4: Chapter 4: A clichéd encounter plot

"Big brother! I was wrong! Stop hitting me!"

"aishiba! I think my leg is broken..."

Zhao Chenghao watched the scene before him, his legs turning to jelly from fear. He turned around, wanting to run.

Liu Zijun stepped forward and grabbed his back collar, lifting him back like a little chick and tossing him casually into the snow.

Then, he stepped down and snapped his lower leg.

"You... don't come any closer!"

Zhao Chenghao scrambled backward using both hands and feet, ignoring the pain, his face filled with terror.

Liu Zijun crouched down and patted his face. Without saying a word, he simply pointed toward the distant sea.

The meaning made Zhao Chenghao tremble all over. He couldn't even speak and could only nod frantically.

"Yes, yes, yes... I won't dare do it again..."

Liu Zijun stood up and ignored these people, preparing to hail a taxi back to the hotel.

Just then, Liu Zijun heard a somewhat weak female voice from behind him.

"Help... help me..."

He turned around and saw the woman from the bar earlier. She was staggering, her head buried in the hood of her down jacket, her face as pale as paper, and her eyes unfocused.

One of her hands tightly gripped a Hyundai car as she stumbled toward him for help.

Liu Zijun frowned. Looking at the woman bumping into him, she was indeed a great beauty.

He helplessly supported her, only to find her body was burning hot and her entire frame was going limp.

Clearly, the effects of that spiked fruit wine had kicked in.

Liu Zijun asked, "What do you want?"

His tone remained devoid of warmth.

The woman leaned into his arms, her consciousness already starting to blur. She just instinctively grabbed his clothes, mumbling, "My head is so dizzy! Help me..."

Her voice was soft and sweet, tinged with a bit of a sob, like a helpless kitten.

Liu Zijun looked down at her, feeling somewhat hesitant.

He had intended to leave regardless, but seeing her like this, it didn't feel right to just dump her here.

The darkness in this country really isn't small at all.

Forget it, I'll treat it as earning some good karma.

He glanced at the few playboys who had chased her out.

Those men saw the Seven Star Gang members lying on the ground, as well as the onlookers keeping a far distance from Liu Zijun.

Seemingly frightened, they muttered a few curses under their breaths but didn't dare step forward.

He picked the woman up in a bridal carry. She was very light, so thin she had almost no weight.

He glanced at the surroundings, raised his hand to hail a taxi, and gave the name of the best hotel in Busan.

The taxi sped through the snowy night. The woman leaned in Liu Zijun's arms, occasionally making low sounds.

Her hands still tightly gripped his overcoat, as if he were the only piece of driftwood in the sea at this moment that could save her life.

Liu Zijun looked at the street scenery flying past the window and sighed in his heart. Sure enough, he still couldn't escape these troublesome matters.

This woman looked to be a few years older than him, just the age Boss Cao would like.

This woman was indeed very beautiful and had a lot of charm. Her whole head was buried in her down jacket hood; one couldn't see her face clearly without looking closely.

Arriving at the Busan Lotte Hotel, Liu Zijun carried the woman into the lobby.

The hotel's decor was still luxurious and grand. The warm yellow lights spilled down, dispelling the chill from outside.

The male hotel attendant saw Liu Zijun carrying an unconscious woman. A flash of surprise crossed his eyes, but he didn't ask much.

This kind of thing was quite normal in this country. He even very diligently helped press the elevator button.

When he saw that Liu Zijun's room card was for a top-floor suite, he became even more respectful.

"Sir, I wish you a pleasant evening."

After saying that, he even gave a look that men understand.

Liu Zijun carried the woman into the elevator.

In the elevator, the woman buried her head in the crook of his neck. Her warm breath spilled onto his skin, carrying a faint scent of alcohol and perfume.

A pair of small hands were still fumbling around on Liu Zijun's body.

Liu Zijun's body just stiffened for a moment before relaxing again.

