80: Chapter 80 Testing the Waters

Her expression didn't look like she was joking.

Tian Zining's face immediately darkened, his grip tightening on the shotgun in his hand.

But he was also a bit apprehensive. He only knew that these people each had a gun, but he wasn't sure if they possessed Supernatural Abilities as well.

It would be best to resolve this through peaceful means.

"Then, what do you want?" Tian Zining asked through gritted teeth.

Qi Yin's gaze remained fixed on Wang Hui in his team.

After a long moment, she slowly raised her hand and pointed forward.

Right at Wang Hui!

"I want her! You can take as much fuel as you want."

Anyway, whatever was left would be hers.

For a moment, everyone fell silent.

Only Wang Hui suddenly looked up at Tian Zining, her eyes reflecting an expression that was hard to decipher.

It didn't look like a weakling's plea; instead, it seemed more like a threat.

Tian Zining hadn't expected this woman to be so blunt.

However, he thought of his mission; without Wang Hui, it would be impossible to complete.

Therefore, Tian Zining took a firm stance and refused.

"Not her. Pick someone else."

Qi Yin gave a mocking smile. She hadn't expected that in this day and age, someone would choose a person over supplies.

When her Spiritual power touched Wang Hui, it felt like a clay ox entering the sea, only able to perceive faint fluctuations.

Unable to see Wang Hui's Supernatural Ability clearly, she figured it must be the reason Tian Zining rejected her proposal.

What kind of ability was it exactly? She was actually quite curious.

Tian Zining's attitude was very forceful, leaving no room for negotiation, so Qi Yin had to drop it.

The blizzard was getting heavier. A thick layer of snow had already accumulated on her head; if she didn't leave soon, she'd turn into a snow sculpture.

"Fine, just a joke. Take as much oil as you want."

Qi Yin waved her hand. At worst, she could just launch a sneak attack from behind. Could Wang Hui fly away or something?

She turned around and called out to Lu Yanxiu and Lu Jinwen.

"The snow is too heavy. Let's take shelter before we leave."

The two were puzzled. As someone who would go out to kill zombies even in a heavy rainstorm, she was afraid of snow?

Despite their confusion, the two followed Qi Yin into the abandoned bungalow.

Not until the three disappeared from sight did Tian Zining pull Wang Hui in front of him.

He grabbed Wang Hui's collar, his tone extremely rude.

"I'm warning you, don't cause trouble for me, or I won't care who's backing you!"

Bah, if it weren't for that person's arrangement, why would he keep such a troublemaker in the team?

Along the way, whenever Wang Hui encountered zombies, she would either scream or yell like a lunatic.

Wang Hui struggled to break free, but clearly to no avail. She craned her neck and glared back.

"Just try it. I'm the only Spatial Ability user in the team. Without me, how are you going to take the gasoline back? How will you complete the mission?"

Speaking of this ability, she had to thank Lu Yingman for those few scratches; otherwise, she and her father wouldn't have awakened.

Nor would they have gained the favor of that mysterious person and found a foothold in this Apocalypse.

Thinking of Qi Yin's predatory gaze from earlier, Wang Hui added with thick skin.

"Also, I have a history with that woman. She's also an Ability User, and she doesn't seem weak. You'd better protect me, or I won't let any of you eat today."

After all, all the food was still in her space.

"You..."

Tian Zining practically wanted to strangle her to death. What he hated most in life was being threatened.

Fortunately, someone nearby pulled him back in time.

"Forget it, Brother Ning. The snow is getting heavier. Let's go inside and take shelter, then move when the snow lets up a bit later."

Given an out, Tian Zining took it and threw Wang Hui roughly onto the ground.

"That woman, what's her Supernatural Ability?" he asked.

With air suddenly rushing into her throat, Wang Hui was stimulated into a coughing fit.

"I heard it's Ice-type; she can manipulate snow!"

