50: Chapter 50 The Strange Tiger

He couldn't run anymore.

In terms of speed, Wu Li found that he simply could not compare to Tiger Biao.

Although this creature couldn't fly, its explosive speed on the ground far exceeded his flight speed. Combined with its use of the terrain, if he kept running, he would be pounced upon before he could even fly out of the valley entrance.

Wu Li took a deep breath, stopped his flight, and hovered in mid-air, his tiny black pupils staring intently at Tiger Biao, who was sprinting below.

Demon Power surged wildly within his body, and blood-colored scriptures emerged from beneath his feathers, swirling around him.

The Blood Eye Shadow on his forehead snapped open, and its crimson light enveloped the entire valley.

"With resentment as the guide, and blood as the medium, resentment binds the Soul, and bloody light captures the spirit; the curse is cast invisibly, and the Soul is extinguished without a trace."

"Blood Resentment Curse!"

Wu Li chanted the incantation, and from his Blood Pupil, countless grayish-black lines of resentment condensed, turning into an invisible blade that stabbed straight into Tiger Biao's mind!

*Buzz!!!*

Tiger Biao, who was in the middle of a sprint with its hind legs already pressing off the stone wall to leap and pounce again, suddenly stiffened.

The moment the Blood Resentment Curse entered its body, countless shrill cries and roars exploded in its mind. The resentment rampaged through its Sea of Consciousness, like countless needles piercing its Soul.

"Roar!!"

Tiger Biao let out a painful roar, and its sprinting body fell from the stone wall, crashing heavily onto the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Its body trembled violently, its four paws kicking wildly on the ground, and its steel-needle-like short fur stood on end, as if it were enduring immense pain.

Wu Li did not linger. Taking advantage of the moment Tiger Biao was ensnared by the Blood Resentment Curse, he flapped his wings vigorously, shooting toward the Stone Forest like an arrow.

Behind him,

Tiger Biao's roars were still echoing, but they grew further and weaker.

Wu Li flew out of the valley, disappearing into the depths of the dense forest without looking back.

Even after Wu Li's figure disappeared into the horizon, the commotion in the valley did not quiet down.

"Roar..."

Tiger Biao lay on the ground, its body still trembling slightly, but the intensity was growing smaller and smaller.

The roars of resentment that had been rampaging through its mind were dissipating bit by bit, like a receding tide.

If Wu Li were still here, he would have noticed that something seemed wrong with this Tiger Biao.

Its breathing became steady, and the low growls in its mouth turned from shrill to weak before completely vanishing. In its dark-gold pupils, the violence and madness were slowly receding.

Tiger Biao just stood there, head lowered, motionless.

Its gaze shifted from unfocused to concentrated, and from Chaos to clarity, as if it had just awakened from a long dream.

"I... I..."

Tiger Biao began to have thoughts...

However, this state did not last long at all.

Those dark-gold pupils began to tremble slightly again.

Beneath the calm exterior, something was surging, trying to break through its shackles. The violence and intent to kill, temporarily suppressed by the Blood Resentment Curse, were reviving bit by bit.

Tiger Biao's eyes began to lose focus once more.

The clarity was fading, and Chaos rushed back up. Within its pupils, the tranquility was torn apart once more.

"No..."

"No, no!"

Tiger Biao began to growl, the sound squeezed from the depths of its throat, growing louder and more rapid. Its body began to shake, and its four paws clawed at the ground, sending dirt flying and pebbles rolling.

"Roar!"

Tiger Biao suddenly raised its head and let out a suppressed roar.

Its eyes were being refilled with violence and intent to kill, like a bursting flood, unstoppable.

It began to run amok, its massive body rampaging through the valley, smashing boulders, knocking down withered trees, and collapsing stone walls.

Shards of stone flew and dust filled the air as the entire valley trembled under its fury.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!"

Tiger Biao frantically crashed into everything around it, as if trying to vent that uncontrollable power.

But the more it rampaged, the denser the violence in its eyes became, and the stronger the intent to kill grew. It could no longer think, nor could it even control its own body; only the most primitive, purest instinct for destruction remained.

Finally,

At the very moment its gaze was about to be completely consumed by the violent intent to kill, Tiger Biao locked onto the cliff face on one side of the valley.

Staring intently at the cliff face, a final, strange trace of calm flashed through its dark-gold pupils—the last sliver of clarity before the violence completely took over.

It took a few steps back, and then suddenly accelerated!

Its four paws moved like the wind, its massive body dragging an afterimage across the ground as it charged at the cliff face.

*Boom!!!*

With a deafening crash, Tiger Biao's head slammed violently into the cliff face.

Stone fragments sprayed everywhere, and a huge crater was smashed into the cliff face, with cracks spreading in all directions like a spider's web.

Tiger Biao's body stiffened in front of the cliff face. After swaying a few times, it finally crashed heavily to the ground, on the verge of losing consciousness.

Before passing out...

Tiger Biao's pupils seemed to focus once more, and Wu Li's figure seemed to flash through its eyes one last time...

...

On this side,

Wu Li flew back to the Stone Forest with the six tiger blood vermilion fruits. Entering the depths of the Limestone Cave, he landed on a blue stone by the pool and placed the vermilion fruits one by one in front of him. The crimson fruits glowed with a faint golden light under the moonlight, and the patterns on their skins looked like Dragon scales or tiger stripes, with Spiritual Qi so dense it almost seemed about to drip.

"I'm finally back."

Crouching on the blue stone, Wu Li stared at the vermilion fruits with his tiny black eyes, but his mind was still replaying the scene from earlier.

Fortunately, that Tiger Biao only possessed combat instincts and lacked intelligence.

If it had even a bit of intelligence, he couldn't imagine how monstrously powerful it would be.

Within the same rank, other than the Dragon kin and those exceptionally gifted exotic beasts, there probably weren't many Yao Beasts that could head-on withstand Tiger Biao's attacks.

Its strength, speed, defense, and explosive power were almost entirely on a crushing level.

"Vicious Beasts... are truly powerful..."

Wu Li murmured softly, a trace of wariness flashing in his eyes.

He shook his head to dismiss these thoughts, his gaze falling back onto the six vermilion fruits in front of him.

In any case, this trip was not in vain. Each of the six tiger blood vermilion fruits was a treasure that took a hundred years to mature, enough to last him for a while.

Wu Li extended his right claw, nudged one vermilion fruit in front of him, and then looked at the remaining five.

He calculated that he would keep one to eat and see its effects, and of the remaining ones, he would need to use one to activate his talent to predict what would happen next, so he could prepare and plan ahead.

He needed to perform a divination regarding Lord Tunming's people, the Secret Realm, and that Tiger Biao.

"One to eat, one to sacrifice, and four to keep."

Wu Li nodded. Wrapping the five vermilion fruits in his Demon Power, he let them hover by his side, leaving only one in his claw. He looked down at the vermilion fruit, a hint of anticipation flashing in his eyes.

"I'll eat one first to see the effect."

Wu Li lowered his head, opened his beak, and gave it a gentle peck.

The skin of the tiger blood vermilion fruit ruptured, and its juice gushed out. A rich, bloody scent mixed with the fresh fragrance of vegetation exploded in his mouth.

The taste was unlike that of ordinary spirit fruits; it was more like chewing on a piece of flesh soaked in Spirit Medicine—savory-sweet, intense, and carrying a hint of burning heat.
