33: Chapter 33 The Incident of Im Yoon-a's Fall

The nine members of Girls Generation, dressed in beautiful stage outfits, performed sharp dance moves on a temporary elevating stage over three meters high, while the light sticks below formed a sea of color.

The popularity of Girls Generation really wasn't something f(x) could compare to; it was too exaggerated!

Liu Zijun stood at the side of the stage, his gaze maintaining a professional vigilance as it swept across the crowded audience before falling back onto the girls on stage.

This was Girls Generation's final performance in Japan. The stage design was more complex than the previous two, and the nine girls were dancing even harder.

With his hands in his pockets, his eyes scanned the nine of them, lingering on Im Yoona for just a second longer.

This girl was probably the person in The Peninsula who knew the most of his secrets.

On stage, Im Yoona was dancing to the chorus. Her movements were sharp and beautiful, her skirt slicing through the air in an elegant arc.

But her eyes were a bit vacant. As her peripheral vision caught that tall figure in the security zone below, her conversation with Liu Zijun from last night suddenly flashed through her mind.

"Choi Jae-ho has ill intentions toward Sulli. I'll make him pay the price."

"I'm not a good person. You all had better stay away from me."

Those words swirled in her head like fragments. She couldn't help but wonder, what exactly was this man going to do?

Should she tell Sulli about him, or just ignore it?

In that moment of distraction, her footsteps faltered slightly, and her right foot actually stepped off the edge of the elevating platform.

"Yoona!"

Kim Taeyeon's scream was the first to ring out, her voice broadcasting across the entire venue through the microphone.

But before her voice even faded, Im Yoona had already lost her balance and was falling toward the hard ground below the stage.

The fans below let out a chorus of terrified screams, and the atmosphere instantly plummeted from fever pitch to freezing point.

Liu Zijun moved almost the very instant Im Yoona stepped into empty air.

He lunged forward, kicked off the ground to leap up, and caught Im Yoona in his arms. He forcibly twisted his body in mid-air to cushion her fall with his own body.

*Thud—*

A dull thud echoed as the two slammed onto the ground. Liu Zijun's left shoulder struck the metal guardrail beneath the stage with significant force.

The sharp metal edge instantly tore through his black suit and gashed his flesh, drawing a startling amount of blood.

Im Yoona only felt her body go limp as she landed in a solid embrace, followed by a muffled, suppressed groan.

From the moment she fell off the stage, she had been in a daze.

It took several seconds before she slowly raised her head to see Liu Zijun's slightly furrowed brow and the blood rapidly spreading across his left shoulder.

"Joon oppa..."

Im Yoona's voice trembled with a sob, her body shaking uncontrollably.

The performance on stage had long since stopped. Lee Taeyong was the first to rush over.

Kim Taeyeon was the first to jump off the stage, with Tiffany Young, Seohyun, and the others running over behind her, their faces pale with shock.

Lee Taeyong helped Im Yoona up and checked her over carefully. After confirming she was okay,

he knelt beside Liu Zijun, his voice trembling slightly.

"Ji-Jun! How are you? Call an ambulance, quick!"

He shouted at the Girls Generation Manager and the event staff who were crowding around.

The scene was extremely chaotic. The Manager and security personnel immediately protected the members of Girls Generation, checking if Im Yoona was injured.

One female staff member was fumbling to take out her phone to call, but her hands were shaking so much she couldn't press the buttons.

Finally, Jessica Jung snatched the phone away and quickly dialed emergency services, urgently explaining the situation in Japanese.

Though she stumbled over her words a bit.

Im Yoona, meanwhile, had crouched back down beside Liu Zijun, and the Manager couldn't pull her away!

She hurriedly pulled clean tissues from the Manager's bag, wanting to stop Liu Zijun's bleeding, but she was afraid of hurting him. Her hand hovered in mid-air, her eyes red.

Liu Zijun actually smiled at her and said, "You know, for me, this is just a minor issue."

