56: Chapter 56 The Stinky Little White
Enduring the dizziness and stinging pain from her Spiritual power being almost completely drained.
Qi Yin squeezed out the last trace of energy within her body, condensing it in her hand into her favorite dragon-patterned tang saber.
The dragon-patterned tang saber seemed to have taken on physical form, carrying a terrifying chill.
Using all her remaining strength, she aimed at the zombie's head and threw it fiercely.
"Splat!"
Black blood gushed out.
The ice saber pierced precisely through the Mutated Zombies's head. An intense cold spread instantly, freezing the zombie's remaining disgusting body.
A few seconds later, accompanied by a faint cracking sound, the frozen torso hit the ground and shattered into several pieces.
The massive exertion left Qi Yin feeling drained, and she knelt on one knee.
Won!
She tried to redeem a recovery potion from the Doomsday Mall to swallow, but this unprecedented consumption of her Supernatural Ability had hollowed out her body.
Coupled with the fact that she had already used an energy-restoring pill earlier, the potion didn't have much effect.
The fall of the Mutated Zombies gave her time to catch her breath.
Qi Yin could only lean against the wall, panting heavily. Bead after bead of sweat dripped onto the floor, gathering into a small puddle.
However, the crisis had not been resolved.
The frost she had released earlier lost its effect. Without the command of the Mutated Zombies, the group of ordinary zombies below became chaotic.
Their numbers were still massive. Attracted by the scent of a living human, Qi Yin, they were continuously shuffling up the stairwell.
A dark, dense mass of them was less than ten meters away from her current position.
Watching the approaching horde of corpses, a bitter smile appeared at the corner of Qi Yin's mouth.
The desperate struggle just now had exhausted all her Supernatural Ability and stamina; now, even standing up was difficult.
Let alone dealing with this dense crowd of zombies.
If it really came to it, she would have to enter her space to hide for a while.
Once the zombie horde lost its target, they would disperse before long.
By then, she would have recovered enough, and it wouldn't be too late to go back out.
Just as Qi Yin was pondering, a familiar and somewhat urgent mental fluctuation echoed deep in her mind.
"Master, let me out! Let me kill those bastards!"
Little White?
Qi Yin frowned slightly and shifted her thoughts.
A flash of white light streaked by, and Little White, a half-grown tiger a size larger than her, appeared out of thin air.
The golden 'King' marking on its forehead glowed with golden light, and its eyes, unlike their usual gentleness, displayed the ferocity that truly belonged to a wild beast.
This was the first time she had seen Little White looking so majestic; it was quite novel.
"Awoo!"
Little White let out a tiger roar that was slightly immature but already possessed a hint of power.
It seemed very dissatisfied with the dense crowd of "food" before it.
It turned back, rubbed its fluffy head against Qi Yin, and then turned around.
Facing the zombies that were like leeks, coming in wave after wave, its amber pupils instantly turned cold and bloodthirsty.
While Qi Yin was still stunned, Little White moved.
Its speed was extremely fast, like a bolt of lightning, as it lunged into the zombie horde.
Its pink paw pads extended sharp claws, carrying a sharp whistling wind, easily tearing through the fragile necks of the zombies.
It was the kind that took out a dozen with one swipe.
Its tail, usually used for acting cute, wasn't idle either; it whipped out with great force, and every single zombie it hit was shattered into pieces on the ground.
Its gaping maw was even more exaggerated, with astonishing bite force; it took one head per bite, munching and crunching them down.
It made Qi Yin feel nauseous.
Little White was too disgusting. She would have to educate it properly later; it definitely needed to rinse its mouth when they got back.
Little White didn't know yet that it was being disliked by its Master; its fighting style was incredibly wild.
It always managed to precisely avoid all attacks and then find the weakness to kill in one strike.
For a time, severed limbs and corpses flew everywhere, and black blood splattered.
Wild and brutal, it single-handedly slaughtered the thousands of zombies on the three floors, leaving them scattered and decimated.
The hospital, which had been filled with hissing and chewing sounds upon her arrival, became deathly silent in less than three minutes.
If one didn't know the truth, they would think they had seen a ghost.
What surprised Qi Yin even more was that every time Little White killed a batch of zombies, it would dig the crystal core out of their shattered heads.
Then, wagging its tail happily, it would carry them to her feet and rub against her, as if asking for credit.
This sequence of actions was repeated countless times.
Looking at the growing pile of crystal cores beside her that were gradually forming a small mountain, and then looking at Little White continuously weaving through the zombie horde, Qi Yin's heart surged with shock.
"Xiao Yu, what exactly is Little White's identity?"
Xiao Yu was resting on the pomegranate tree; upon hearing Qi Yin's call, it lazily yawned.
It said slowly, "I know it is a product of heaven and earth, existing to protect a world!"
Qi Yin frowned. Protect a world?
That explained the direction of Little White's terrifying strength.
At this moment, Little White finished off the last wave of "food," its mouth full of a pile of crystal cores, which it gently placed at her feet.
Qi Yin reached out and stroked its head, which was stained with patches of black and red, feeling both relieved and heartbroken.
If possible, she still hoped Little White could just be a happy little tiger.
However, she did not yet have enough strength to protect it.
Therefore, she needed to keep getting stronger.
"By the way, Little White, how are you able to communicate with me directly now?"
It seemed that before, the two of them could only rely on guessing, which often had some discrepancies, though not major ones.
Little White wagged its tail vigorously, its gaping maw splitting open—it was smiling.
But Qi Yin found it quite creepy.
"Hehe, Master, I secretly ate five big jades. When I woke up, I sensed you were in danger, and then as soon as I spoke, you heard me!"
Qi Yin nodded. In that case, as long as there was enough energy, Little White's abilities could improve as it leveled up.
However, Little White just said, secretly ate?
Qi Yin grabbed Little White's large ears.
"What did I tell you before, Little White?"
Little White let her do as she pleased, not dodging, just looking aggrieved.
"I'm sorry, Master. You said to eat it little by little, but I was too hungry."
"Besides, I'm grown up now. Eating a few pieces of jade won't make me sleep for a long time; one night is enough."
"Fine. In consideration of you helping me a lot today, I'll forgive you."
Little White put its two front paws together and made a bowing motion.
"Master is the best!"
Qi Yin curled her lip and simply rinsed the crystal cores at her feet with spiritual spring water.
Then, a drop of warm water fell on the back of her hand.
Looking up, she discovered that the water was actually Little White's drool.
This guy's eyes were practically sparkling as it stared at the crystal cores.
Could crystal cores also be food for Little White?
"Want to eat?"
Little White nodded its big head frantically.
"Mm-hmm, Master, Little White wants to eat."
After thinking about it, Qi Yin asked, "Then which do you prefer, the jade or the crystal core?"
Little White shook its head, seemingly thinking seriously.
"crystal cores, they have more energy!"
"You can directly absorb the energy inside the crystal cores?"
Wasn't it said that crystal cores carried the zombie virus? Wouldn't Little White mutate if it ate them directly?
Little White seemed not to understand why its Master would ask that, but still answered honestly.
"I can, just chew them up and swallow them, right?"
"There's a virus in there. If you eat it, you won't turn into a monster and kill me, right?"
Little White shook its big head repeatedly in fright.
"No, no! The zombie virus targets you ordinary humans, animals, and plants. I don't belong to those categories; I'm very powerful!"
The way it shook its head, it was very proud.
Qi Yin only wanted to say, Stuck-up Little White!
