46: Chapter 46 Free Purchases and Deals
It wasn't just her; everyone on Qi Yin's side felt it was unbelievable.
Without prior knowledge, it would have been impossible to discover this entrance.
After Xiao Sinian and Qi Yin exchanged a look, he swam in first. The others followed, with Xiao Sinian's subordinates bringing up the rear.
Upon entering, everyone was so shocked by the sight before them that they forgot to breathe.
Compared to this, the warehouse supermarket outside was practically a utility room.
Qi Yin couldn't help but cough twice to hide her embarrassment.
Alright, her information was just too outdated.
This underground space was beyond her imagination; it was at least ten meters high and roughly the size of two or three football fields.
However, it was different from the naturally formed cave warehouses she had seen before.
This place had been reinforced and constructed with modern panels; given its sturdiness, it was clearly intentional.
Countless supplies were stacked neatly in this massive warehouse, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Various supplies were categorized on the shelves, with instructions attached that detailed the quantity of each type of item.
There were mountains of military compressed rations—twenty million boxes—along with two million cans of various meats, and sealed grains, beans, and sugar measured in the millions of tons.
There were also dehydrated vegetables and frozen meat, almost every item exceeding ten thousand tons. The sheer quantity was enough to drive any survivor in the Apocalypse crazy.
Everything was there, from clothing for all seasons and winter tents to various daily-life spare parts, equipment, and gasoline and diesel generators.
What Qi Yin expected even less was that for just a supermarket, was it really necessary to stockpile medical resources like immunoglobulin?
Except for weapons, this place basically covered all the resources one could use in the Apocalypse.
More importantly, every single item was packed in waterproof bags.
The person who arranged all this might have known in advance that a flood would eventually come.
By a rough estimate, if carefully planned, these supplies would be enough for a base of five hundred people to survive safely for three years in the Apocalypse.
Thus, this wasn't something stockpiled on a whim; it must have been a large-scale project completed by a massive organization through long-term, meticulous planning and enormous financial and material resources.
Qi Yin's voice came through the communicator: "Who... did this?"
In her memory, there was no record of any official body or high-society family doing such a thing.
Xiao Sinian floated in the water, his light sweeping over this breathtaking wealth.
His voice came through the mask, carrying a hint of complexity.
"Overseas forces. It's not clear yet who is behind it, but that doesn't matter. Now, these things belong to us."
Qi Yin didn't answer immediately. Possessing such a vast amount of supplies was certainly joyful.
However, for an overseas force to reach into the country, even into a place like Kyoto...
...and stockpile resources on such a scale, their goal was definitely not simple.
Moreover, since these mysterious people were also targeting Dr. Chen Jun, they must be after those Superweapons as well.
Perhaps that was the reason why no weapons were found here.
Qi Yin thought of the static sound that flashed when The Qi Family's surveillance disappeared; she felt something was wrong but couldn't put her finger on it.
This warehouse was a massive windfall; she might as well take it first.
Even if a trap awaited them later, she wasn't afraid.
Xiao Sinian sent his men away and let Qi Yin sweep all the supplies into her space.
He intended to give everything to her, but Qi Yin didn't agree; she wasn't the type to take advantage of others.
Since he provided the information, they stuck to the old rules: the supplies belonged to him, and Qi Yin would store them on his behalf for a fifteen percent storage fee.
Anyway, it was all zero-dollar shopping and getting a free ride; she'd take as much as there was.
Having completed the mission without any mishaps, Qi Yin didn't return to the shelter immediately. Instead, she drove an Assault boat alone toward the place where The Qi Family was currently staying.
The waterway wasn't winding, so it didn't take her much time.
Although this old residential area was somewhat far from the city center, fortunately, the terrain wasn't low, so it hadn't been flooded yet.
Following the location in her memory, it took Qi Yin only a few minutes to find where The Qi Family lived.
There were twelve buildings in this complex, each with eight floors and one household per floor. The Qi Family lived on the sixth floor.
Since the complex wasn't flooded, Qi Yin sent out a thread of Spiritual power to investigate the surroundings.
However, the range was limited; she could only probe up to three floors.
On her way up, everything was green except for a gray dot on the third floor.
This meant that in the family of three on the third floor, one person had likely been caught in the blood rain and mutated into a zombie.
The other two being fine for so long meant they had probably locked the zombie in a bedroom or something similar.
Qi Yin didn't stop at The Qi Family's door but went up to the unoccupied seventh floor and broke the lock with an Ice Cones.
Bypassing a room full of dusty furniture, she walked to the only window.
From here, she could still hear Qi Mingyuan and Qi Ming verbally abusing Lu Yingman.
Suppressing her inner discomfort, Qi Yin pulled a 360° miniature camera from her space; its battery could last for about three months.
The camera, hanging from an Ice Cones, silently slipped into the sixth-floor balcony under the control of her Spiritual power, settling in a corner with no blind spots.
A Folding computer appeared in Qi Yin's hand, and within seconds, she finished adjusting the channel.
The Qi Family's current situation appeared on the screen, with the audio recorded exactly as it was.
Qi Mingyuan's face was ashen, and his right leg was bent at an unnatural angle, only crudely splinted.
Looking closely, Qi Yin could see blood continuously seeping out.
A cold sneer played on her lips. Which "kind-hearted" person had done this?
Qi Ming was wolfing down the unpalatable food Lu Yingman had cooked, complaining incessantly.
One of their small rooms was entirely filled with a large amount of instant food—mostly easy-to-store items like instant noodles and self-heating hot pots.
Not bad, they were quite well-prepared.
Lu Yingman was the same as ever, submissively accepting their criticism without saying a word.
Qi Mingyuan finally spoke up, "All you know is how to eat. Who knows how long this rain will last? Eat sparingly! You, hurry up and find Qi Yin. She must be at your grandmother's villa. Tell her to come and pick us up immediately!"
With every sentence, he would clutch his crippled leg and wail a few times.
Hearing this, Lu Yingman's dull eyes instantly brightened, and she looked at Qi Ming expectantly.
"Yes, son, Yin Yin is so kind-hearted; she won't just leave us. Why don't you go look for her?"
Qi Ming, meanwhile, stuffed a huge bite of ham sausage into his mouth and licked his fingers.
Seeing a grown man act like that made Qi Yin feel incredibly disgusted.
"Why save? We have so much stuff; are you afraid we won't have enough to eat?"
As he spoke, a meaningful smile appeared on his face.
"I heard the owner of the convenience store outside made a fortune these past two days. If he can do it, why can't I?"
