86: Chapter 86 Six Sets of Temperature-Controlled Suits

Qi Yin looked at his resolute eyes, remained silent for a moment, and finally nodded.

"Alright, then... together?"

"Okay!" Xiao Sinian agreed straightforwardly.

The clothes they were wearing were really inconvenient; not only was the warmth retention poor, but they would also hinder movement when more zombies appeared later.

"Follow me."

Qi Yin found a corner and with a wave of her hand, a massive off-road RV appeared before them.

Its appearance immediately drew everyone's attention.

Especially the team members beside Xiao Sinian.

Zhou Le's eyes widened. "Whoa, Miss Qi's handiwork is as... impressive as ever!"

Qi Yin ignored his exclamation, pulled open the RV door, and tilted her chin toward Xiao Sinian.

"It's too cold outside, come up and talk."

Inside the RV, there were three rooms and a small lounge. The heating system had already started when they entered, making it a world of difference compared to the ice and snow outside.

The female team member, Lei Jun, who had been staying close to Lu Jinwen, felt the warmth and her body relaxed significantly. "This is so comfortable."

They had RVs like this too, but because they lacked storage space, they couldn't carry them around at all times.

Qi Yin walked into one of the rooms and brought out six silver-grey jumpsuits made of a special fabric. They were the same Constant Temperature Suits she and the others were wearing, and she shoved them into Xiao Sinian's arms.

Under Xiao Sinian's deep gaze, she tucked her hands into her pockets.

"Here, take them. Don't say I took your crystal cores for nothing. These Constant Temperature Suits can withstand extreme temperatures as low as minus one hundred degrees."

Xiao Sinian, holding the still-cool Constant Temperature Suits, was stunned for a moment.

Even with his meticulous planning and vast amount of supplies, he really hadn't thought to prepare something like Constant Temperature Suits.

These clothes were clearly custom-made by Qi Yin.

He looked down at the high-tech clothing in his hands, then looked up at the girl.

Although her face was expressionless and she intentionally maintained a cold demeanor, her eyes flickered to the side, as if she were reluctant to meet his gaze.

A classic case of being sharp-tongued but soft-hearted.

She clearly remembered his kindness, yet she insisted on putting up a front of "equal exchange, and now we're even."

Both awkward and considerate.

Xiao Sinian's heart softened, and the corners of his mouth curled up imperceptibly as he didn't refuse.

"Thanks."

He kept one suit and had Lei Jun distribute the rest. "Find a room and change."

Soon, the group emerged from the rooms and stood in a neat line in the lounge.

Mu Feng draped a long arm over Meng Xichi's shoulder and teased, "Now, we really look like one big family."

A tidy team of fourteen was thus born.

Lei Jun felt the comfortable fabric, her expression excited. "Miss Qi is amazing. This suit is much more comfortable than using my Supernatural Ability to endure the low temperatures."

Zhou Le, being smooth-tongued, called her "Sister" directly. "Sister Yin, you're too kind. You have no idea, my toes were almost frozen off during this time."

The other three team members were relatively reserved; they nodded vigorously in deep gratitude.

"Thank you, Miss Qi."

Qi Yin waved her hand. "You're welcome. Your boss exchanged crystal cores for them."

In the carriage, the atmosphere suddenly became much more harmonious as everyone began to whisper about how to adjust the temperature for maximum comfort.

Xiao Sinian fumbled around, failing to get it right even after a long while.

Qi Yin couldn't bear to watch any longer and stepped in to help. "How can you be so stupid?"

She didn't see how bright Xiao Sinian's smiling eyes were above her.

Once finished, Qi Yin looked at the neat line of people, very satisfied with her handiwork.

"Alright, five minutes to check your gear, then we set out."

Finally, she added, "To avoid unnecessary trouble during the mission, we need to choose a captain. What does everyone think?"

Everyone looked at each other, their gazes toward her filled with innocence.

Zhou Le quietly raised his hand. "Sister Yin, why don't you and the boss just discuss it and decide?"

Qi Yin slapped her forehead. Right, her brain must have been infected by Xiao Sinian's stupidity.

She looked up and met Xiao Sinian's cold, hard eyes.

"What do you say?"

Xiao Sinian waved his long arm. "You do it. I'm not up for it."

Zhou Le and the others: ...Boss, we really can't watch this!

Since Xiao Sinian deferred to her, Qi Yin saw no reason to refuse; besides, she was more familiar with the Medical University.

"Then, we'll act according to the situation later."

The group left the supermarket area, which was filled with a faint scent of blood, and continued toward the Lin City Medical University.

Qi Yin took the lead, with Xiao Sinian following closely in a protective stance.

The others marched on, staying alert for any zombies in the vicinity.

The closer they got to the school, the thicker the air seemed to become, and an indescribable, faint smell of chemical reagents wafted into everyone's nostrils.

Fortunately, their masks could filter out some of the odor.

The snow beneath their feet grew deeper, nearly reaching their thighs, making every step a struggle.

Occasionally, they could see the limbs of zombies wearing white lab coats or isolation suits.

"This damn place... why does it feel even creepier than outside?" Lu Jinwen whispered, instinctively moving closer to Meng Xichi, who was walking beside her.

Meng Xichi pulled her in front of him. "You go first; I'll watch the rear."

"Okay."

Qi Yin raised her hand, signaling everyone to stop.

She closed her eyes and expanded her Spiritual power.

Behind the street were vast clusters of grey dots, but none of them were moving.

They were likely trapped by the snow; as long as they kept their movements quiet, they should be able to bypass the zombie horde and reach the school directly.

Qi Yin warned through the communicator, "Keep it down. Don't alert the zombie horde."

Finally, they passed through the messy commercial street, and the Lin City Medical University, surrounded by high walls, appeared at the end of their vision.

Xiao Sinian said in a low voice, "We've arrived."

Qi Yin nodded, her gaze scanning the surroundings before finally landing on the third floor of a relatively intact street-side shop. It was directly across from the Medical University and could serve as a temporary observation point.

But there were at least a hundred zombies inside the shop.

Her gaze swept over everyone, and she made a hand gesture.

"Enter through that window and clear out the zombies inside. Remember, don't use guns; keep the noise down."

"Xiao Sinian and I will lead a team through the front. Brother Xu and Zhou Le, find an opportunity to clear the blind spots from the back. Uncle Chen, you guys stay outside on guard."

Everyone responded in low voices, "Understood."

The team split up quickly, with Qi Yin and Xiao Sinian leading four members across the road to approach the shop's main entrance.

The door was broken, and the snow couldn't mask the stench of decay inside, which was nauseating.

Qi Yin nodded to Xiao Sinian, and together they pushed the door open quietly.

As soon as they approached, several withered, bluish-purple arms reached out from inside, accompanied by sharp, raspy groans.

"Do it!"

Qi Yin barked a low command, the dragon-patterned tang saber instantly appearing in her hand as she charged in first.

Xiao Sinian drew the phoenix feather from his back with a backhand grip. With a flash of cold light, he charged into the dim first floor of the shop with her, as if they were in a competition.

Blades clashed! Severed limbs flew everywhere.
