78: Chapter 78 Mu Feng Submits

Qi Yin's principle was that no matter the type, every Supernatural Ability must serve the purpose of active offense.

Because of this, she had fought desperately to explore and crawl through piles of zombies in her past life, allowing her soft Water Element Ability to gain a sharp offensive edge.

If she could do it, then no one in her current team had an excuse for failing.

No Supernatural Ability was useless; only the Ability User who didn't know how to use it was useless.

Mu Feng looked up, a trace of confusion and contemplation flashing in his eyes.

He had always used it this way: lurking, scouting, and evading fatal attacks.

Qi Yin seemed to see right through his thoughts.

"You think stealth is just making yourself invisible to the enemy? It's not. High-level application is making yourself disappear completely."

"Disappear completely?" Mu Feng was utterly bewildered.

Qi Yin nodded, pacing with her hands behind her back.

"Correct. Not just your physical form, but also your presence, body temperature, and even the sounds produced when moving. You must truly merge with your surroundings and become a non-existent person."

She extended her right hand and lightly tapped the air. An extremely faint, hard-to-detect ripple of power spread out with her as the center.

Mu Feng was shocked to find that although Qi Yin was standing right in front of him, his perception of her became blurred, and he couldn't even feel the slight heat radiating from her body.

Is this what she meant by becoming a non-existent person?

This was something he couldn't possibly achieve at his current level.

Qi Yin withdrew her hand and explained, "This is Ability Concealment!"

"You can deceive all of the enemy's senses. Once you achieve this, you are no longer a shadow that needs to hide, but a ghost that can appear anywhere and deliver a fatal blow at any time."

Or rather, a phantom.

She looked at Mu Feng. "Your foundation is good; what you lack is direction and practice. Now, watch closely."

Mu Feng's eyes were filled with bloodshot excitement as he nodded vigorously.

Lu Yanxiu and the others were already Second-level Ability Users; only he remained at the first level.

He had to learn this skill.

Over the next few hours, Qi Yin began to systematically guide Mu Feng.

How to control his energy more precisely to cover more sensory details.

How to eliminate his footsteps while invisible, and how to use the air currents themselves to mask his movements.

Finally, how to suddenly launch an attack from extremely close range, and how to maintain partial invisibility during the attack to create even greater panic.

"Don't just think about approaching from a distance while lurking."

Qi Yin demonstrated a move, her figure flickering in space as she merged into the shadows behind Mu Feng's side.

However, her voice rang out from in front of Mu Feng.

"Close quarters is the most dangerous distance. Find the right moment and strike."

A fierce wind from a punch grazed past Mu Feng's ear.

Mu Feng broke into a cold sweat from the sudden attack.

"Too... too strong."

He finally understood why his Boss always said that Qi Yin was definitely no ordinary person.

Following Qi Yin's lead, Mu Feng began to figure out how to trade moves with her.

At first, he wasn't accustomed to this active offensive mode and was easily seen through and countered by Qi Yin several times.

But through constant adjustments, he gradually found the rhythm.

Finally, Mu Feng utilized a moment where Qi Yin's vision was obstructed after a block, completely concealing his presence and appearing in her blind spot like a ghost.

With a hand-knife strike, he barely managed to win this duel.

When it ended, both were breathing slightly heavily.

Mu Feng looked at his hands, his eyes filled with a new light, clearly still in a state of excitement.

A new door was opening for him.

He hesitated for a moment, looking at Qi Yin who was gulping down water, appearing as if he wanted to say something but held back.

Qi Yin swallowed a mouthful of energy-rich spiritual spring water. Sensing his state, she wiped her sweat with a towel.

"If you have something to say, say it. Don't beat around the bush."

Mu Feng stood up straight.

"Um... I'll just follow the others and call you Sister Yin."

"I had some prejudices against you before. I apologize. I thought..."

Pausing, Mu Feng reorganized his words.

"I thought the Boss left me behind more... more to monitor your every move. Looking at it now, I was narrow-minded. I didn't expect you to teach me everything like this."

Mu Feng couldn't help but mock himself. With Qi Yin's strength, taking his life would be easy; there was no place for him to 'monitor' her.

He feared that if he even dared to harbor a single dangerous thought, his head would have already hit the ground.

Moreover, at the time, he had always felt: how could an 'outsider' truly care for their group of brothers?

Qi Yin listened, her face showing no surprise.

"You're overthinking. I'm teaching you not for any other reason, but because of two things."

She held up two slender fingers.

"First, your ability has great potential. If used well, it's a powerful asset to me. I'm not an idiot who would refuse free labor."

"Second, and most importantly."

Her gaze was candid. "You are Xiao Sinian's man. Since he handed you over to me, I am your new leader. Since I've accepted that, I must be responsible for my people. That goes for you and for those twenty brothers. I'm simply being responsible for my team, it's that simple."

Mu Feng was stunned. Qi Yin was too blunt.

So blunt that the last bit of resentment and doubt in his heart vanished at this moment.

He understood that Qi Yin's trust and cultivation were based on strength and responsibility.

Rather than personal likes or dislikes.

It was a purity that commanded submission.

Mu Feng nodded heavily.

Qi Yin patted his shoulder and, like a magic trick, handed him a bottle of water.

It was the same kind she was drinking, a very simple bottle with no label.

"As long as you understand. Digest today's lessons well; we don't have much time left."

She had other plans and wouldn't wait too long.

Later that evening, Li Shi and Li Yun finally ate delicious fried chicken and burgers after many days, stuffing themselves until their bellies slightly protruded.

Qi Yin dissolved two first-level pure crystal cores into spiritual spring water and had them drink it.

The two didn't hesitate, swallowing it down and following Lu Jinwen back to their room to rest.

This level of trust made Qi Yin very satisfied.

As for why first-level crystal cores could awaken their abilities, it was because their Light-based Superpower already showed signs of awakening under natural conditions.

In this situation, using a third-level crystal core directly would cause the massive energy to make them explode and die.

A first-level crystal core was enough to serve as a catalyst.

A few minutes later, Lu Jinwen came out of their room.

"They've already fallen into a deep sleep."

This was the precursor to the awakening of a Supernatural Ability.

Qi Yin nodded and gathered everyone together.

"Our abilities have been stagnant for a long time, and we've mostly absorbed the crystal core energy. Now we just need an opportunity for advancement."

Upon hearing this, everyone knew her plan.

This was the signal that they were going out to find some action.

"We'll follow Sister Yin's arrangements!"

Everyone shouted in unison, clearly excited.

Seeing everyone so proactive, Qi Yin made the decision on the spot.

"Good, we set out tomorrow!"