"Ice? That's a first." Tian Zining fell silent, waving his hand to lead the rest of the people toward the bungalow.

Meanwhile, Qi Yin and her group, who had already reunited, avoided all the zombies and found a small but relatively sturdy meeting room to sit in leisurely.

Chen Quan cleared off a clean table. Without a second thought, Qi Yin took out a brand-new tea set, her mood being quite excellent.

After a sip of hot tea, Qi Yin let out a long breath of relief.

"Ah, comfortable!"

The group looked at her, wanting to speak but hesitating.

"What are you looking at me for? You guys drink too! Aren't you cold?"

Only then did they move. Their bodies felt warmer, while the sound of zombies banging on the door outside grew louder.

Indeed, when Tian Zining's group appeared earlier, Qi Yin had told Chen Quan and the others to leave the zombies alone for now.

Lu Jinwen was straightforward and truly didn't understand why they were doing this.

Clearly, those people were no match for them; they should have just fought and been done with it.

"You'll know in a while," Qi Yin said mysteriously.

Tian Zining intentionally didn't go through the same door as Qi Yin to avoid conflict.

But the door he chose was actually connected. Upon entering, twenty or so zombies immediately turned around ferociously at the sound.

Soon, Qi Yin heard the sounds of fighting, Supernatural Ability bursts, and zombies falling to the ground outside the door.

Peering through the crack in the door, Tian Zining lived up to his reputation as a Lightning-type Ability User. His attacks were violent; with a sweep of lightning, three or four zombies fell.

The other Ability Users under him also showed off their skills. Even the middle-aged Wang Jianning used his heavy weight as a weapon, flattening zombies one by one with his backside.

Their coordination was fairly seamless.

Only Wang Hui, protected in the middle, appeared panicked when faced with the lunging zombies, nearly getting scratched several times.

Throughout the process, she seemed like an ordinary person without any Supernatural Ability.

But Qi Yin felt that her Spiritual power was never wrong; Wang Hui was definitely an Ability User.

A few minutes later, the space near Wang Hui's hand seemed to distort slightly.

Qi Yin rubbed her eyes. "Am I seeing things?"

It couldn't be what she was thinking, right?

She checked her watch—twenty minutes.

Qi Yin clicked her tongue; the efficiency didn't seem very high.

The zombies outside were cleared out. Two Ability Users in their team had been scratched and were bandaging their wounds.

Actually, Qi Yin wanted to say that for Ability Users, being scratched by a zombie was just a bit painful and wouldn't cause a secondary mutation.

Moreover, ordinary medicine was useless and would instead worsen the wound's rot.

Once that piece of flesh finished rotting and fell off, it would be fine.

It was just a bit ugly.

Qi Yin turned her head and made a gesture; it was time for them to head out.

Wen Yang moved the obstacles, and the group walked out of the room.

Qi Yin tried her best to adjust her expression. That perfectly timed and slightly fearful look made her teammates behind her unable to help but facepalm.

"That's too fake, Sis."

Qi Yin cupped her hands toward Tian Zining. "Thank you, friends, for taking action to clear these monsters. Otherwise, we would have had a hard time today. Sigh, we don't have much ability; we were truly scared witless just now."

Lu Jinwen was bumped by Lu Yanxiu before she cooperated by showing a lingering fear.

Tian Zining sized up the additional people, not sensing any Supernatural Ability from them.

But looking at their physiques, they didn't seem like the type to suffer at the hands of zombies. With a bit more time and brains, those zombies probably wouldn't have been their match either.

Furthermore, if it were really as Wang Hui said, this leading woman might be an Ability User.

Since some people were already injured, for now, it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Tian Zining waved his hand. "As long as we don't disturb each other!"

The group found a relatively clean corner and sat down.

Even though there was a shorter path, Wang Hui insisted on taking a detour, clearly trying to avoid someone.

At this moment, Qi Yin chuckled.

"What? It's only been how long, and Sister-in-law already doesn't recognize me?"
