70: Chapter 70 I am oppa
The footsteps of the Chinese Spring Festival were drawing near, and the festive atmosphere was incredibly thick.
Lin Wanrou had long since prepared a guest room for Choi Sulli, right next door to Liu Zijun's room.
The bedding had been freshly aired by Grandfather and Grandmother in the afternoon, carrying the scent of sunshine.
Liu Jianguo had even specially placed two pots of blooming narcissus flowers, elegant and cozy.
Liu Zijun watched, stunned. Since when had his old man been this gentle?
“Jin-ri, you must be exhausted from the trip today. Get some rest early. If you need anything, call me anytime.”
Lin Wanrou patted Choi Sulli's hand, her eyes full of affection.
Choi Sulli nodded obediently and said in her still-unfluent Chinese, “Thank you, Auntie. You should rest early too.”
After washing up, Choi Sulli lay on the soft bed, but she wasn't sleepy at all.
She patted her own small cheeks, which were gradually turning red.
Aya! Choi Sulli, you really are too bold!
Luckily, Joon oppa's family is very kind and likes me, otherwise, what would you have done!
She scolded herself inwardly for a moment before burying her head under the covers and giggling secretly.
The moonlight outside spilled through the gaps in the wooden window frames, and she stared at it blankly for a long time.
Her mind was filled with Liu Zijun's figure; the more she thought about him, the redder her face became.
It was already very late, but Choi Sulli couldn't sleep. She pricked up her ears and listened quietly.
She suddenly flipped over and sat up, her gaze gradually becoming determined.
She quietly got out of bed and stepped barefoot onto the wooden floor, her movements as light as a kitten's.
She walked to the door, gently pulled it open a crack, and peeked left and right.
The corridor was silent.
Because her and Liu Zijun's rooms were in the second courtyard, they were quite far from where Liu Zijun's Grandfather and Grandmother and parents stayed.
She took a deep breath, tiptoed toward Liu Zijun's room next door, and gently twisted the doorknob. The door wasn't locked and opened with a turn.
In fact, Liu Zijun had woken up the moment Choi Sulli opened her own door, but he pretended to be fast asleep.
He sighed in his heart, feeling a bit helpless yet also a bit expectant.
Choi Sulli walked softly to the bedside, knelt down, and used the moonlight from outside to carefully examine his face.
Those previously cold and hard lines had softened much in his hometown and in the night. His long eyelashes cast faint shadows over his eyelids, and his breathing was even.
She reached out a finger, tentatively trying to touch the bridge of his brow. Just as her finger was about to make contact, Liu Zijun suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed her hand.
Their eyes met. Choi Sulli's heart skipped a beat, and she froze in place like a child caught doing something wrong. Her cheeks instantly flushed crimson, and she instinctively tried to pull her hand back.
“Jin-ri, why aren't you sleeping yet?”
Liu Zijun's voice was low and a bit raspy, but there was no hint of blame; it was incredibly gentle.
Choi Sulli bit her lip, summoned her courage, and climbed onto the bed. She slipped into Liu Zijun's covers, gently hugged his waist from behind, and pressed her cheek against his back, her voice trembling slightly.
“Oppa, I want to be with you.”
“I want to become your woman, to belong to you completely.”
Although he had anticipated this, Liu Zijun's body still stiffened for a moment. Then he turned around, looking at her moist eyes and persistent gaze.
After returning these past few days, the longing had made him even more certain of his feelings for this girl.
From the initial promise to protect her to the current state of constant worry, he had long since become unable to leave her.
His previous hesitation was because he feared she was too young and that this relationship would affect her career.
The rejection that night was also because her state of mind wasn't right; that wasn't what either of them wanted.
But seeing her unreserved trust now, it seemed all his concerns had vanished into thin air.
He raised his hand and gently stroked her short hair, which had grown a bit longer, his tone low and serious.
“Jin-ri, have you thought this through?”
Choi Sulli nodded heavily, and tears of happiness fell.
Blushing but smiling, she said, “I've thought it through. From the moment I decided to come find you from The Peninsula, I've thought it through.”
