157: Chapter 157 Flying Stream Workshop
"That Spider Demon was a minor demon under the Feiliu Workshop master. Now that Taiyue Mountain is about to be in turmoil, every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants a piece of the action."
Wu Li's pupils flashed with curiosity.
Feiliu Workshop.
He had heard of this name.
Su Wanyue had mentioned it before; it was a lawless zone.
Wu Li looked up at Lady Hua, his voice hoarse and calm: "Is this Feiliu Workshop a market established north of Taiyue Mountain, on the border between the Dachuan Dynasty and the Youyue Dynasty?"
Lady Hua nodded.
"Correct."
"It doesn't turn away customers; humans, demons, and ghosts can all coexist there. Most of them are Loose Cultivators hiding there because their Lifespan is nearing its end."
She paused, her light green eyes fixed on Wu Li, the corners of her mouth slightly upturned in a smile that wasn't quite a smile: "Why? Are you interested?"
Wu Li did not deny it, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly into a faint smile.
His voice was hoarse and flat, as if he were discussing something perfectly ordinary: "I need the blood of some Human Race Golden Core Cultivators. Should I be able to find it there?"
Lady Hua's eyes narrowed slightly, and the smile on her lips deepened.
"Feiliu Workshop is a gathering place for all sorts of people. Some Golden Core Cultivators wanted by the Dachuan Dynasty also hide there, and most of them are, as I just mentioned, nearing the end of their Lifespan."
A flash of light passed through Wu Li's blood-red pupils, but he remained silent.
Lady Hua continued, her voice dropping a few degrees: "But... the Spider Demon you just killed was one of the Feiliu Workshop master's people. Going there now..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but her meaning was clear.
Upon hearing this, the faint smile on Wu Li's face didn't change, and the light in his eyes even intensified.
"Does Lady Hua know the cultivation level of the Feiliu Workshop master?"
Lady Hua glanced at Wu Li, her voice cold: "Late Stage of the Third Realm."
Late Stage of the Third Realm.
Two small Realms higher than him.
Normally, he wouldn't provoke someone with such a gap.
But he had to go to Feiliu Workshop; the Three Variations of the Blood Eye was still just a little bit short.
"Lady Hua."
Wu Li spoke, his voice hoarse and calm, "If that Spider Demon died here, how long will it take for the Feiliu Workshop master to find out?"
Lady Hua's mouth curled slightly, and a hint of admiration flashed in her light green eyes. "He will know the moment the water mirror shatters."
Wu Li nodded.
If he knows, he knows.
He didn't plan to hide, nor did he plan to wait.
"How do I get to Feiliu Workshop?"
Lady Hua looked at Wu Li, silent for a moment, then spoke, her voice still cold but with a touch of seriousness: "Go eight hundred miles east, cross the northern foothills of Taiyue Mountain, and you will find the Black Water River. Follow the river upstream to its end, and you will reach Feiliu Workshop."
Wu Li memorized it.
He lowered his head and bowed to Lady Hua, "This trip might take some time, so please help me look after my subordinates."
"Rest assured."
"Many thanks, Lady Hua."
Before the words faded.
His wings snapped open, and his figure shot into the night sky like an arrow.
Crimson-gold flames danced on the blade of his halberd, tracing a sharp arc in the darkness.
Lady Hua stood where she was, watching Wu Li's figure disappear into the night, the smile on her lips fading slightly. She turned around, her bare feet stepping on the gravel, and walked step by step into the depths of the mist. Her figure grew fainter until it disappeared entirely.
In the night breeze, only a faint scent of flowers remained.
Eight hundred miles.
For an ordinary person, it would be a journey of several days.
For the Third Realm Wu Li, it was a matter of only an hour.
He flew close to the treetops, the great flame dragon halberd gripped in his right claw, the flame runes on the blade flickering as Demon Power surged through his body like a river.
Below, mountains and dense forests receded rapidly.
Under the moonlight, a streak of blood-red light cut through the night sky, as fast as a meteor.
