100: Chapter 100: Kinki

Lady Hua did not even raise her head; with a wave of her hand, a pale green Demon Power shot from her fingertips, capturing the mass of Yin Qi.

With a gentle clench of her fingers, the Yin Qi burst in her palm, transforming into countless fine specks of light that dissipated into the night breeze.

The Ghost Qi on the talisman paper was crushed by her, and she saw the contents within clearly.

The corners of Lady Hua's mouth curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile.

She looked up at the burly man opposite her, her voice clear, cold, and languid: "Lord Tunming, that old ghost, is asking for your help."

The burly man chuckled and shook his head, saying, "It cannot be considered asking for my help; it should be considered a collaboration."

Lady Hua's bare feet stirred gently in the pool water, sending ripples outward.

She looked at the burly man, the smile at the corners of her mouth deepening, her voice clear, cold, and languid: "I am curious, what price did he offer to make you, Brother Jin Kui, take action?"

Undoubtedly.

This burly man was none other than the Golden-Horned Rhino King among the Tier 3 Demon Kings deep in Taiyue Mountain, Jin Kui.

Jin Kui was silent for a moment, his voice dropping a few degrees: "Lord Tunming has received the Power of Incense before; the condition he gave me is one thousand units of the Power of Incense."

Lady Hua's feet stopped moving, and the ripples on the water gradually subsided.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, and the smile at the corners of her mouth turned into a thoughtful expression.

One thousand units of the Power of Incense.

They were demons; under normal circumstances, the Power of Incense was of no use to them at all.

Nowadays, everyone knew the purpose of the Power of Incense.

Lady Hua lifted her feet from the pool, water droplets cascading down her smooth skin, gleaming with a lustrous sheen under the moonlight.

"Are you certain?"

"If you really obtain that thing..."

Jin Kui did not answer, his gaze fixed beyond the bamboo forest.

"You know my personality, Madam Hua; I do not care... but..."

"The Bloodline of my Golden Rhino Clan is difficult to preserve, and now that I finally have one of my own Bloodline, I cannot let him remain trapped on this Taiyue Mountain just like me."

Lady Hua nodded, looking at Jin Kui, her voice softening slightly: "Since Brother Jin Kui has this thought, why..."

She stopped mid-sentence.

Some things did not need to be spelled out; everyone understood.

Jin Kui chuckled softly. Under the moonlight, his chiseled profile showed no expression, but in those eyes, there was something indescribable—not determination, but a kind of calmness, as if he were talking about something he had decided on long ago.

"You are following the path of that fellow, Zhu Feng."

"Back then, Zhu Feng also approached me, but I refused because of my offspring."

Lady Hua's fingers traced lightly over the water surface, sending out ripples.

Jin Kui paused and continued: "Now, I have thought through many things. As the Clan Chief of the Golden Rhino Clan, I, Jin Kui, ought to... fight for the sake of my Bloodline."

He turned his head to look at Lady Hua.

Their eyes met.

In Lady Hua's eyes, the silhouettes of flower petals flickered in the moonlight, while Jin Kui's pupils reflected the swaying bamboo shadows.

Neither of them spoke again.

Everything was understood without words.

The bamboo forest returned to silence, with only the rustling of the wind through the bamboo leaves and the soft tinkling of the spring water.

...

Meanwhile, at the southeast foothills of Taiyue Mountain, in the Huanyang depression.

Su Wanyue sat cross-legged beneath the yang pearl; the power of the moonlight surged in from all directions, flowing into her body, and the aura of her Moon Yin Body spread outward like a tidal wave.

Her gaze shifted slightly, looking toward the direction outside the depression, where a dense mass of Yin Qi was rapidly approaching.

"It seems they have arrived, but it is not Lord Tunming."

Su Wanyue's voice was so low it was almost inaudible.

Wu Li squatted on a dead tree at the edge of the depression, his blood-red pupils fixed on the direction from which the Death Qi was surging, his voice hoarse: "You do not need to worry about any of this."

Hearing this,

Su Wanyue closed her eyes and continued to release her aura, remaining motionless.

Yin winds howled, and grey-black Ghost Qi surged from the dense forest, instantly shrouding the sky above the depression.

Blood Butcher appeared from within the Ghost Qi, his small eyes filled with a fierce light.

Behind him, three hundred Ghost Soldiers covered the sky and earth, dense and numerous, surrounding the depression completely.

Blood Butcher hovered in mid-air, looking down at Wu Li squatting on the dead tree, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly to reveal a ferocious smile, his voice shrill and cold: "So it was you, you piece of trash, who killed my other two brothers?"

Wu Li tilted his head, his blood-red pupils devoid of any emotion.

He spoke, his voice hoarse and indifferent, carrying a hint of mockery: "Who are you calling trash?"

Blood Butcher's expression stiffened, Ghost Qi roiling around his body, his voice filled with suppressed rage: "I am calling you trash!"

Wu Li cackled, waved his wings, and said in a hoarse and cold voice: "Right, trash is calling me."

Blood Butcher was stunned for a moment, then realized what happened, his face turning livid, Ghost Qi churning.

"You are courting death!!"

"Boom!!"

Blood Butcher raised his hand, Ghost Qi condensing in his palm to form a giant ghost claw, which he swiped down toward Wu Li.

"Caw!!!"

"Boom!!"

Wu Li let out a caw, and the terrifying Demonic Qi on his body exploded like a tidal wave, colliding with Blood Butcher's ghost claw.

With a loud boom, the Demonic Qi and Ghost Qi collided, creating a shockwave that sent Blood Butcher flying backward several yards, his Ghost Qi roiling and his soul body flickering.

"Late Stage Tier 2!"

Blood Butcher's face grew even uglier, his small eyes filled with shock and rage.

"Boom~"

Wu Li did not give him a chance to catch his breath; his Demonic Qi surged, and his figure changed rapidly amidst the demon light.

His ink-purple feathers retracted, his bones cracked, his sharp claws transformed into five fingers, and his wings grew broader. Within a breath, Wu Li had transformed into a half-human, half-demon form. His wings unfurled behind him, the flight feathers at the tips sharp as blades, gleaming with a cold light under the moonlight.

He flew forward, Demon Power condensing in his palm to form a giant black crow claw, which he swiped down toward Blood Butcher!

"Caw!!!"

Blood Butcher's pupils contracted sharply; he dared not take the blow head-on. Ghost Qi roiled as he retreated violently, narrowly dodging Wu Li's claw.

Wu Li's claw strike missed, hitting the ground and blasting out a crater several yards wide, sending gravel flying.

Blood Butcher's face was ugly to the extreme, Ghost Qi swirling around him, his voice shrill and cold: "Attack! Kill him!"

With a wave of his large hand, the three hundred Ghost Soldiers behind him roared in unison, charging toward Wu Li like a tidal wave.

Ghost Qi was like a tide, Yin winds howled, and the dense mass of ghost shadows blocked out the moonlight.

Wu Li did not even glance at them; he hovered in mid-air, his blood-red pupils fixed on Blood Butcher, the corners of his mouth curling up in a mocking smile.

Just as the Ghost Soldiers were about to reach Wu Li, a hint of disdain flashed in his eyes.

Subsequently.

"Roar!!!"

A tiger's roar exploded, and then a giant tiger figure sprang directly from behind Wu Li. After landing, its tiger body tensed, fangs bared, blocking the path in front of Wu Li.

As the tiger's roar erupted,

The sound waves, carrying violent Demon Power, spread outward like a physical force.

The dozens of Ghost Soldiers closest to it were struck by the sound waves and shattered like porcelain, transforming into countless grey-black specks of light that dissipated into the night sky.
