192: Chapter 192 Compromise Between Sisters

Liu Zijun looked at the two sisters weeping in each other's arms, and the heavy pressure in his heart finally lightened a bit.

Krystal was also shooting him looks, and Liu Zijun thought for a moment.

Everything that needed to be said had been said; regardless, he wasn't going to let these two women run away.

Moreover, he knew this was only a temporary peace. Staying any longer would only make the atmosphere more strained.

"You two should have a good talk first."

"Jessica Jung, whatever decision you make, I will respect it.

But Krystal, remember, I won't let you leave."

Krystal lifted her head from Jessica Jung's embrace, her eyes red, but she still gave Liu Zijun a firm nod.

Jessica Jung, on the other hand, gave him a fierce glare. There was still anger in her eyes, but it lacked the hysteria from moments ago.

"You dog man! This old lady has been slept with by you twice already, and you actually expect me to leave?"

Liu Zijun, of course, didn't know what Jessica Jung was thinking. He turned, grabbed his coat, and walked toward the door.

The moment he closed the door, he couldn't help but look back; the two sisters were still holding each other.

Stepping out of the apartment building, the early morning breeze carried a hint of chill, clearing his head significantly.

He leaned against the car door, pulled out a cigarette case, and lit one. Amidst the swirling smoke, he felt a bit restless.

For Krystal, it started with her bravery and purity. That silly willingness to sacrifice herself for her sister had moved his heart.

As for Jessica Jung, it was that night of passion in Hong Kong Island, along with the stubbornness and pride in her bones, that had unknowingly carved out a place for her in his heart.

But he still chose to respect Jessica Jung.

When the cigarette burned out, he crushed the butt and threw it into the trash, having already made his decision.

No matter what the sisters ultimately chose, he wouldn't shirk his responsibility. He only hoped they wouldn't completely fall out because of him.

Inside the apartment, a deathly silence fell after Liu Zijun left.

Jessica Jung and Krystal remained in their embrace, each clearly feeling the other's heartbeat and slight trembling.

The sunlight outside grew more intense, and the sound of car horns from the street below only highlighted the quiet within the room.

After a long while, Jessica Jung slowly released her sister and reached out to wipe the tear tracks from her face, her movements gentler than her usual forceful self.

"Sit down."

She took the lead and sat on the sofa. Her voice was still a bit raspy, but it was much calmer.

Krystal nodded and sat beside her, somewhat afraid to look her sister in the eye.

She knew her sister must still be holding in anger and was certainly unhappy with her choice.

Another period of silence followed.

Jessica Jung picked up the cup of water on the table that had long since gone cold and took a sip. The icy liquid sliding down her throat helped settle her chaotic thoughts slightly.

She turned to look at the sister beside her.

This little girl, who had grown up with her and been protected by her, had unknowingly grown up.

She had her own opinions and was even willing to make such an absurd choice for the sake of love.

But then again, wasn't her own choice just as absurd?

Jessica Jung finally broke the silence. Her tone was complex—filled with unwillingness, heartache, and a hint of softening that even she hadn't noticed.

"Since neither you nor I are willing to let go, can you really accept this strange relationship?"

Krystal raised her head to meet her sister's gaze. The panic in her eyes gradually faded, replaced by a touch of determination.

She thought for a moment and asked in return, "Is there any difference between us and Im Yoona or Yejin Unnie?"

These words were like a heavy hammer, slamming hard against Jessica Jung's heart.

She opened her mouth to argue, but found herself speechless.

Indeed, what was the difference?

They both liked the same man, and both were willing to stay by his side. The only difference was that she and Krystal shared the bond of being biological sisters.

But in the face of love, this identity didn't seem to be an obstacle; instead, it had become the most agonizing shackle between them.

Jessica Jung couldn't help but raise her voice, her tone full of frustration.

"But we are biological sisters!"

"Are we just going to let that dog man have it so easy?

He gets to have one in each arm, while we sisters have to share one man. What would people say if word got out?"

She became more agitated as she spoke, her chest heaving violently.

Thinking about how she had been proud for so many years, only to end up revolving around the same man as her own sister, she felt incredibly stifled.

