30: Chapter 30 Wu Li's Harvest

Afterward, Wu Li's gaze fell toward the cave entrance. The Immortal Cave of the Earth Lizard Ancestor.

That old lizard had occupied Wanhui Mountain for so many years; although it was merely a tool raised by the Old Ancestor of the Yunshan Sect, having entrenched itself here for decades, it was impossible for its lair to be completely devoid of treasures.

Even if the Earth Lizard Ancestor didn't use them itself, it should have at least accumulated some Spirit Medicine, Magical Artifacts, or Medicinal Pill remnants fed to it by Human Race Cultivators.

Wu Li hesitated for a moment, but ultimately spread his wings and flew toward the cave entrance.

The interior of the cave was in a state of utter disarray.

The stone walls on both sides of the passageway were covered in claw marks and dried bloodstains, while the ground was littered with rubble and broken bones. The air was thick with a foul, decaying stench.

Wu Li flew close to the cave wall, his bean-sized black pupils scanning the surroundings vigilantly, ready to handle any sudden situations at any moment.

Passing through the passageway, ahead lay that massive stone grotto.

The grotto was not large; one could see everything in it at a glance.

Apart from the high platform of white bones and the scattered bones, there were only a few protruding rocks in the corners and some cracks on the walls.

Wu Li landed on the pile of rubble on the high platform and scratched around with his claws.

Beneath the rubble, there was nothing but bones—nothing else.

"It can't be…"

A trace of doubt flashed in Wu Li's eyes.

He flew around the grotto once, carefully inspecting the vast majority of it, but he found nothing. There was no Spirit Medicine, not even anything containing Spiritual Qi.

Wu Li landed in the center of the grotto, tilting his head, a trace of disappointment flashing in his bean-sized black pupils.

"Is it actually a pauper?"

Wu Li refused to give up and circled the grotto once more.

His bean-sized black pupils shimmered with a faint light in the dimness, not letting a single corner escape his notice.

"Hmm?"

At this moment, when he flew to the back of the grotto, Wu Li's wings suddenly paused.

There was a breeze.

It was not the draft from the cave entrance, but an extremely faint breeze seeping out from a crack in the stone wall.

Wu Li hovered in mid-air, tilting his head as he looked at that stone wall.

The wall looked no different from the surroundings: grayish-brown rock, rough surface, covered in fine cracks. Wu Li moved closer and tapped it gently with his claw.

"Thump, thump."

The sound was off.

It wasn't the dull thud of solid rock, but carried a hint of a hollow echo.

A trace of excitement flashed in Wu Li's eyes.

He stepped back a few paces and flapped his wings violently. Two sharp gusts of wind shot out from his wingtips, slamming fiercely into the stone wall!

"Boom!"

Rubble flew, and dust filled the air.

The stone wall was blasted open, revealing a hidden cave behind it.

Wu Li landed at the entrance and poked his head in to look.

The cave was small, roughly a square zhang in size, but the Spiritual Qi was so dense it was almost tangible. Several fist-sized night-luminescent pearls were embedded in the stone walls, emitting a soft glow that illuminated the entire cave as if it were daytime.

In the center of the cave stood a stone platform.

On the platform, at the very center, a scarlet crystal floated silently, hovering about three inches above the surface, rotating slowly.

The crystal was the size of a fist and blood-red throughout. Inside, it seemed as if liquid were flowing, and countless tiny specks of light could be vaguely seen swimming within it, as if they were living things.

Wu Li's pupils constricted sharply.

He could feel that the crystal radiated a strange power; just staring at the crystal made his mind feel clear.

"What kind of treasure is this?"

"There's a fluctuation of Primordial Spirit power…"

Wu Li whispered, his voice tinged with disbelief.

Around the Soul Crystal, there were several other items placed. Six celadon porcelain bottles, their mouths sealed with Talismans, with Spiritual Qi faintly circulating within.

Wu Li used his beak to peck open a bottle stopper and leaned in to sniff. A crisp medicinal fragrance wafted out, carrying a faint scent of vegetation. It wasn't a Medicinal Pill, but the aroma of some kind of Spirit Liquid.

