209: Chapter 209 There Won't Be a Second Time

At this moment.

Deep within Qingfeng Ravine, Wu Li slowly stood up.

After appearing, Wu Li stood on high ground, his ink-purple wings slightly unfurled, and his blood-red pupils gazed calmly at Horned Dragon.

"I am new here and originally did not want to cause trouble. Your men are dead, and my men are injured; both sides have suffered losses. Let this matter end here. How about you take your men and return?"

After Wu Li finished speaking, he stood calmly in place, his gaze landing on Horned Dragon as he quickly sized him up.

The aura of a Peak Third-Order, the true form of a Dragon, his aura was not ordinary. He was definitely a troublesome fellow, even a bit more troublesome than Master Mo Yuan from back then.

This was Wu Li's assessment of him...

Faced with Wu Li's words.

Horned Dragon did not nod. He stood there, his dark yellow slit pupils staring at Wu Li.

A moment later, the corners of Horned Dragon's mouth twitched slightly, pulling into an unfriendly arc.

"End here?"

Horned Dragon repeated the phrase, his tone carrying a thin layer of sneer.

"You killed my vanguard, crippled my capable subordinate, occupied the Immortal Cave in my territory, and then fought a battle at the entrance of the Immortal Cave. Your men bled, and my men died, and you say it should end here?"

"You think too highly of my willingness to negotiate."

Wu Li looked at him.

"So, in other words, you dog thing, you refuse to accept my goodwill?"

As Wu Li's words fell, the sneer on Horned Dragon's face instantly froze.

His dark yellow slit pupils contracted violently.

"I have stayed in Black Stone Ridge for so many years, and this is the first time a Yao Race member has dared to speak to me like this to my face."

"Rest assured, there won't be a second time. If you don't leave, I will make you stay here forever."

Wu Li responded in kind.

"Good, very good."

He took a step forward, and dark cyan Demon Power exploded from his body, wrapped in water vapor, churning around him like a thin mist.

Wu Li stood on high ground, the ripples of Demon Power spreading toward him reflected in his blood-red pupils.

He did not move, his ink-purple wings slightly unfurled, and he spread his right claw out in front of him.

A crimson-gold light ignited from his palm, flowing along his claw tips, condensing and extending in his palm to form a long halberd entirely red in color.

The halberd shaft was covered in flame runes, pulsing bright and dim as if breathing, and the halberd blade emitted a scorching golden-red light, baking the surrounding air until it slightly distorted.

great flame fire halberd.

The moment Horned Dragon saw the halberd, his pupils contracted slightly, as if he recognized something, but he didn't have time to look closely because Wu Li had already moved.

The halberd blade swept horizontally, carrying a crimson-gold arc of flame, slashing toward Horned Dragon's waist and abdomen.

Wherever the flames passed, the air hissed from the heat, and the gravel on the ground was lifted by the heat wave, scattering to both sides.

"Hmm?"

Horned Dragon did not take the blow head-on.

His body swayed, and he retreated half a step. The halberd blade grazed past his scale-armor robe, scorching the hem, but it did not injure his flesh.

Horned Dragon looked down at the scorch mark, then looked up at Wu Li. The smile on his face faded, and there was finally a hint of seriousness in his eyes.

"You have some skills!"

He opened his mouth, and a cold light shot out, landing in his palm to transform into a long blade that was entirely silver-white.

The blade was three feet long and two fingers wide, with an edge as thin as a cicada's wing, shimmering with a cold, piercing light, like a piece of ice ground into the shape of a blade.

The hilt was engraved with a dragon-scale pattern, identical to the scales on Horned Dragon's forehead, exuding water-vapor Demon Power of the same origin as Horned Dragon. He turned the hilt slightly in his hand, and the blade slashed a white shadow through the twilight.

"Come."

Horned Dragon charged forward, wielding the blade, which was wrapped in water vapor, turning into a white streak aiming straight for Wu Li's throat.

Wu Li blocked horizontally with his fire halberd. The halberd blade and the sword edge collided, emitting a piercing metallic clang, and sparks flew everywhere.

After the collision, the figures of the two Yao Race members retreated half a step simultaneously, then charged forward again at the same time. Blade and halberd crossed, and firelight and water vapor exploded in the night sky.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The two Yao Race members fought for dozens of rounds in an instant. Amidst the clashing of blade and halberd, firelight and water vapor constantly exploded in the twilight like layers of spreading waves, shaking the surrounding mountain walls and causing gravel to tumble down.

The water pool was steamed into a layer of white mist by the heat wave, only to be pressed back to the ground by Horned Dragon's water-vapor Demon Power.

Every time Wu Li's fire halberd slashed down, it brought out a crimson-gold arc of flame, and every time Horned Dragon's blade slashed, it left a damp, cold white mark in the air.

The aftermath of the collision between the two powers continued to spread, causing even the gravel on the distant mountain ridges to rustle and fall.

Meanwhile, on the north side of Black Stone Ridge.

Inside a cave built into a fissure in a cliff, the stench of blood was heavier than in Horned Dragon's lair.

Several corpses of the Human Race that had been mostly gnawed away hung at the entrance of the cave. When the wind blew, the bodies swayed gently, and the joints made a faint friction sound.

There were no lights inside the cave, only a few glowing Ore embedded in the rock walls, emitting a dark red light that illuminated the scene inside with flickering shadows.

The ground was littered with broken bones and fur, belonging to both Yao Beast and the Human Race, mixed together so that they were indistinguishable.

In the corner, there were piles of clothing that had been soaked in blood and dried, their original colors unrecognizable.

E Kuang was half-lying in the depths of the cave, leaning back in a large chair made of animal bones and rough wood.

His figure was much more hulking than Horned Dragon's. His true form was an E Kuang Lizard, and even in human form, he retained most of the characteristics of a Yao Beast. His body was covered in thick, gray-brown scale armor, the edges of the scales gleaming with a rust-like dark red luster, like a layer of rusted iron shell.

His head was also a full circle larger than an ordinary Yao Race member, with a protruding lower jaw and two rows of fangs turned outward. When he bit down, one could hear the dull sound of his upper and lower teeth grinding together.

He was holding a thick leg bone in his hand, using his teeth to scrape the remaining meat from the bone crevices. His E Kuangs ground against the bone, making a harsh scraping sound.

The sentry Yao Race member at the cave entrance walked in quickly, knelt on one knee, and lowered his voice.

"Great King, there is movement in the east."

"It seems Horned Dragon has taken his troops out. He is fighting someone in a mountain col to the west. They have been fighting for a while; the pressure is spreading very far, and gravel on the mountain ridges is falling down."

E Kuang's bone-scraping motion paused. He lifted his eyelids to look at the sentry, a glint flashing in his iron-gray slit pupils.

He put down the leg bone in his hand, his E Kuangs slightly opening and closing, and let out a low, deep laugh.

"Here, there is actually a Yao Race member who can fight against that guy, Horned Dragon?"

E Kuang's voice sounded like stones grinding on an iron plate, rough and dull.

"How many troops did he bring?"

"More than three hundred."

The sentry replied, "The group of Yao Race members fighting him are of unknown origin; they seem to be newcomers, I haven't seen them before."

E Kuang straightened his body in the bone chair, his scale armor rubbing together to make a faint sound.

He reached out to wipe the meat scraps from the side of his mouth and licked the grease from between his fingers, a faint layer of interest surfacing in his iron-gray slit pupils.

"Newcomer Yao? To be able to fight under Horned Dragon for so long without being eaten, interesting."

He stood up, his figure almost reaching the cave ceiling, his shadow stretching long in the dark red light. "Let's go, let's go see the excitement."