Liu Zijun said no more and reached out to pull her tightly into his embrace.
“But you also know about Yoona?”
Choi Sulli suddenly gave his shoulder a bite and said, “Don't mention Yoona Unnie, or Yejin Unnie!”
Liu Zijun chuckled and asked, “You know everything?”
Choi Sulli huffed, “Oppa! You're not a good person! You're a baddie!”
Liu Zijun held her even tighter!
“Stop talking! From now on, you can only be mine! Oppa! Kiss me!”
The moonlight outside grew softer, and the air in the room gradually became ambiguous and burning hot.
There were no more words, only their hurried breathing and heartbeats interlaced together.
Choi Sulli felt his body temperature and strength, her heart filled with stability and joy. She knew that she finally belonged to him completely.
That night, the spring night was short, and the scent of winter jasmine outside seemed to become even more lingering.
Early the next morning, Choi Sulli woke up in Liu Zijun's arms, roused by her phone's ringtone.
She looked at the sleeping man beside her, a sweet smile unconsciously forming on her lips as she carefully planted a kiss on his cheek.
She felt her whole body was sore and soft; she had been a bit wild last night!
Liu Zijun opened his eyes and looked at her, seeing the happy smile in her eyes. He reached out to pull her closer, his hands becoming a bit restless.
“Why did you set your alarm so early?”
Choi Sulli trembled and suddenly slapped his hand away, saying, “Oppa! Stop moving around. I have to get back quickly, otherwise if Auntie and the others find out, I'll die of embarrassment!”
Liu Zijun didn't listen to her; instead, he became even more bold.
“Weren't you very brave last night? They might have already guessed!”
“No! Oppa, stop touching!”
Blushing, Choi Sulli put on her pajamas and escaped from Liu Zijun's clutches.
Before leaving, she leaned down and gave him a light kiss on the corner of his lips, her voice soft and sweet. “Oppa, I'm so happy.”
“Me too.”
Liu Zijun looked up and kissed her on the forehead.
From that day on, Choi Sulli completely integrated into Liu Zijun's life.
During the day, she would follow Lin Wanrou to learn how to cook Chinese dishes. Although she often made a mess of the kitchen—either adding too much salt or burning the food—Lin Wanrou was very patient and taught her step-by-step.
Occasionally, she would also follow Chen Qing to the town market to buy groceries. She listened to the locals chatting in their dialect; although she couldn't understand most of it, she found it exceptionally lively.
When Liu Zijun was free, he also took her for a stroll in the city.
Old Wang and Old Li had reported to their superiors when Choi Sulli arrived, and the reply they received was to leave them alone.
So regarding Liu Zijun going to the city, they also turned a blind eye.
In fact, they knew that Liu Zijun didn't want to leave; otherwise, how could they possibly keep an eye on him?
Liu Zijun and Choi Sulli were like an ordinary couple, walking hand-in-hand through the busy streets and eating roadside snacks.
Choi Sulli was interested in everything, always asking about this and that. She was especially fascinated by Tanghulu and sugar paintings, her eyes curving into crescents as she bit into a peach-shaped sugar painting.
This girl really likes sweets!
They also went to see the latest movies, and she would cry and laugh along with the plot.
In this southern city, Choi Sulli had no work pressure and no worries about being recognized by fans, leaving behind a trail of laughter.
Choi Sulli said these few days were the happiest of her life.
And with the language environment, Choi Sulli's Chinese improved very quickly. Although she still occasionally said the wrong thing and caused jokes, she could already communicate simply with Liu Zijun's family.
Lin Wanrou treated her like her own daughter, making her delicious food in different ways every day.
She even specially took her into town to buy several new outfits, saying that Choi Sulli's figure was like a clothes rack and that one should dress festively for the Chinese New Year.
Lin Jianguo and the others also pampered her in the palms of their hands.
Liu Zijun looked at the increasingly bright smile on Choi Sulli's face, his heart full of gratification.
He knew that this girl, who had suffered so much grievance and was so sensitive and insecure back in The Peninsula, had finally found true happiness and security here.