Jessica Jung looked at Krystal's young face, and her tone softened, filled with deep heartache.

"You're still young!"

"I don't want you to wrong yourself like this. You should have a complete love, a man who belongs only to you, instead of having to split an affection with others like this."

Krystal saw the pain in her sister's eyes and felt a warmth in her heart, but she still shook her head. "I don't want you to wrong yourself either!"

She paused, her voice soft but every word clear. "But you're even more reluctant to let him go, aren't you?"

Jessica Jung's body stiffened suddenly. A flash of panic crossed her face as she instinctively wanted to deny it, but facing her sister's clear, all-seeing eyes, all her excuses got stuck in her throat.

She had to admit, Krystal was right.

Since that night in Hong Kong Island, Liu Zijun's figure had been etched into her heart, impossible to banish.

She was jealous of Choi Sulli's openness, jealous of Im Yoona's unbridled boldness, and even jealous that her sister could stay by his side earlier than she could.

This reluctance to let go had long since outweighed her pride and resentment.

Seeing her sister remain silent, Krystal knew she had conceded.

She continued, "We both like him and neither of us is willing to let go. Since we can't change this fact, why make things difficult for each other?"

She thought of Liu Zijun's usual tenderness and sense of responsibility, and a faint smile unconsciously tugged at the corners of her mouth.

"Besides, Oppa isn't the kind of person who shirks responsibility. He will be good to us and try his best to take everyone's feelings into account."

"I know this kind of relationship is very strange and people might point fingers, but as long as I can stay by his side, I don't care."

Jessica Jung looked at the smile on her sister's face—a sweetness and satisfaction born from being nurtured by love—and the bitterness in her heart deepened.

She knew she could no longer persuade her sister, just as she couldn't persuade herself.

"Soojung! You've really been given a love potion by him! In the end, it's as if I'm the one who stole your man."

Jessica Jung sighed, the anger in her voice completely gone, replaced only by a deep sense of helplessness.

These words carried a hint of self-mockery, which instantly eased the tense atmosphere significantly.

Krystal couldn't help but smile and reached out to take her sister's hand. "Sica, we're sisters. No matter what, I don't want to lose you, and there's no need for us to fight over him."

Jessica Jung squeezed her sister's hand in return, the warm touch from her fingertips softening her heart.

The person she cared about most in this life was this sister. How could she distance herself from her because of a man?

Jessica Jung rolled her eyes but couldn't help but nag, "I must have owed you two in a past life!"

"When we're together in the future, he's not allowed to play favorites! If he dares to wrong you, I'll be the first one to deal with him!"

Krystal nodded vigorously, her eyes full of joy. "Mm! We'll keep an eye on each other; neither of us will let him bully us!"

The two sisters looked at each other and burst into laughter simultaneously.

The previous arguments and grievances seemed to vanish into thin air at this moment.

Although this relationship was still absurd and full of unknowns, they both felt the other's softening and acceptance.

Neither could persuade the other to let go, nor could they persuade themselves to turn away. They could only leave it at that, tacitly accepting this special way of getting along.

Jessica Jung stood up and stretched, her face regaining some of its usual cool composure.

"Alright, enough crying and enough fighting.

I'm going to make you breakfast. After we eat, I still have to go to the company to handle brand matters."

She walked to the kitchen door and suddenly turned back to look at Krystal, a hint of warning in her eyes.

"For now, you're not allowed to tell anyone about this, especially those two girls, Choi Sulli and Im Yoona, lest they laugh at us."

Krystal nodded with a smile. "I know! I won't say anything."

Watching her sister's busy back, Krystal took out her phone and sent a message to Liu Zijun.

"Oppa, we're fine now. You go back first. In the future... we'll take things slowly."

The moment it sent successfully, her cheeks flushed slightly, but her heart was filled with an unprecedented sense of security.

She knew the road ahead might not be smooth sailing, but with her sister and Liu Zijun there, she wasn't afraid of anything anymore.

When Liu Zijun received the message downstairs, his tense nerves finally relaxed completely.

He started the car and slowly drove away from the residential area.