...
At this moment.
Feiliu Workshop, the meeting hall.
The candles were bright, making the beast bone decorations on the walls flicker in and out of the light.
Master Mo Yuan sat in the main seat, his face as cold and hard as iron, his triangular eyes filled with gloom.
Behind him stood two black-robed Cultivators, their auras deep, at least at the Foundation Establishment Late Stage.
Besides him, several other figures sat scattered on both sides of the hall; they were all influential figures in Feiliu Workshop.
Zhao Heng sat in the guest seat, toying with a copper coin in his hand, a smile that wasn't quite a smile hanging on his lips.
"It seems Master Mo Yuan's layout has gone wrong."
Zhao Heng's voice was neither high nor low, carrying a hint of schadenfreude.
Master Mo Yuan snorted coldly, "It seems this Taiyue Mountain is truly as your Blood God Sect said, a hard bone to chew."
Zhao Heng smiled and did not respond.
Master Mo Yuan's gaze fell on the pile of shattered jade on the ground; it was the remains of the water mirror, smashed by Wu Li's halberd.
His face grew even gloomier, his fingers clenching until they creaked.
Although that water mirror wasn't a very precious Spiritual Artifact, having it smashed by a crow that appeared out of nowhere in front of so many people was a blow to his, Master Mo Yuan's, face.
"What is the background of that crow?"
Master Mo Yuan's voice was as cold as ice shards.
Zhao Heng picked up his teacup and took a sip, speaking unhurriedly: "He is from the outskirts of Taiyue Mountain and is very close to Lady Hua."
"His methods are strange, and his combat power is formidable."
After Zhao Heng finished speaking, Master Mo Yuan above also continued: "And that's not all; his Opportunity is not bad either."
"That fire halberd in his hand is at least at the Spirit Treasure level."
Zhao Heng put down his teacup, his eyes falling on Master Mo Yuan's face, the smile on his lips remaining, unhurried.
"Since that is the case, is Master Mo Yuan willing to cooperate with my Blood God Sect?"
Master Mo Yuan's eyes narrowed.
Zhao Heng continued: "Three years from now, led by Long City, the nearby immortal Sects will gather at Taiyue Mountain to hold trials. At that time, the elites of all the great Sects will be out, and their mountain gates will be empty. That is our Opportunity."
"Compared to Taiyue Mountain, which is just a small hill for the Yao Race, the real treasure lies in the foundations of those immortal Sects."
The hall fell silent.
The candlelight flickered, making everyone's faces appear in and out of the light.
The two black-robed Cultivators behind Master Mo Yuan exchanged glances, neither speaking.
Those sitting scattered on both sides, some lowered their heads, some picked up teacups, some narrowed their eyes; no one made a sound.
Master Mo Yuan leaned back in his chair, and the sound of his fingers tapping on the armrest stopped.
He stared at Zhao Heng for a long time.
"Cooperate with me?"
Master Mo Yuan sneered, his voice hoarse and deep, "It seems your Blood God Sect is truly at its wit's end."
These words were blunt, even carrying a hint of mockery.
But the smile on Zhao Heng's face did not change, and he didn't even blink.
"Circumstances make heroes; there is no such thing as an evergreen tree in this world."
"Whether my Blood God Sect is strong or in decline, it does not hinder us from working with you, Workshop Master, to bite off a piece of meat from the immortal Sects."
Master Mo Yuan stared at Zhao Heng, the mockery in his eyes gradually fading, replaced by a kind of scrutiny and calculation.
Although Zhao Heng's words were unpleasant, the reasoning was not false.
The immortal Sects were powerful, having been entrenched in the Dachuan Dynasty for hundreds of years, with deep roots.
But he, Master Mo Yuan, had been able to run Feiliu Workshop in the lawless zone for so many years not because of luck, but because of courage.
The courage rolled out from mountains of corpses and seas of blood.
"How do you want to cooperate?"
The smile on Zhao Heng's lips finally deepened a little.
