173: Chapter 173 Life is pretty good now

Outside the floor-to-ceiling glass of the Hong Kong Island International Airport, everything was incredibly busy.

Liu Zijun walked out of the airport carrying a simple black suitcase, a wave of humid air greeting him.

Just as he stepped out of the arrivals gate, the phone in his pocket vibrated.

Unlocking the screen, an anonymous text message popped up with only six short words: "Watch your step while working."

His fingertips brushed over the screen, and a playful smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

He didn't even need to think to know that this was likely a warning from above, worried he might cause trouble again.

Putting his phone away, he scanned the crowd and quickly locked onto his target.

At the parking lot entrance, standing next to a flashy bright yellow Lamborghini sports car, was a man wearing a floral shirt.

He was leaning against the car body scrolling through his phone, his permed and dyed brown curly hair particularly eye-catching in the sun—who else could it be but Lin Canfeng.

Lin Canfeng suddenly looked up, took off his sunglasses, revealing a pair of peach blossom eyes, and sized Liu Zijun up with a clicking sound of his tongue.

“Not bad! A Jun, I never would have thought that the once-dreaded Lone Wolf would now become an idol's exclusive boyfriend.

If you told me this before, I wouldn't have believed it even if you killed me.”

As he spoke, his gaze circled Liu Zijun, his tone full of teasing.

“Setting aside f(x)'s Choi Sulli, there are even dating rumors with Girls Generation's Im Yoona. You've snatched up the visuals of The Peninsula's top girl groups; are you opening a second front on The Peninsula?”

Liu Zijun shook his head helplessly, opened the car door, and sat in the passenger seat: “Don't talk nonsense, it's just normal dating.”

Lin Canfeng started the car, the engine letting out a low roar.

“The internet is going crazy. Choi Sulli went public with the relationship, and the junsulli cp is topping the charts. You've hidden your bodyguard identity well.”

The sports car merged smoothly into traffic. The Hong Kong Island streetscape flew past the window, with skyscrapers and old-style shophouses intermingling, showcasing the city's inclusivity and prosperity.

Liu Zijun leaned back in his seat, looked out the window, and spoke directly: “Help me get an introduction to the people at Emperor Entertainment Group.”

Lin Canfeng laughed: “Now every time you open your mouth, you can't stay away from the entertainment industry? If there's something wrong, I can help.”

Liu Zijun smiled: “Girls Generation's Jessica Jung is collaborating on a fashion brand with Emperor Entertainment Group's partner, Kwon Young-il. Young-il promised capital injection and distribution channels, but now he's run back to Hong Kong Island, seemingly intending to play her for a fool.”

He briefly and concisely explained Jessica Jung's predicament, including the 5 billion korean won loan, the binding of the Girls Generation label, and Kwon Young-il's stalling.

After listening, Lin Canfeng raised an eyebrow and gave the steering wheel a sharp turn, the sports car nimbly swerving to avoid a truck ahead.

“I'd say you're just bored, chasing after a Peninsula idol's mess all the way to Hong Kong Island.

Before, you couldn't even be bothered to manage your own affairs, but now, you're managing someone else's brand disputes.

I say, A Jun, do you like Peninsula female stars that much? Are our Chinese female stars not pretty enough, or can't you catch them?”

Liu Zijun said calmly: “She might be my future sister-in-law.”

Lin Canfeng understood instantly and let out a whistle.

“Got it. For the sake of the future sister-in-law, we have to help with this.

But seriously, your temper is indeed much better now. In the past, if anyone dared to make you worry like this, you would have tossed them aside long ago.”

Lin Canfeng paused, his tone becoming a bit more serious.

“This is good. Living a stable life with people you care about is better than the days of swords and shadows.”

“I'm also very satisfied with my life now. Although it's not as passionate, this kind of stable life brings me a lot of peace.”

Liu Zijun glanced at him and said: “You're indeed in a good state! Thanks for the hard work!”

Lin Canfeng suddenly said solemnly: “Since we chose that path, being able to retire alive is a blessing.”

Liu Zijun didn't respond, but the smile at the corner of his mouth deepened.

He also cherished his current life, with Choi Sulli's dependence, Im Yoona's cuteness, Son Ye-jin's tolerance, and now Krystal Jung's shyness.

These ordinary moments of warmth were things he had never possessed before.

Lin Canfeng suddenly said: “There's a cocktail party tonight, and Emperor Entertainment Group's Yang Xiaoyu will be there. That kid is alright; he even wants to chase my older sister.

I'll take you to see him tonight and clear things up while we're at it.”

Liu Zijun nodded: “Thanks for the trouble.”

“Don't be so polite with me.” Lin Canfeng waved his hand.

At the same time, another flight from Seoul was checking in.

Jessica Jung carried a small suitcase, her face pale but her eyes determined.

She had thought about it all night and still couldn't stop worrying about the brand.

Kwon Young-il's phone calls were always vague, so she could only fly to Hong Kong Island herself to ask for clarification in person.

After getting off the plane, she took a taxi straight to Kwon Young-il's apartment in Repulse Bay, with only one thought in her mind.

She had to make Kwon Young-il fulfill his promise—either inject the capital or hand over the distribution resources; otherwise, her 5 billion loan and years of savings would truly go down the drain.

At dusk, the top-tier private club on Hong Kong Island, 'Cloud Summit Pavilion,' was brightly lit.

Elegant silhouettes moved amidst the clinking of glasses. Men and women in gorgeous formal wear mingled, the air filled with the scent of champagne bubbles and high-end perfume.

Liu Zijun wore a black handmade shirt that made his figure look even more upright. Under the crystal chandeliers, his well-defined face had less of its usual gentleness and more of a compelling aura.

Lin Canfeng was still in his mix-and-match floral shirt and suit trousers, holding a glass of champagne, chatting and laughing with several business people.

“Ji-Jun, come over and meet someone.”

Lin Canfeng beckoned. Standing beside him was a slightly chubby young man in a suit, one of the future heirs of Emperor Entertainment Group, Yang Xiaoyu.

Yang Xiaoyu sized up Liu Zijun with a look of scrutiny and perfunctoriness, extending his hand for a symbolic shake: “Mr. Liu, I've heard much about you.”

Clearly, he did not take Liu Zijun seriously.

Lin Canfeng saw his contempt and laughed, patting Liu Zijun on the shoulder.

“Kid, don't look down on Ji-Jun. He's a brother I've faced death with, and his father is Liu Qingmu; I'm sure you must have heard of him.”

As soon as the words 'faced death' and 'Liu Qingmu' came out, the perfunctoriness on Yang Xiaoyu's face vanished without a trace. His pupils contracted slightly, and he hurriedly reached out again, shaking Liu Zijun's hand firmly, his tone becoming incredibly warm.

“So it's Mr. Liu! I've heard of your great name for a long time. I heard long ago that Mr. Liu has an excellent son, and seeing you today, you truly live up to the reputation!”

He secretly felt lucky that he hadn't been too disrespectful.

Liu Zijun calmly withdrew his hand, his tone flat: “Mr. Yang is too polite. I came to Hong Kong Island this time because I want to talk to you about Kwon Young-il.”

Yang Xiaoyu's eyes flickered as he asked in confusion: “Who is Kwon Young-il?”

Lin Canfeng smiled and said: “A Korean partner of your Emperor Entertainment Group.”

Just then, a small commotion came from the entrance of the club.

Kwon Young-il, wearing a black suit, entered somewhat cautiously.
