sinian up, and only then did she have the time to carefully examine the secret room that had been violently broken open by Xiao Bai.
Xiao Sinian pointed to a row of instruments, the names of which he didn't know, his voice heavy.
"This place is even stranger than the outside. I don't even know the names of these instruments. However, Professor Zhou should know; we need to take them back."
Qi Yin nodded in agreement. She had hoarded so many things, but she had truly never seen these styles before.
With a wave of her sleeve, all the unknown instruments and computer devices flashing with complex data were thrown into her space.
"Xiao Yu, put these things in a separate place; don't mix them up." She specifically instructed.
"Understood, understood!"
Xiao Sinian led Qi Yin to a small room nearby partitioned off with reinforced glass.
Neither of them noticed that ever since they stood up just now, their hands had been held together the entire time.
"This is the place we were looking for."
Xiao Sinian looked at the rows of filing cabinets inside, which he had accidentally discovered earlier.
"Then let's look for the documents first."
Qi Yin suppressed her worry about Xiao Sinian's injuries; right now, getting the items and leaving as soon as possible was the most important thing.
She always had a premonition that the longer they stayed here, the greater the probability of being noticed.
The two quickly entered the archive room and began to search.
But Qi Yin had a more brutal method, which was to take all the archives away and organize them slowly when they got back.
The more she collected, the more Qi Yin felt that something was wrong.
She glanced at Xiao Sinian: "Do you not feel that this archive room shouldn't be this size?"
Xiao Sinian knocked on the wall and nodded: "You're right. This archive room is smaller than estimated from the outside."
A muffled sound came from behind a wall, and Xiao Sinian's fingers brushed over the connection between the wall and the shelf.
"Behind this wall, it's empty."
He was concise and to the point, looking at Qi Yin: "Step back a bit."
Lightning began to gather in his palm, and a blinding lightning whip lashed fiercely at the gap.
"Bang!"
With a muffled thud, a hole was instantly blasted into the wall.
Xiao Sinian and Qi Yin looked at each other.
There really was a secret behind this!
