16: Chapter 16 Baldy is no match

The White Ape Demon was also extremely furious at this moment.

He had tracked Wu Li's scent all the way from the Ape Cave to Desolate Ridge, his mind filled only with that black crow that had stolen the fleeceflower root.

Three days.

He had searched the mountain forests for dozens of miles around, and finally, he caught the scent here that made him gnash his teeth in hatred.

Then, he saw the scene before him.

A grayish-brown vulture was blocking the path in front of that black crow.

And that crow, perched on a branch behind, tilted his head, his bean-sized black eyes full of triumph; that expression was clearly a smile.

From the White Ape Demon's perspective, Tu San and Wu Li were in cahoots.

The vulture blocking the way in front and the crow watching the show from behind—if this wasn't being in cahoots, what was?

"Roar!"

Blood-red light flared in the White Ape Demon's eyes. He pounded his chest fiercely with both fists, producing dull "thud-thud" sounds. His gaze was locked onto Tu San, baring his fangs and revealing a mouthful of tusks.

Tu San was also sizing up the White Ape Demon at this moment.

A white-furred ape, First Stage Mid-level, with muscles coiled all over his body, clutching a thick wooden club in his claws, stood on Desolate Ridge. His blood-red eyes were wide as bronze bells, and his entire body exuded a violent aura.

'Still so arrogant after stealing something?'

Tu San's eyes narrowed, a fierce glint flickering within them.

'Not running away is one thing, but daring to yell in front of me?'

"Roar!!"

The White Ape Demon roared again and took a step forward, shaking the ground.

Tu San's feathers stood on end, and he was just about to speak.

"Great King!"

Wu Li's voice came from behind, hurried and shrill, as if he had been scared out of his wits.

"That thing was so hard for us to snatch! It absolutely... must not be taken away!"

One sentence.

The Ape Demon heard one thing, and Tu San heard another...

The Ape Demon heard this and assumed Wu Li and Tu San were together, having stolen the item and now refusing to let it be taken back.

And Tu San heard this as: Wu Li had worked hard to snatch the precious plant, and now the White Ape was trying to take it, so he had to snatch it back.

"Die!"

Tu San's voice was cold as shards of ice. His wings spread wide, and his body shot toward the White Ape Demon like an arrow.

At the same time, the White Ape Demon moved too.

"Roar!!"

He raised the thick wooden club in his hands, carrying a whistling sound as he smashed fiercely toward Tu San!

"Bang!!!"

The wooden club collided with Tu San's claws, producing a dull, massive sound.

Tu San's body was knocked askew, but his claws also tore fiercely into the White Ape Demon's shoulder, ripping away a piece of flesh.

Blood splattered.

The White Ape Demon, in pain, became even more furious. The wooden club whistled as he swung, smashing at Tu San again and again.

Tu San did not back down. Flapping his wings, his body nimbly wove through the gaps of the wooden club, his sharp claws continuously leaving bloody marks on the White Ape Demon's body.

One ape and one vulture were locked in a fierce battle.

On Desolate Ridge, gravel flew as roars and screeches intertwined.

Wu Li perched on the branch behind, tilting his head, watching the scene before him, his bean-sized black eyes full of mirth.

"Caw-caw-caw~"

He let out a low, hoarse laugh. The sound was not loud, but it was perfectly masked by the sounds of the battle.

Fight.

The harder you fight, the better.

The battle lasted for about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea.

The White Ape Demon already had over a dozen bloody marks on his body, his grayish-white fur soaked through with blood, turning a dark red.

His breathing became rapid, and the speed at which he swung the wooden club slowed down. The loss of blood caused his strength to wane bit by bit; his steps began to falter, and his attacks were no longer as ferocious as at the beginning.

A trace of triumph flashed in Tu San's eyes.

Although he had been hit a few times by the White Ape Demon's club and had lost a few feathers from his wings, compared to the White Ape Demon's injuries, these were nothing.

"A big idiot like you dares to fight your Third Master?"

Tu San laughed shrilly, his claws once again raking fiercely toward the White Ape Demon's chest.

The White Ape Demon grunted, another bloody mark appearing on his chest, and his body staggered back two steps.

Tu San pressed his advantage, flapping his wings fiercely, his body shooting toward the White Ape Demon's face like an arrow, his sharp claws aimed straight for his eyes!

Just at this moment...

The White Ape Demon stopped his retreat.

His body suddenly went stiff, as if something had exploded inside him.

Bloodshot veins suddenly covered those blood-red eyes, and deep within his pupils, it seemed as if a ball of fire was burning.

Tu San's claws had already reached in front of the White Ape Demon, less than three feet from his eyeballs.

The White Ape Demon did not dodge.

He raised his head, opened his mouth, and let out a deafening roar!

"Roar!!!"

That sound did not resemble a normal ape's roar; it was the power from the depths of his Bloodline completely igniting under this life-or-death crisis.

A violent aura exploded from within the White Ape Demon!

His muscles suddenly expanded, veins bulging, like coiled tree roots entrenched beneath his skin.

His grayish-white fur stood on end, glowing with a faint blood-red light. In those blood-red eyes, it seemed as if two balls of fire were dancing.

First Stage Mid-level Peak.

Infinitely close to First Stage Late Stage.

Tu San's pupils shrank to pinpricks!

"Innate Divine Ability?!"

He shrieked, his voice full of terror.

This was something he had never expected.

A white-furred ape, First Stage Mid-level, had actually achieved Awakening of a Divine Ability?

Such a specimen, in the Wanhui Mountain Range, would be hard to find even among a hundred!

The White Ape Demon stretched out his giant palm, five fingers like hooks, and swiped fiercely at Tu San.

Tu San's reaction was extremely fast; he flapped his wings fiercely, his body shooting upward, trying to fly out of the White Ape Demon's attack range. But the White Ape Demon's speed was more than twice as fast as before, and that giant palm followed like a shadow, grabbing Tu San's leg!

"Oh no!"

Tu San struggled desperately, his claws flailing in the air, his other leg kicking hard at the White Ape Demon's wrist, but the White Ape Demon's fingers were like cast iron, unmoving.

"Roar!"

The White Ape Demon roared, his arm swinging violently, dragging Tu San down from mid-air!

"Bang!"

Tu San's body slammed heavily onto the ground, creating a shallow pit, gravel flying everywhere.

Before he could react, the White Ape Demon had already grabbed his other leg, lifting him up as if he were holding a small chick.

Then...

Smash!

Smash to the left.

Smash to the right.

Smash upwards.

Smash downwards.

The White Ape Demon seemed to have gone mad, clutching Tu San's body and slamming it against the ground with all his might.

Every time he slammed down, the ground shook, gravel flew, and dust rose. Tu San's screams echoed across Desolate Ridge, shrill and despairing.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

One time, two times, three times...

Tu San's feathers scattered everywhere, his grayish-brown wings smashed into a distorted shape. Blood seeped from the edges of his beak, nostrils, and ears, dripping onto the ground, a shocking sight.

His struggles became weaker and weaker, and his screams grew fainter and fainter.

The White Ape Demon, however, had no intention of stopping, his blood-red eyes filled with madness, as if he wanted to vent all the anger of the past three days onto this vulture.
