98: Chapter 98 Blazing Sun Demon-Slaying Formation

Wu Li opened his eyes, and a sharp light flickered within his blood-red pupils.

He named this Formation the "Blazing Sun Ghost-Slaying Formation."

He could not set it up in the Stone Forest; the Stone Forest was his lair. Once the Formation was activated and the yang power erupted, the Yin Qi in the Stone Forest would be swept away, and the flock of crows would not be able to endure it.

Thinking of this.

Wu Li put the sun stone, yang pearl, and command flag into his Stomach Storage, spread his wings, flew out of the Limestone Cave, and headed straight toward the outskirts of Taiyue Mountain.

Wu Li circled in the sky above the outskirts of Taiyue Mountain, his blood-red pupils scanning the mountains and dense forests below.

He needed a sun-encompassing depression—a low-lying area surrounded by mountains on three sides with one opening, capable of gathering the Essence of the Sun while locking the yang power within the depression so it would not leak out.

There were many such terrains on the outskirts of Taiyue Mountain, but it had to satisfy another condition.

It had to be a hundred miles away from the Stone Forest, with no powerful Yao Race occupying the surrounding area, only some minor Yao.

He did not want to be disturbed by other Yao Beasts while setting up the Formation.

He flew in the air for about half an hour and finally found a suitable depression at the southeastern foot of Taiyue Mountain.

The depression was surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the opening facing east, directly toward the direction where the sun rose.

The terrain was low-lying, the surrounding trees were sparse, and weeds grew in abundance; only a few wild rabbits and pheasants were foraging in the depression.

Wu Li folded his wings and landed on a boulder at the edge of the depression. His blood-red pupils scanned the interior of the depression; there was no aura of any Yao Beast, only some unintelligent minor Yao.

He released his aura, and the Demon Power of a Late Stage Tier 2 Demonic Beast spread out like a tidal wave, instantly enveloping the entire depression.

The wild rabbits, pheasants, snakes, insects, rats, and ants scattered and fled, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.

Wu Li nodded, leaped from the boulder, and landed in the center of the depression.

He took out the sun stone, yang pearl, command flag, and nine Five Thunder Exorcism Talismans one by one from his Stomach Storage and began to set up the Formation according to the plan he had previously deduced.

The sun stones were buried in the three corners of the depression in a triangular distribution, flush with the ground, and covered with soil and gravel, leaving no trace.

The command flags were inserted between the sun stones and the opening of the depression, one on the left and one on the right, with the flag faces pointing outward. The flagpoles were buried underground, with only a palm-sized portion of the flag face visible, mostly obscured by weeds.

The Five Thunder Exorcism Talismans were affixed to the command flags. The paper of the Talismans merged with the flag faces, and the golden runes were dim and lusterless, impossible to detect without careful observation.

The yang pearl was suspended in the center of the depression, three feet off the ground, its golden light restrained. Viewed from afar, it was just an ordinary bead.

Finally, he took out the blank Formation Plate from his Stomach Storage and placed it on the ground directly below the yang pearl.

The center of the Formation Plate was aligned with the yang pearl, and the edges of the Formation Plate were aligned with the three sun stones. As he injected Demon Power, the runes on the surface of the Formation Plate lit up one after another, emitting a faint cyan light.

The connection between the Formation Plate, the sun stones, the yang pearl, the command flags, and the Talismans was established, and the Formation took shape.

Wu Li crouched on the boulder at the edge of the depression, his blood-red pupils fixed on the Formation in the depression, a flash of satisfaction in his eyes.

The Formation was complete; the sun stones, yang pearl, command flags, Talismans, and Formation Plate were all integrated into one, inextricably linked.

The sun stones provided yang power, the command flags guided the direction, the Talismans and the yang pearl provided the lethal moves, and the Formation Plate served as the hub.

The moment Lord Tunming stepped into the depression, the Formation Plate would sense his aura and automatically activate the Formation.

