83: Chapter 83 JK Sisters' Night Talk
In the underground parking lot of Liu Zijun's apartment building, Victoria Song stood by the car, watching Jessica Jung pull Krystal Jung's wrist as they walked quickly toward her private car. The words at the tip of her tongue were swallowed back.
She had originally wanted to take advantage of the night to give Krystal Jung a few reminders; after all, the way the girl had looked at Liu Zijun just now still wasn't quite right.
But looking at the backs of the two sisters side by side, especially Jessica Jung's tightly furrowed brows, she ultimately shook her head.
For some things, no matter how much an outsider says, it's useless; one has to figure it out for themselves.
Choi Sulli's situation was already complicated enough. Although she was Krystal Jung's leader, their relationship was never as close as the one with Jessica Jung.
She could only hope that this Little Iceberg could, as she said, suppress that misplaced affection.
"Let's go, Older Sister Victoria Song."
Amber Liu patted her shoulder, her tone carrying a bit of comfort.
Luna also nodded and said, "This matter with our Sulli is no longer something we can control. The little girl has grown up."
Victoria Song hummed in response and turned to get into the car.
The car interior was very quiet; no one mentioned the episode in the apartment just now, but everyone's heart was as clear as a mirror.
Liu Zijun's existence had quietly changed too many things.
On the other side, Jessica Jung's private car drove steadily on the night roads of Seoul.
No lights were on in the car; only the intermittent light and shadows from the streetlamps penetrated the windows, spilling onto the sisters' faces. The atmosphere was somewhat heavy.
Krystal Jung leaned back in the passenger seat, hands crossed over her knees. Her profile remained cold and aloof, but her slightly furrowed brows betrayed her unsettled thoughts.
The scene she saw in the apartment just now of Liu Zijun holding Choi Sulli and Im Yoona was like a tiny thorn, pricking her heart with a faint ache.
She had made her decision long ago, but seeing that scene with her own eyes, she still couldn't help but feel hurt.
Jessica Jung glanced at her, her fingers tightening on the steering wheel, but she didn't speak.
She had noticed Krystal Jung's abnormality since they were in the apartment, especially the surprise in her eyes when Liu Zijun appeared, followed by the subsequent disappointment.
As an older sister, she knew Krystal Jung too well. This girl looked icy on the outside, but she was exceptionally stubborn to the core; once she set her mind on something, it was hard to let go easily.
The car drove into the building's entrance and parked steadily in the underground parking lot.
Jessica Jung got out first, and Krystal Jung followed sluggishly behind, her steps somewhat dragging.
Which made Jessica Jung more and more annoyed as she watched.
Entering the elevator, Jessica Jung pressed the button for the top floor. In the enclosed space, only the slight sound of the elevator rising remained.
Krystal Jung subconsciously avoided her sister's gaze, turning her head to stare at the jumping numbers, her heart feeling inexplicably flustered.
Had Jessica Jung discovered something?
Opening the front door, the warm light instantly illuminated the living room.
Krystal Jung changed her shoes and went straight to the living room sofa to sit down, picking up a throw pillow to hold in her arms, her fingers unconsciously picking at the edge of the pillow.
Jessica Jung poured two glasses of warm water, handed one to her, and then sat on the single sofa opposite her, legs crossed, hands holding the water glass.
She asked directly, getting straight to the point: "Are you in love with Liu Zijun?"
The sudden questioning caused Krystal Jung's movements to pause. She looked up and met her sister's scrutinizing eyes without any evasion or denial.
After a few seconds of silence, she said softly, "I had a bit of a crush before, but I've thought it through clearly and will let it go."
Her voice was very soft.
That night at the hotel, seeing Choi Sulli return from Liu Zijun's room, she had completely figured it out.
Not to mention seeing Son Ye-jin there today; she was even more confused.
Although Liu Zijun was good, he was too philandering. In such a situation, she couldn't accept it.
Furthermore, that affection of hers was just one-sided. If she continued to be persistent, the outcome would be unknown.
Jessica Jung had originally thought Krystal Jung would deny it, but she hadn't expected her to say this.
Seeing the frankness in her eyes, she felt a slight sense of relief in her heart.
Her biggest worry was that Krystal Jung would be too stubborn and get stuck in a dead end.
"It's good that you've thought it through. Liu Zijun is indeed outstanding, but he is a scumbag. Keeping your distance is for the best."
Krystal Jung glanced at her sister, lowered her head to take a sip of water, and said in a low voice, "I know, so I won't harbor any more unrealistic thoughts. In the future, I'll just treat him as an ordinary friend and keep my distance."
She spoke casually, but her heart still felt a bit empty.
The living room was quiet for a moment when Jessica Jung's phone suddenly rang.
She picked up the phone, glanced at Krystal Jung, walked into her own room to finish the call, and then came back out.
Krystal Jung looked up and watched her, somewhat speechless: "Isn't unnie preparing for Girls Generation's new album? Do you still have time to be busy with your entrepreneurial dream?"
Jessica Jung's eyes dimmed as she said, "The new album is in preparation, but you've seen it too. Our group's popularity isn't what it used to be, and the distribution of resources within the team is becoming more and more uneven.
If things continue like this, we'll be eliminated by the market sooner or later."
Her words struck a chord with Krystal Jung's thoughts.
As an idol, the career span is naturally short. Although Girls Generation is a national girl group, with more and more newcomers appearing, their competitiveness is gradually declining.
Just like them in f(x); it only got better after this Director Kira came and took charge of all their affairs.
Unlike before, when no one cared.
But how many more years can f(x) stay popular?
The gap in the development of members within girl groups is becoming more and more obvious, and the problem of resource tilting has always existed; it's just that everyone has a tacit understanding and no way to resist."
Jessica Jung looked at Krystal Jung and said with a hint of determination in her eyes, "I want to do some business of my own, not necessarily limited to singing and dancing.
I only have some ideas at the moment, but if there's an opportunity, I will definitely seize it."
Krystal Jung was stunned; she didn't expect her sister to have already thought so much.
Jessica Jung smiled and said with a hint of fatigue in her eyes, "The company holds an open attitude toward members' personal development, as long as it doesn't affect the company's interests and the group's collective activities, we can try.
And I'm not acting on impulse; I've been researching the market these days and have also consulted some friends for advice."
Seeing the light in her sister's eyes, Krystal Jung's worries gradually dissipated.
She knew Jessica Jung was a person with her own opinions; once she made a decision, she would go all out.
"Jessica, since you've already thought it through, then go for it. If you need help, tell me anytime."
Jessica Jung smiled gratifiedly and reached out to ruffle her sister's hair: "Actually, I'm most worried about you. You're still young; take good care of yourself in the group and don't be easily influenced by outside voices."
The two sisters talked for a while longer, the topics shifting from the group's future to each other's lives, and the atmosphere gradually became relaxed.
Jessica Jung looked at Krystal Jung, who was also nearly an adult, and sighed inwardly, hoping that the path ahead for both sisters would be a bit smoother.
