70: Chapter 70 Yin-Yang Magic Ring
With a thought from Su Wanyue, two flying rings whistled out, tracing two silvery-white arcs in the air; wherever they passed, the air was torn asunder, emitting sharp whistling sounds.
Wu Li's gaze was immediately drawn to them, and a surge of heat welled up within him.
"This is the thing that almost took our lives."
Su Wanyue's voice was weak.
"This object should be called the Yin and Yang Rings."
"According to my estimation, this is a High Grade Acquired Spirit Treasure with nine Restrictions. Once refined, it can be controlled by thought. The Yang Essence Blade Ring destroys the Physical Body, and the yin soul blade ring slays the Primordial Spirit."
Upon hearing this, Wu Li's eyes widened.
"This is a great treasure."
Su Wanyue gave a bitter smile, her voice weak: "What great treasure? This object has nine inscribed Restrictions. To completely refine it, one needs at least the Golden Core Realm. To fully unleash all nine Restrictions, only a great cultivator at the Nascent Soul Realm could do it."
"In my current state, I cannot refine it."
"If you can't, can't I?" Wu Li added.
"You are a Yao Beast, can you refine it?"
Wu Li didn't waste words.
He flicked his wings, and his Demon Power transformed into an invisible current, directly sweeping the pair of Yin and Yang Rings from in front of Su Wanyue.
As the rings came into his possession, the next second, both rings vibrated simultaneously, bursting with blinding red and blue light. Their sharp edges exposed, they began to spin wildly, actually attempting to break free from Wu Li's control.
Su Wanyue was shocked at the sight.
"Be extremely careful! This thing attacks on its own! I was the one injured by that yin soul blade ring."
Before the words had even faded, the rings had already moved.
The Yang Essence Blade Ring transformed into a crimson streak of light, spinning madly as it went straight for Wu Li's face, while the yin soul blade ring turned into an icy-blue blade of light, slashing at his throat from the side.
The two rings struck together, fast as lightning. Wu Li glared.
"Suppress!"
His hoarse voice was not loud, but Wu Li's entire body was suffused with blood-colored light, and the Colorless Profound Light surged out from within him, enveloping the two rings like a tidal wave.
"Boom!"
The crimson and icy-blue lights trembled violently under the shroud of the Colorless Profound Light, struggling desperately, yet unable to break free.
Wherever the Profound Light reached, all things lost their color.
"Hum~~"
Wu Li's Demon Power churned within him, and the Colorless Profound Light expanded wildly, suppressing all colors in the surroundings with Wu Li at the center, forcing even Su Wanyue to retreat far away.
"An ownerless object dares to revolt!"
"Down!"
"Boom!"
The Restrictions on the rings were suppressed layer by layer, until all nine Restrictions lost their luster under the crushing pressure of the Colorless Profound Light.
"Hum~"
The two rings emitted a low hum simultaneously, as if submitting, or perhaps mourning.
The red and blue lights slowly dissipated, replaced by a faint silvery-white halo, gentle as jade, a stark contrast to their previously exposed sharp edges.
The two rings slowly shrank.
With a thought, Wu Li sent the two small rings flying out of the Profound Light, and they respectively slipped onto his left and right ankles. The silvery-white rings pressed tightly against his ink-purple feathers, gleaming with an eerie cold light in the moonlight, like two exquisite anklets.
He could clearly feel that the rings were connected to his mind; there was no need for incantations or hand seals. With just a single thought, the rings would move in response.
Wu Li lowered his head to look at the two small rings on his ankles, a flash of satisfaction crossing his bean-sized black pupils.
He tried to activate the Yang Essence Blade Ring; the ring on his right ankle suddenly brightened, transforming into a crimson streak of light that circled around him before obediently shrinking back to his ankle.
He then activated the yin soul blade ring; the ring on his left ankle moved in response, transforming into an icy-blue blade of light that silently sliced through the night sky, leaving a deep cut on a distant stone pillar before shrinking back.
The corners of Wu Li's mouth lifted slightly, and he retracted the rings, looking at Su Wanyue in the distance.
"You refined this thing? How did you do it?"
Su Wanyue's voice was dry.
Wu Li responded calmly.
"You're overthinking it."
"A Spirit Treasure with nine Restrictions—how could a Tier 2 Demonic Beast like me refine all of them? I merely relied on my innate Divine Ability to temporarily suppress the internal Restrictions of the rings, taking the opportunity to refine one Restriction in each of the Yang Essence Blade Ring and the yin soul blade ring."
He paused, lifting his right foot; the small ring on his ankle gleaming with an eerie silver light in the moonlight.
"What I can do now is very simple; I cannot unleash its full power."
"That is enough."
Su Wanyue praised him, but soon realized something, her voice rising in pitch: "That's not right. You've refined this thing, so what will I use to ask for protection?"
Wu Li waved his wings, his tone indifferent.
"Don't you still have that armor? Although it's a bit broken, it should be enough to offer to the Mountain Master."
Su Wanyue was silent for a moment, her expression not looking very good.
Wu Li continued.
"Moreover, you don't need to worry about Lord Tunming recently. Something happened on his end; he was severely injured by a passing old Buddhist practitioner and is cowering in the Underworld, afraid to come out. He won't have the chance to trouble you for a short time."
Su Wanyue's eyes lit up.
But soon, Wu Li poured some cold water on her.
"What you should be worrying about now are those enemies of yours outside."
"Those people from the Bai family have already found their way here. Four came today, carrying a compass, and they tracked the location where that old thing died."
Su Wanyue's expression sank completely, her lips pressed into a thin line.
Wu Li crouched on the stone pillar, looking at Su Wanyue's gloomy face, and asked.
"Any ideas?"
Su Wanyue shook her head helplessly, her voice full of bitterness.
"What can I do? My Physical Body is hidden here, and I have no way to leave this Mass Grave. They have already determined my location. I can't run, and I can't hide..."
Speaking of this, she paused, a flash of ruthlessness in her eyes: "I can only kill them one by one as they come."
Wu Li nodded.
Given Su Wanyue's situation, this was indeed the case.
With her remains unremoved, her soul was trapped on this land. Without absolute cultivation, she simply couldn't leave.
She couldn't hide, and she couldn't run. Besides bracing for it, there really was no other good way.
"Let's take it one step at a time."
As Wu Li spoke, his gaze fell upon the two golden spirit fruits on the ground, a flash of greed in his eyes.
He extended his right claw and nudged the two spirit fruits in front of him, muttering: "By the way, you probably don't want these fruits, right? Then I'll take them first."
As soon as the words fell, before Su Wanyue could react, Wu Li opened his mouth and swallowed the two golden spirit fruits into his Stomach Storage in two bites.
The spirit fruits disappeared without a trace, and two warm waves of Spiritual Qi appeared in the space of his Stomach Storage.
Su Wanyue froze for a moment, then immediately reacted. Her figure flashed, and she floated directly in front of Wu Li, her blood-red eyes glaring at him: "You..."
Wu Li tilted his head, his bean-sized black pupils showing no trace of guilt.
