29: Chapter 29 Teaching Mu Feng a Lesson

In the three days between the auction and heading to the mine to collect raw stones, the underground training ground of the hilltop villa shelter had never been quiet.

Since Lu Yanxiu had awakened a primary Supernatural Ability, after obtaining Xiao Sinian's consent, he joined the small team training with Qi Yin and the others.

In his own words, he was afraid that before long, Xiao Sinian would simply pack him up and throw him into her team.

Regarding this, Qi Yin was all for it.

Training time was very tight, and after a quick, simple meal, the rigorous training began again.

Qi Yin was dedicated to leveling up, so she spent a large portion of her time accumulating combat experience in the spatial simulation field, using only a portion of her time to instruct her team members.

Lu Jinwen, Chen Quan, and the other five threw all their energy into familiarizing themselves with and controlling their newly awakened Supernatural Abilities.

Chen Quan's precision and consumption of power, Lu Jinwen's perception, shaping, and offensive use of metal, Xu Yongning's coordination of strength and speed, Wang Tianyu's guidance of healing energy;

Wen Yang's affinity for earth shields, as well as the intensity of Jiang Yao's electronic interference, all saw significant improvements during training.

Everyone was challenging their own limits, and the air was often filled with the heat and humming caused by various energy fluctuations.

Lu Yanxiu's flame had astonishing destructive power, and it was difficult to control precisely in the early stages, nearly setting the training ground on fire several times.

Fortunately, the materials of Qi Yin's training ground were special.

Under Qi Yin's cold gaze and Chen Quan's guidance, Lu Yanxiu gradually found the knack for controlling his Supernatural Ability.

Only Xiao Sinian had been playing hide-and-seek ever since the auction ended that day.

Qi Yin didn't ask; she just trained even harder.

Three days later, early in the morning, Lu Yanxiu drove Qi Yin to the inconspicuous mine that now belonged to them.

Mining operations were running efficiently under the operation of Xiao Sinian's team, with machines roaring and dust flying.

When Qi Yin and Lu Yanxiu arrived, the first truckload of raw stones had already been sorted and piled to the side.

After clearing the workers away and just as she was preparing to collect them, several figures appeared on the edge of the mine pit.

It was Xiao Sinian, who had been missing for three whole days.

Behind him stood Mu Feng and four men and one woman whom Qi Yin did not recognize.

They wore standard combat uniforms, their clothing even looking a bit worn, and they followed silently behind Xiao Sinian's wheelchair.

Their footsteps were synchronized, silent, as if they were natural background props.

But Qi Yin could sense that these people couldn't just be simple bodyguards.

They seemed to carry an aura of having crawled out from the very bottom of a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood—a kind of deathly silence that came from internalizing and sedimenting all slaughter and death.

They swept their gazes across the busy workers, finally landing on Qi Yin.

The gaze held no provocation, no evaluation; it was as if they had merely seen her.

If Qi Yin hadn't also crawled back from a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, she might have been intimidated by their presence.

In her eyes, they were nothing special.

Xiao Sinian looked up at Qi Yin, his mask obscuring his expression, but his voice remained steady.

"This is the team responsible for mining operations and the transport of some special supplies; they are also key members of my team. You can get to know them slowly. Like Yan Xiu, you can use them whenever you need."

As soon as he spoke, except for Mu Feng, who was looking at the sky and was already used to this, the others exchanged glances and only then began to size up Qi Yin seriously.

Qi Yin's gaze swept over the people behind him who carried a heavy scent of blood and an aura of death, finally returning to Xiao Sinian.

She seemed to understand where this man had gone these past three days.

She also realized with extreme clarity once again that the power this "ally" controlled went far beyond the immense wealth and technology visible on the surface.

Qi Yin acknowledged him, suppressing the strange feeling in her heart: "Mm, let's get to work!"

She turned and walked toward the pile of raw stones, no longer looking at the team behind him.

Xiao Sinian didn't turn back, only giving a quiet order to the people behind him.

"Turn around!"

The group didn't hesitate and complied.

One after another, countless truckloads of raw stones were transferred into her space. When a thin layer of sweat beaded on Qi Yin's forehead, she had finally emptied the entire mountain.

She casually wiped away the sweat about to drip from the corner of her eye, a hint of a light smile appearing on her face.

"Thanks. The money has already been transferred to your account."

The value of this mine was far beyond estimation, so Qi Yin not only put up all the funds she had on hand but also returned a 5% storage fee to Xiao Sinian.

However, Xiao Sinian just watched her silently: "No need, just consider it a gift for our cooperation."

Qi Yin didn't say anything else, but the money she had given out was definitely not going to be taken back.

One thing is one thing; she was the type of person who wouldn't accept rewards without earning them.

The owner himself had no objections, but Mu Feng, behind him, let out a sneer.

"Truly, people who are shameless are invincible."

Xiao Sinian's expression immediately darkened, and his fingers drummed against his knees.

Those who knew him knew this was a precursor to his anger.

"Mu Feng, go accept your punishment. Don't let there be a next time."

Afterward, he looked at Qi Yin with an apologetic expression.

"Sorry, I didn't manage my subordinates well."

However, Qi Yin was not the type to smooth things over and willingly suffer a loss.

She would take revenge for herself.

She had been annoyed with this Mu Feng for a long time.

An ice spike condensed out of thin air in her palm, and with a wave of her hand, it flew toward Mu Feng's head with a piercing sound.

"Hiss."

Only hearing Mu Feng grunt, the next second, a nearly five-inch bloody gash appeared on his face, radiating a bone-chilling cold that intensified the pain.

Mu Feng was instantly enraged, but he was shouted down by a single look from Xiao Sinian, forcing him to unwillingly back down.

Regarding this turn of events, neither Xiao Sinian nor Lu Yanxiu spoke up for him.

After all, it was Mu Feng who had spoken offensively first.

And the five people who had been standing behind Xiao Sinian just now, seeing the wound on Mu Feng's face and the ice spike that had appeared out of thin air, all revealed looks of astonishment.

Qi Yin turned around, expressionless: "Let's go!"

Suddenly, the evening at the mountaintop was broken by the roar of engines.

Through the dense forest, Qi Yin saw about five black off-road vehicles break through the roadblocks they had set up and drive wildly along the mountain road.

She glanced at the silent Xiao Sinian, and she had an idea of what was going on.

Lu Yanxiu's expression turned cold: "It's Old Master Xiao's people. Boss, I'm afraid they are here to take a slice of the pie."

Xiao Sinian's eyes were cold; he toyed with the gun in his hand, not speaking, but looking at Qi Yin instead.

"Need a hand?"

Qi Yin glanced at the people behind him who were eager to move, and rolled her eyes at Xiao Sinian.

"Can't you handle it yourself?"

Regarding this, Xiao Sinian was noncommittal: "They are all just injured, and the raw stones all went into your pocket."

As he said this, he also glanced at the palm of Qi Yin's hand, which was still emitting cold air, and raised an eyebrow.

"Besides, isn't this just the right opportunity for you and Yan Xiu to practice?"

Qi Yin tightened her ponytail, her tongue subconsciously licking her teeth.

"Since you put it that way, then I won't be polite."

It's just the right time to test the results of these two days of practice.

She turned back and shot a knowing look at the equally excited Lu Yanxiu: "Are you ready?"

A small flame danced on Lu Yanxiu's hand, and he gave a heavy grunt of affirmation.

And the few people behind Xiao Sinian who had been forced to be injured stared fixedly at that flame, beginning to question their lives.

Were they still on Earth right now?