Im Yoona glared at him and snapped, "The wound is so deep, how can you still joke around?!"

The fans below were already in a frenzy, crowding toward them, filming with their phones, and posting online.

Although the staff quickly set up a cordon to try and calm the fans.

The venue's medical staff arrived quickly, running over with first-aid kits and kneeling beside Liu Zijun to treat the wound.

Liu Zijun slowly stood up. It wasn't that he hadn't wanted to get up earlier, but Im Yoona and Kim Taeyeon had been pinning him down, not letting him move!

He first gently removed Im Yoona's hand from his wound and gestured for the medics to check on her first.

"Check her first. I'm fine."

Hearing this, Im Yoona's tears fell even harder. She grabbed Liu Zijun's arm and sobbed, "Joon oppa, I'm okay!"

The medics quickly finished checking Im Yoona and shook their heads at everyone.

"Ms. Im Yoona is just in shock; she has no physical injuries. However, this gentleman's left shoulder has a severe abrasion and needs to be treated at a hospital immediately."

Liu Zijun stood up and followed the medical staff.

Im Yoona quickly reached out to support him. Kim Taeyeon was too short and couldn't quite manage it.

(Kim Taeyeon: Aish...)

Finally, Seohyun stepped forward to help support him from the other side. Liu Zijun had intended to refuse, but he really couldn't say no.

The medics helped Liu Zijun onto a stretcher. Im Yoona wanted to get in the ambulance with him, but the Manager held her back.

"Yoona, you still need to reassure the fans. Don't go yet."

Im Yoona pulled her hand away from the Manager, her gaze incredibly determined.

"No! It's my fault Joon oppa got hurt. I have to go with him!"

Kim Taeyeon also said to the Manager, "Jun-ho oppa, let Yoona go. We'll handle things here."

The Manager looked at Im Yoona's determined eyes, still wet with tears, then at the pale-faced Liu Zijun on the stretcher, and finally nodded.

The ambulance drove away from the venue. The lights in the back were a sterile white as the doctor performed emergency hemostasis. Im Yoona sat beside Liu Zijun, tightly clutching his uninjured right hand, her tears dripping one by one onto the back of his hand.

Liu Zijun said in an extremely calm tone, "What are you crying for? To me, this is just a minor flesh wound."

Im Yoona sniffled and said worriedly, "The doctor just said it almost hit the bone. You've lost so much blood, and you still say you're fine..."

Liu Zijun smiled, though his brow furrowed again as the vehicle hit a bump.

"I'm not joking with you... I'm a bodyguard; protecting you is my job.

I hope you remember what I said last night!"

Im Yoona whispered, "But you protected me, not just a 'work assignment'..."

Liu Zijun glanced at her.

At the hospital, Liu Zijun was wheeled into the debridement room to have his wound treated.

While the doctor was cleaning the wound, Im Yoona stood outside the door, watching through the glass.

When she saw the doctor wiping the wound with iodine, Liu Zijun's body tensed slightly, yet he never made a sound. Her tears started falling again.

After handling things at the venue, the other members of Girls Generation also rushed to the hospital.

Walking into the hallway, they saw Im Yoona crouching in a corner, her shoulders shaking with sobs.

They hurried over and patted her on the shoulder, sighing, "Stop blaming yourself. This isn't something you wanted to happen."

Kim Taeyeon and the Manager also walked over, holding Liu Zijun's medical report.

She said to Im Yoona, "The doctor said it's okay. It's just a deep abrasion; the bone isn't damaged. But he needs to rest properly—no strenuous exercise for at least half a month."

Just then, the door to the debridement room opened and Liu Zijun walked out. His left shoulder was wrapped in thick gauze, yet he still smiled at everyone.

"Sorry for making you all worry."

The model student, Seohyun, quickly stepped forward and handed him a cup of warm water.

"Joon oppa, how are you feeling?"

Liu Zijun took the cup, took a sip, and said, "I'm fine, just a minor issue."
