61: Chapter 61 The End of the Qi Family's Story: Father and Son

These two brothers were accidentally scratched by a small zombie while out looking for food previously.

They thought they were dead for sure, but unexpectedly, it was a blessing in disguise, and they luckily awakened a Supernatural Ability.

The Supernatural Ability that Zhang Da awakened fit his image well; his muscles bulged all over, and at a glance, he was clearly a strength-type fighter.

As for Zhang Er, it was likely a wood-element Supernatural Ability; to be honest, at the current stage, it could only be used to grow flowers and vegetables, making it quite useless.

However, this did give them special power that surpassed that of ordinary people.

Their ambition and greed expanded rapidly, and their previous petty thefts could no longer satisfy them.

Consequently, Qi Ming, who had struck it rich on the sixth floor, naturally became the lamb waiting to be slaughtered in their pockets.

At night, the rain seemed to ease up slightly.

Qi Ming had just completed a big deal and was lying happily on a broken sofa, admiring a gold necklace he had traded for two packs of instant noodles.

Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the door board flew inward.

He stood by the wall, gasping for air; if he hadn't reacted quickly, that door board would have crushed him.

Looking up, he saw the same two fierce gods from last time blocking his doorway.

Their eyes were even fiercer than before.

Thinking of his ribs that hadn't healed yet, Qi Ming forgot to pick up the gold necklace that had fallen to the floor.

These two were clearly targeting him.

"What do you want? The goods have all been sold."

Zhang Da stepped forward, the force of his movement causing chunks of plaster to fall from the wall.

"Sold out? Do you think we're fools?"

He grabbed Qi Ming by the collar, his gaze shifting to the locked storage room.

"Hand over the key."

With his throat constricted, Qi Ming struggled and shouted, "I don't have it, I really don't have it anymore."

Zhang Da snorted coldly, his muscles bulging, and he slapped him directly.

"You refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit."

With a crisp slap, Qi Ming saw stars, the side of his face instantly swelled up, and teeth mixed with blood fell to the floor.

Qi Mingyuan still couldn't move, and Lu Yingman, having been taught a lesson for backing down last time, screamed and rushed forward to stop them.

However, before she could get close, she was casually pushed aside by Zhang Er.

Her pampered body hit the wall, and she couldn't get up for a long time.

Soon, in the time it took for Qi Yin to eat a fruit platter, Qi Ming had been beaten to the brink of death.

Lying on the ground like a dead dog, this time, it wasn't just his ribs that were broken.

Zhang Er searched him for the key and easily opened the door to the storage room.

Looking at the pile of food inside, both their eyes lit up.

The two of them unceremoniously found several large bags and swept everything inside clean; even the gold necklace that had fallen to the floor did not escape their grasp.

"Haha, damn it, there's so much stuff, it's all ours now."

"Yeah, Big Brother, finally we don't have to go out looking for food."

They were extremely arrogant, and before leaving, Zhang Da kicked Qi Ming hard.

"Trash, learn your lesson next time."

Qi Mingyuan was still raging impotently, struggling from the bed, but his rotting leg couldn't support his body, and he rolled onto the floor.

He could only keep cursing Lu Yingman to vent his anger.

As for Qi Ming and Lu Yingman, looking at the looted storage room, they cried heart-wrenchingly.

It was only then that they realized.

This home was truly finished.

They thought this matter would just pass, and they could survive by waiting for food distributed by the authorities.

However, over the next two days, their true nightmare arrived.

Qi Ming and Qi Mingyuan's injuries worsened; there was no medicine, no food, and all the clean bottled water had been taken away by Zhang Da and Zhang Er.

They not only had to endure hunger but also fight against their damp, rapidly rotting wounds; the stench of the wounds even attracted flies.

Seeing their miserable state, Qi Yin couldn't help but click her tongue in satisfaction.

Of course, this miserable state was seen by Old Brother Wang, whose third floor was about to be flooded.

In the eyes of everyone, Old Brother Wang was an honest man who had a slightly irritable temper but was very good to his wife and children.

His and his wife's only daughter had turned into a zombie during the blood rain, and the two of them had locked her in their home with tears in their eyes.

This was the second big gift Qi Yin gave to Qi Ming.

Old Brother Wang and his wife originally relied on meager food reserves and occasionally going out to scavenge for food to maintain their livelihood.

But recently, their food had also run out.

The "daughter" was also making a lot of noise, and looking at the two half-dead men from that family on the sixth floor, a crazy and terrifying thought germinated in his already numb heart.

The rain at night gradually stopped, and Old Brother Wang, with trembling hands, opened his daughter's bedroom door.

Inside, his daughter, who was unrecognizable and could only hiss, smelled the scent of a living person and lunged forward.

Old Brother Wang dodged to the side, and together with his wife, used all their strength to tie up their daughter with a rope and drag her toward the sixth floor.

The Qi Family's door board was already broken, and the two old people couldn't be bothered to open the door, so they pushed their daughter into The Qi Family's home.

Then, they returned to the third floor and closed their own door.

They leaned their backs against the door, slid to the floor, and tears streamed down their old faces.

They knew that their daughter was gone for good.

And their zombie daughter, smelling the scent of "food" coming from The Qi Family, hissed and smashed open the last bedroom door.

"Ah!"

Lu Yingman's shrill scream pierced the night sky, and everyone in the whole building could hear it.

The instinct to survive overwhelmed everything, and while the zombie lunged at the easier targets of Qi Ming and Qi Mingyuan, she scrambled out of the door.

She rushed recklessly into the cold rain and sewage, swimming bit by bit toward higher ground.

She didn't even look back once.

In a panic, Qi Ming grabbed his phone again and dialed Wang Hui for help one minute before it shut down.

However, before the call could connect, the zombie drooled and rushed in front of him.

All night, the wails of Qi Ming and Qi Mingyuan and the crunching sounds of the zombie chewing echoed through the building.

They watched Lu Yingman's retreating back, wishing so much that she would come back to save them.

However, that was absolutely impossible.

Now, the rest of the survivors were even more afraid to come out.

The miserable state of The Qi Family father and son became another tragic song of the Apocalypse in a dark corner of this city.

Qi Yin turned off the screen, reached out to rub her brow, and felt a trace of fatigue.

Qi Ming and Qi Mingyuan also tasted what it felt like to be gnawed on by a zombie, and what it felt like to be abandoned by family.

To a certain extent, her revenge had been avenged.

But why didn't she feel very happy?

Seeing her strange expression, Wang Tianyu, who happened to be going out to pour water to drink, sat down beside her and refilled her coffee.

"Sister Yin actually has times when she isn't happy?"

Qi Yin came back to her senses and asked, "Where in this disgusting world is there anything that makes people feel happy?"

It's just terrible, this Apocalypse.

Thinking for a moment, Wang Tianyu took out a handkerchief, which was bulging because it was wrapped around something.

"Then take a look at this; maybe you'll be happy then?"

Qi Yin skeptically unfolded the handkerchief, and a translucent white light instantly filled her eyes.

"My God, Uncle Wang, when did this happen?"