He poured out a drop. The Spirit Liquid was light green and crystal clear. It landed on his claw tip and instantly seeped into his skin.

A cooling power surged into his body along his claw, rushing straight to his Sea of Consciousness. In Wu Li's mind, everything became clear, as if something had been cleansed.

"This must be Spirit Liquid."

A trace of excitement flashed in Wu Li's eyes.

He had seen this stuff once in his past life at the peak of Kunlun, but the quality was far inferior to what was in front of him; that was likely due to the Spiritual Qi being too thin in that era.

"So much!"

Wu Li checked all six porcelain bottles; they were all the same kind of Spirit Liquid, and the quality was not bad at all.

Six porcelain bottles—there had to be at least sixty drops.

Beside the Soul Crystal was a silver-white spirit mushroom, palm-sized, with thick leaves and a faint glow.

At the stem of the spirit mushroom, fine patterns were vaguely visible.

Besides that, there were some green Spirit Fruits that Wu Li had seen before over at Jiu Tian's place.

These must have been offered by Jiu Tian.

There were three of them in total, all ripe, but these things were useless after eating one, so they weren't anything special.

Finally, there was the spirit mushroom.

Wu Li couldn't recognize what kind of spirit mushroom it was, but the intense Soul Power fluctuation was several times stronger than the Spirit Liquid in the bottles.

"Good stuff… all good stuff…"

Wu Li's voice was hoarse and hurried, his eyes filled with irrepressible excitement.

He didn't hesitate in the slightest, extending his right claw to grab the Soul Crystal from the stone platform.

The Soul Crystal felt icy cold in his grasp, and that wave of Soul Power surged into his body along his claw.

Wu Li's Sea of Consciousness shook violently, as if it had been filled to the brim by something.

He held the Soul Crystal in his mouth and grabbed two porcelain bottles with his claws.

With a flap of his wings, he swept the remaining four porcelain bottles and the silver-white spirit mushroom to the side, preparing to carry them away in two trips.

Wu Li flew out of the cave, placed the first batch of items on the open ground outside, then turned and flew back to retrieve the second batch.

Two trips back and forth, and the items in the secret chamber were completely cleared out by him.

Afterward, Wu Li retrieved the robes from the corpse of a Human Race Cultivator outside and used them to wrap everything up.

"Haha, this trip was worth it."

"Right, these corpses shouldn't be wasted either!"

Wu Li held the bundle in his mouth and flapped his wings violently. His black silhouette cut through the twilight as he flew toward Desolate Ridge.

He flew very fast.

He wasn't sure if Huo Xuan would suddenly return; after all, from their previous conversation, Wu Li knew clearly that this Earth Lizard Ancestor was the product of their plotting.

Soon, Desolate Ridge was reached.

The nest was still there.

Wu Li landed on the edge of the nest, carefully placed the bundle on the dry grass, and scratched it a couple of times with his claw.

Only after confirming that everything was intact did he breathe a sigh of relief.

The Soul Crystal, the six porcelain bottles, the silver-white spirit mushroom—not a single item was missing.

Wu Li tilted his head to look at these items, a trace of satisfaction flashing in his eyes, but he had no time to examine them in detail.

He turned around, spread his wings, and flew toward the south again; outside the cave, there was still a pile of corpses waiting for him to deal with.

The corpse of the Vulture Demon, the corpse of the Python Demon, the remains of the Earth Lizard Ancestor, over a dozen corpses of Human Race Cultivators… these were all good things.

The Vulture Demon and the Python Demon were at the Late Stage of the First Order, and their flesh and blood contained rich Demon Power.

Although the Human Race Cultivators did not have high cultivation, their Physical Bodies at the Qi Refining realm were also a great supplement for Yao Beasts.

As for the withered remains of the Earth Lizard Ancestor, although its essential blood had been drained, its scales, bones, claws, and teeth were all good Materials if cleaned up.
