86: Chapter 86 Jessica Jung, I'm not interested in you.
"Mr. Liu Zijun! Can I call you oppa from now on?"
Bae Joohyun looked at the fans waiting at the company's main entrance, a hint of envy flashing in her eyes.
After arriving at a nearby coffee shop, she suddenly asked Liu Zijun in a low voice.
Liu Zijun nodded and said, "As you wish. I'm Chinese, so I don't really care about the senior-junior system here on The Peninsula."
"Just call me whatever you feel comfortable with."
Bae Joohyun thought back to the fireworks that had bloomed over the Han River a few nights ago.
Although she and Kang Seulgi had their suspicions, they were still a bit uncertain.
Because the next morning, the rumors regarding Choi Sulli only circulated in a small circle before disappearing, and they didn't cause much of a stir online.
He was Chinese, and given the rumors in the company plus the 'Truth of Hanja' connection, she was certain without even asking that the person who set off the fireworks was the man standing before her.
He really was so mysterious.
He was clearly a bodyguard, yet he seemed to possess immense influence.
Seeing the girl start dazing off again, Liu Zijun shook his head.
Looking at the coffee shop in front of him, business was quite good.
Liu Zijun marveled at how much the people on The Peninsula truly loved coffee.
It took Bae Joohyun over ten seconds to realize she hadn't responded, wondering if she seemed too cold and distant.
Her face turned even redder.
"I'm sorry, Elder Brother Liu Zijun, I was spacing out just now!"
Liu Zijun smiled nonchalantly. "It's fine! You look quite cute when you're dazing off."
Bae Joohyun was about to pay, and Liu Zijun didn't try to stop her.
After all, he had agreed to come down and buy coffee with her.
"Beautiful Joo-hyun, next time I'm at the company, I'll treat you all to coffee!"
He helped Bae Joohyun carry the coffee she bought for her younger sisters and headed straight back toward SM Entertainment Company.
Just as they entered the lobby, they saw Jessica Jung and Im Yoona, both wearing masks, suddenly step out of the company elevator.
Bae Joohyun quickly bowed in greeting.
Meanwhile, Im Yoona's eyes narrowed slightly as she immediately looked at the coffee bags in his hands.
Jessica Jung muttered under her breath, "You scumbag!"
Only the sharp-eared Liu Zijun and Im Yoona, who was beside her, heard it.
Im Yoona adjusted her baseball cap.
She stepped up to him, poked his shoulder with her finger, and whispered, "Oppa! Don't you know your injuries haven't healed yet? Why are you carrying so much coffee?"
Bae Joohyun quickly lowered her head and whispered, "Elder Brother Liu Zijun, give the coffee to me. I'll take it to Seulgi and the others first."
Liu Zijun didn't think much of it and simply said, "It's fine! It's on the way anyway."
Then he said to Im Yoona, "Weren't you guys supposed to be out for your schedules? Why are you here?"
Im Yoona didn't answer him. Instead, she looked at Bae Joohyun and said, "I know you. You're Bae Joohyun, right? I heard the company is planning a new girl group and you're one of the candidates. Good luck!"
Bae Joohyun quickly bowed.
Im Yoona turned back, angling her body to block the view from the lobby, and reached out to straighten Liu Zijun's collar. "If you're not feeling well, stay home and rest. Why come to the company?"
"We just came back for a bit because the company notified us of something. Now we're heading back out."
She added softly, "Don't think just because Yejin Unnie spoils you that you can mess around. Sulli and I will be watching you. Hmph..."
Liu Zijun gave her an amused look and shook his head.
"Bae Joohyun and I have only met twice; she just treated me to a coffee. What's going on in that little head of yours all day?"
Then he said to Jessica Jung, "Stop looking at me with those eyes. Don't worry, I'm not interested in you."
Jessica Jung couldn't help but snap, "Yah!"
Liu Zijun had already remembered Jessica Jung's situation and why she looked familiar when he first saw her.
In his past life, in early 2016, when he went to Hong Kong Island for a mission...
Her photo had been placed right in front of him, yet he had no interest then, let alone in this life.
By his standards, she was beautiful, but he had seen plenty of women even more beautiful than her.
Ignoring Jessica Jung, who was about to blow a fuse...
He said gently to Im Yoona, "Make sure to rest! Go on now!"
Then he gave Bae Joohyun an apologetic smile and led the way toward the practice rooms on the basement level.
Jessica Jung wanted to argue with Liu Zijun, her face flushed with anger.
Im Yoona quickly held her back, gave Liu Zijun a helpless look, and then walked with her toward the van waiting at the entrance.
Once they were in the car, Jessica Jung couldn't help but scold, "Yah! Im Yoona, are you three girls blind?"
"How can you be so devoted to that scumbag? Did he drug you or something?"
"I'm so furious! He actually said he's not interested in me? Like I need him to be interested in me!"
"And did you see that? Bae Joohyun hasn't even debuted yet, and he's already starting to hit on her."
"I'm going crazy! I'm so mad!"
Im Yoona looked at Jessica Jung speechlessly and said, "unnie! You know what his personality is like. Don't lower yourself to his level."
"Oppa isn't a scumbag; it's all of our own free will."
Jessica Jung looked at her as if she were a lunatic. Had she really been drugged?
Im Yoona leaned in and whispered something in her ear, her face turning bright red.
Jessica Jung's eyes suddenly widened. "Really?"
Then, looking at Im Yoona's expression, she suddenly pulled away and shouted, "You really have gone crazy!"
"Im Yoona, you are the face of Girls Generation!"
Im Yoona just blushed and remained silent.
After a long while, Jessica Jung added, "Yoona, you've really changed a lot."
Im Yoona nodded and said, "I have! But being with him makes me feel very happy!"
Jessica Jung felt like she was going out of her mind.
Not to mention these three women, even her own little sister had a good impression of that scumbag.
That scumbag... besides being tall, handsome, and apparently a bit rich, what's so great about him?
If it's about money, the members of Girls Generation aren't doing too badly themselves.
She really couldn't understand it.
Her current feeling was just like Victoria Song's; she wanted to chop that scumbag to pieces.
Im Yoona looked at her unnie, finding it a bit funny.
She suddenly thought of Bae Joohyun again. She had heard of that trainee; she really was a potential rival.
But with her reminders, her oppa shouldn't really be that kind of scumbag.
Even when she, the face of Girls Generation, was right in front of him, he remained indifferent.
So, she wasn't worried about that aspect.
It's just that she knew her oppa's charm; she was afraid others would have designs on him.
Yejin Unnie tolerated everything about oppa, never fighting or grabbing for attention.
Sulli was so attached to him that she certainly wouldn't be able to keep an eye on him.
Only she could play the "bad guy" role; she had to keep a close watch on oppa so no one else could swoop in.