Yang power would surge from the sun stones, follow the guidance of the command flags, and converge at the command flags.

The Five Thunder Exorcism Talismans would merge with the yang power, transforming into two golden beams of light, one on the left and one on the right, sealing off Lord Tunming's escape route.

"Now, all that's missing is… bait!"

Thinking of this.

Wu Li's gaze turned toward the direction of the Mass Grave.

...

Meanwhile, deep within Taiyue Mountain, in the Nether Mansion.

Lord Tunming leaned against the bone throne, his ghostly green eyes half-open and half-closed. Golden Buddhist light still flickered over his body, and Ghost Qi was still steaming off him.

Blood Butcher knelt below, his head lowered.

Unexpectedly, Lord Tunming did not fly into a rage; he didn't even speak.

He simply leaned against the throne, eyes closed, fingers tapping gently against the bone armrest—tap, tap, tap—like a dull knife cutting into flesh.

"You may withdraw first. An important guest will be arriving shortly."

Blood Butcher acknowledged the order and quickly retreated.

Soon after.

Outside the mansion, a thick, powerful Demonic Qi surged in silently, washing over the Nether Death Qi like a tidal wave.

Then, a tall figure stepped out from the darkness. He did not release any pressure, but that invisible sense of oppression made Blood Butcher dare not look directly at him.

"I did not expect you to come personally."

Blood Butcher said respectfully.

But the visitor did not respond. Wrapped in a beam of demonic light, he entered the depths of the mansion.

Inside the mansion.

Lord Tunming bowed slightly, extended a withered arm, and made a gesture of invitation.

The figure did not stand on ceremony; he strode to a stone chair and sat down.

Lord Tunming sat back on his throne, his body leaning against the bone backrest. His ghostly green eyes watched the other party. He was silent for a moment before speaking, his voice hoarse and weak, devoid of arrogance.

"I'll be direct. As long as you are willing to take action, help me kill that crow, and find that female ghost, I can give you what you want most."

The figure's eyes narrowed, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, revealing a playful smile.

"What I want most?"

"I've been here for so many years, and even I don't know what I want most."

The man's voice was deep and resonant, but he spoke in a measured, unhurried tone.

Regarding this.

Lord Tunming chuckled softly.

He then took a fist-sized bead from his bosom, placed it on the stone table between them, and pushed it forward.

The bead was pitch black, with golden light faintly flowing within its cracks.

The figure looked down at the black bead and was silent for a moment. "What's the background of that crow?"

Lord Tunming shook his head: "An outsider, a Tier 2 Demonic Beast. He has some tricks, but he is nothing to worry about."

The figure nodded and continued.

"Not enough."

"This is already quite a lot; it is sufficient for what you need to do."

Lord Tunming continued.

After a few breaths.

The other party spoke.

"I haven't come to the outskirts for a long time. Madam Hua is in charge there, and her current attitude… is very peculiar. I cannot reveal myself for too long."

"You find their location yourself, and I will take action for you."

After saying this, the figure looked at Lord Tunming with a haughty gaze, carrying an immense sense of oppression.

Seeing this.

Lord Tunming nodded, a flash of gloom passing through his ghostly green eyes.

"Agreed."

The deal was struck.

The figure stood up, his tall shadow casting a gloom in the light of the ghost fire.

He looked down at Lord Tunming, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly in a meaningful smile.

"This matter must not be spread. If the others find out about our deal, I will absolutely destroy you to protect myself."

Lord Tunming leaned against the bone throne, his ghostly green eyes meeting the figure's gaze without any flinching.

"Rest assured about that. After all, from this moment on, aren't we in the same boat?"

The figure stared at him for a moment, said nothing more, turned around, and walked toward the outside of the mansion. His tall figure quickly disappeared into the darkness.

The cold wind in the mansion began to blow again, and the ghost fire flickered once more.

Lord Tunming leaned back on his throne, the corners of his mouth curling upward.
