66: Chapter 66 I'll Wait for You

The trainees at the very back were so scared they didn't even dare to breathe loudly.

Bae Joohyun watched Liu Zijun and the two seniors disappear, her heart churning with turbulent waves!

She had been stealing glances at the Security Department several times recently, but she hadn't seen Liu Zijun once.

Presumably, he was still resting at home after saving Senior Yoona.

She had heard that Senior Choi Sulli seemed very close to Liu Zijun, but she hadn't expected him to be so close to Senior Yoona as well.

She had only met Liu Zijun once and couldn't say she had feelings for him, but she felt as if this bodyguard saw through many things; talking to him made her feel very comfortable.

Kang Seulgi watched Bae Joohyun dazing off and couldn't help but tug at her hand, saying, "Joo-hyun unnie, let's go! Even though that security guard just now was very handsome, if we don't head back, the Unnie in charge will probably scold us!"

As the elevator slowly descended, Liu Zijun leaned against the cold wall of the cabin, took out his phone, and quickly sent a text message to Jiang Hongshao.

"Complete the acquisition of SM Entertainment shares as soon as possible and get Kim Young-min out of there! Before that, look after Sulli and Yoona. Don't let them suffer any grievances from Kim Young-min's side."

After sending it successfully, he put away his phone, and his eyes regained their calm.

The only thing he needed to do now was return to China as quickly as possible, handle the matters there, and then come back to continue protecting the people he cared about.

Though he didn't know what he would face upon his return this time.

Leaving the SM Entertainment building, Liu Zijun took a taxi directly to Incheon Airport.

The Seoul streetscape outside the car window receded rapidly. The city that once gave him a moment of stability now felt a trace of the desolation of parting.

He thought of Choi Sulli's tear-reddened eyes, Im Yoona's stubborn gaze, and Son Ye-jin's gentle smile, and a subtle softness welled up in his heart.

At the airport, Liu Zijun quickly finished the check-in procedures and sat in a corner of the waiting hall.

The airport patrols had become much stricter, clearly intending to catch the villain from last night.

But do not underestimate Emily's strength, and even more so, do not underestimate Liu Zijun's strength; not a single trace of Liu Zijun was left at the scene.

Furthermore, this was the work of the God Hunter Organization; whether they would even dare to take action was still unknown!

With some time left before boarding, he took out his phone, scrolled to that familiar number, hesitated for a few seconds, and then pressed the call button.

The phone rang a few times before being answered, and Son Ye-jin's voice, slightly tired yet still gentle, came through the receiver: "Hello? Liu Zijun?"

She was currently at a film set in Gyeonggi-do, having just finished filming a scene. Her face still bore exquisite makeup, but a subtle weariness was hidden in her eyes.

Hearing Liu Zijun's voice, she subconsciously straightened her back, her tone filled with a bit more anticipation.

"Why are you calling me at this time? How is your wound healing? Do you miss me?"

Liu Zijun looked at the crowds coming and going in the waiting hall, his voice low and soft.

"I'm leaving."

Son Ye-jin froze for a moment, then reacted, her tone instantly becoming hurried.

"Leaving? Back to China? Why so sudden? You said..."

Liu Zijun interrupted her, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness as he said, "There are some things I need to go back and handle."

In the rest area of the film set, Son Ye-jin's voice attracted the attention of the surrounding staff.

She subconsciously walked to a corner, avoiding everyone's gaze, and asked with a trembling voice, "Then when will you be back?"

What she actually wanted to ask was, will you come back at all?

This question made Liu Zijun fall silent.

He didn't know if he could successfully return.

He could only remain silent, unable to give a definite answer.

The silence in the receiver was like an invisible weight, making Son Ye-jin's heart panic.

She could sense Liu Zijun's uncertainty. That feeling of reluctance surged into her heart like a tide, causing her to lose her composure instantly.

Son Ye-jin's voice carried a sob, and her eyes were already red.

"Say something! You can't just leave like this, you haven't even..."

There were many things she wanted to say—that she hadn't said a proper goodbye, that she hadn't had time to tell him how much she cared about him, that she was afraid this parting would be forever.

But when the words reached her lips, only a choke remained.

The surrounding staff noticed something was wrong and cast curious glances over.

Son Ye-jin's Manager unnie hurried over, wanting to remind her to mind her image, but was waved off by Son Ye-jin.

She didn't care about anything else now; she just wanted to hear Liu Zijun's voice, just wanted to know if he would come back.

Hearing her sob, Liu Zijun's heart ached slightly.

He remembered her helplessness when she was drugged at the Busan bar, her tearful confession in the Cheonggyecheon restaurant, and her gentle companionship in his apartment.

This mature and gentle woman was now like a helpless child, causing an indescribable wave of guilt to surge in his heart.

He finally spoke, his voice carrying an unprecedented seriousness.

"If the matters are resolved, I will come back as soon as possible. No! I promise you, I will come back."

This was the only promise he could give, and the firmest thought in his heart.

No matter how difficult it was, even if he lost the title of 'Gu', he would find any way possible to return—return to The Peninsula where Choi Sulli, Im Yoona, and Son Ye-jin were.

In his previous life, he had already given his entire life.

Just as the Captain said, in this life, perhaps he should live for himself once, and experience the taste of love.

On the other end of the phone, Son Ye-jin sniffled, trying hard to suppress the sob in her heart. Her voice trembled slightly, yet was exceptionally firm.

"I'll wait for you."

There were no extra words, no tedious instructions, only these four words, yet they contained all her trust and waiting.

She knew Liu Zijun's promise might take a long time to fulfill, but she was willing to wait—wait for him to come back, wait for him to give her a complete future.

Liu Zijun's voice carried a hint of reluctance as he said softly, "Take care of yourself."

This woman was always so understanding, even at the cost of her own feelings.

Son Ye-jin's voice regained its gentleness: "I'll wait for you in Seoul."

After hanging up, Son Ye-jin leaned against the corner, and her tears finally couldn't help but fall.

The Manager unnie handed her a tissue and comforted her in a low voice, "Yejin, what happened? Don't be too sad; whatever it is, we can solve it slowly."

Son Ye-jin shook her head, wiped her tears, took a deep breath, and reorganized her emotions.

She couldn't let others see her fragile side, and even more so, she couldn't let her emotions affect the filming.

It was just that the empty place in her heart could only be filled when that man returned.

Me! Son Ye-jin! To think I'd be so lovesick!

She thought she had prepared herself for this day to arrive, but she didn't expect it to come so quickly!

I thought I could face it calmly, but this is really so hard!

In the waiting hall, Liu Zijun put away his phone and looked up toward the boarding gate.

He called Emily, Jiang Hongshao, and gemini once more.

After hanging up, the boarding announcement came over the loudspeaker. He stood up, picked up his simple luggage, and walked toward the boarding gate.

The plane took off slowly, piercing through the clouds and flying toward China.

Seoul's silhouette gradually grew smaller, eventually disappearing over the horizon.

Liu Zijun leaned against the window, looking at the blue sky and white clouds outside, silently thinking, "Sulli, Yoona, Yejin, wait for me to return."

The wind of The Peninsula was still blowing, the clamor of the entertainment industry continued, and the wait of the three women was indefinite.