Reaching the top-floor suite, Liu Zijun pushed open the door and placed the woman on the soft, large bed.

Just as he wanted to let go, the woman suddenly grabbed his wrist, opened her hazy eyes, looked at him, and said, "Don't go..."

Liu Zijun said, "I'll go pour you a glass of water."

He disdainfully shook off her hand and walked to the bar to pour a glass of warm water.

He brought the water glass back to the bedside, propped the woman up, and held the glass to her lips.

She obediently took a few sips. Water flowed down the corner of her mouth and dripped onto her neck.

Liu Zijun frowned, took the towel from the nightstand, and wiped the corners of her mouth and her neck for her.

However, this movement was like water into a boiling oil pan, making the woman completely boil over.

Liu Zijun frowned as he watched the woman haphazardly tugging at her own clothes.

Although he would sleep with women, he wouldn't sleep with this kind of woman who was incoherent and drugged.

He stood up, went to the bathroom, wet a handkerchief with cold water, wiped her face, and then patted her cheek, asking, "Do you want me to call an ambulance for you?"

The woman's eyes cleared slightly as she looked at Liu Zijun's face. "Who are you? Why am I here?"

"My name is Liu Zijun. You were drugged at the bar, and you insisted on following me here."

Liu Zijun explained concisely, placing the water glass on the nightstand again.

"Drugged?"

"No wonder... no wonder my head is so dizzy. Thank you..."

The woman was stunned for a moment, then remembered something, her face turning even paler.

Liu Zijun nodded. "Do you want me to call an ambulance?"

"No! My name is Son Ye-jin."

The woman gave her name, thinking this man would recognize it, but she saw that he was completely unmoved.

Although Liu Zijun was somewhat puzzled, he still nodded and simply said, "There's a bathtub over there. You can lie in it yourself; maybe it will help!"

Son Ye-jin's voice became more and more confused. "You don't know me?"

Liu Zijun was a bit confused. "Why should I know you?"

Son Ye-jin glanced at Liu Zijun. "True... listening to your accent, you seem to be Chinese?"

Liu Zijun crossed his arms and nodded.

Son Ye-jin's voice became increasingly muddled.

"I came to Busan to attend an event. I was in a bad mood tonight, so I went to a bar to have some drinks... I didn't expect to encounter this kind of thing."

Liu Zijun wasn't very interested. He interrupted her, saying, "Just get some rest. Hang in there until the drug wears off, and you'll be fine."

After saying that, he turned around, preparing to go sleep on the sofa.

"Wait!"

Son Ye-jin suddenly called out to him, her eyes full of confusion and desire.

"I'm scared alone... can you... not leave?"

Liu Zijun turned back to look at her; her eyes were red.

He was silent for a few seconds before abruptly asking, "You know what this means, right?"

Son Ye-jin hesitated for a while but ultimately nodded. She could no longer control herself.

The content here is not what you like to read, so skip it! Or perhaps write it with tears flowing first?

Time reached the middle of the night. Outside the window, the snow was still falling. In the hotel room, it was so quiet that only Son Ye-jin's shallow breathing remained.

Liu Zijun closed his eyes, pondered the upcoming arrangements in his mind, and also fell asleep.

In this life, he would protect those whom Choi Soo-myung wanted to protect.

And this accidental encounter tonight was, in his view, nothing more than a small interlude in his life.

The next morning, the first ray of sunlight spilled into the room through the floor-to-ceiling window. Liu Zijun was woken up by the sound of waves outside.

He sat up, rubbed his temples, and looked at Son Ye-jin beside him, frowning slightly.

This woman was still sleeping, her brow relaxed, clearly sleeping very peacefully.

Liu Zijun stood up and walked to the window, looking at the sea outside.

The snow had stopped, the sea surface was sparkling, and the distant Busan Port was shrouded in a thin layer of morning mist.

He took out his phone and glanced at the time. It was already eight o'clock in the morning. In another two hours, it would be the time for Choi Soo-myung's burial.
