202: Chapter 202 The $200 Billion Arms Deal with the Kingdom of Seya
Other small countries, including Oman, also purchased a batch of weapons and equipment according to their needs. Most of them purchased the Tianlei Series Anti-Aircraft Missile and the Tianlong Series UAV, with only a small portion purchasing armored vehicles.
Li Yi tallied them up; these small countries collectively provided 250 million barrels of oil and 12 billion cubic meters of natural gas, with a total value of around $16.8 billion. Although some small countries had relatively large amounts of oil and natural gas, their small land area meant they did not need many weapons and equipment, and thus consumed less oil and natural gas.
The procurement list for these small countries cumulatively included 300 sets of Tianlei Type III Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 1,250 supporting missiles; 150 sets of Tianlei Type IV Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 250 supporting missiles; and 100 sets of Tianlei Type V Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 2,500 supporting missiles.
They purchased 150 sets each of Tianlong Type I to Type II UAVs, along with 3,000 supporting air-to-ground missiles and 10,000 bombs. They also purchased 50 units each of Fierce Tiger Type II to Type IV armored vehicles, along with 20,000 rounds of various types of artillery shells, and 50 million rounds of machine gun ammunition for the armored vehicles.
The total procurement price for so many weapons and equipment was just about equal to the value of the oil and natural gas. Li Yi signed arms trading contracts with these small countries, and this arms trading fair came to an end.
This arms trading fair saw a cumulative transaction volume of over $132 billion in weapons and equipment. Excluding the $100 billion preferential procurement policy Li Yi gave to Pakistan, the transaction volume from other countries was not large, and combined, they did not even equal the procurement volume of a single purchase by Iran or Saudi Arabia.
After the arms trading fair concluded, Li Yi was suddenly approached by an uninvited guest. Introduced by Lieutenant General Sergei, the visitor was Major General Molovich from the Serbian military.
After some introductions, Major General Molovich said, "I heard from Lieutenant General Sergei that you sell weapons and equipment, and we intend to purchase a batch. You can sell to our country, right?"
"Yes. We can sell weapons and equipment in large quantities," Li Yi said.
"We intend to sell 20 million tons of coal to purchase weapons and equipment. You accept payment in coal, right?" Major General Molovich asked.
"We can accept payment in various energy and mineral resources such as coal, natural gas, and iron ore. But is that all the resources you have for sale?" Li Yi asked.
Major General Molovich nodded and said, "We only have this much coal available for sale; the rest of the coal needs to be supplied for domestic use."
"You can increase coal mining output to purchase weapons and equipment, and we can give you a three-year payment period. Can you increase coal production? Or you can increase the production of other mineral resources, and we will give you a three-year payment period," Li Yi said.
"But even if we increase production, we cannot transport it out," Major General Molovich said.
"We will solve the transportation problem. You just need to be responsible for mining and producing it," Li Yi said.
Major General Molovich quickly communicated with his home country. Serbia has coal reserves of 9.28 billion tons, but currently, the annual mining output is less than 40 million tons, so production can indeed be increased. As for mineral resources like iron, zinc, and copper, the reserves are relatively large, but the ore grade is low, so the mining output is relatively low.
After communicating, Major General Molovich said, "We can increase the supply by 200 million tons of coal over three years. Can you accept Molybdenite for payment? We can increase Molybdenite production by 100 million tons. As for copper ore, we can increase production by 150 million tons over three years. However, both the Molybdenite and copper ore are raw ores, unrefined, and of low grade."
Since Li Yi was just selling to the Multiverse Arms Trading System and would not be processing or smelting them at all, he said, "We can agree to all of these for payment. For coal, we will value it at $100 per ton; Molybdenite at $300 per ton; and copper ore at $1,000 per ton. Do you find these prices acceptable?"
Li Yi had just estimated a price for his quote and did not combine it with the specific ore grades provided by Serbia to make a detailed offer. Besides, there was no need for him to be that meticulous.
Major General Molovich immediately contacted his country. After some inquiries, he had the result and said, "We agree to your offer. So, does that mean 200 million tons of coal, 100 million tons of Molybdenite, and 150 million tons of copper ore total a value of $200 billion?"
"Yes, let's calculate it based on $200 billion. Every time you finish mining 10 million tons of minerals, we will go and transport them away. What weapons and equipment do you intend to purchase?" Li Yi said.
Major General Molovich did not expect Li Yi to agree so readily; this was $200 billion in procurement funds. Since the founding of Serbia, they had never used such a large amount of funds to purchase weapons and equipment.
Major General Molovich said, "I need to contact the military, and I will report the procurement list to you immediately after confirming it." After waiting for a period of time, Li Yi received the weapons and equipment procurement plan from Serbia.
They purchased 3,000 sets each of Tianlei Type I to Type II Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 20,000 supporting missiles each; 500 sets each of Tianlei Type III to Type IV Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 5,000 supporting missiles each; 300 sets each of Tianlei Type V to Type VI Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 800 supporting missiles each; 100 sets each of Tianlei Type VII to Type IX Anti-Aircraft Missile, plus 200 supporting missiles each; and two sets of Tianlei Missile Defense System.
They purchased 1,000 units each of Fierce Rhino Type II to Type IV tanks, plus 200,000 rounds of various types of artillery shells; 4,000 units each of Fierce Tiger Type II to Type IV armored vehicles, plus 820,000 rounds of various types of artillery shells; 1,000 units each of Fierce Lion Type II to Type IV artillery pieces, plus 220,000 rounds of various types of artillery shells; and 400 million rounds of machine gun ammunition for the armored vehicles.
They purchased 2,000 sets each of Tianlong Type I to Type II UAVs, plus 20,000 supporting air-to-ground missiles and 100,000 bombs. They purchased 3,000 sets each of Sky Arrow Type I to Type III anti-tank missiles, plus 10,000 supporting missiles each.
After some calculations, the weapons and equipment purchased by Serbia this time totaled exactly $200 billion, using up all the procurement funds at once.
Li Yi said, "We will deliver this batch of weapons and equipment in three phases, completing delivery within three months. The first phase will deliver the anti-aircraft missiles, the second phase will deliver the armored vehicles, and the third phase will deliver the remaining weapons and equipment. Is there any problem?"
Major General Molovich certainly had no objections and said, "Good."
"As for the usage area restrictions for these weapons and equipment, they will cover the Apennine Peninsula and the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula. That is acceptable, right?" Li Yi said.
"No problem." Major General Molovich actually only needed to use them within the territory of Serbia.
Soon, Li Yi and Major General Molovich signed the arms trading contract, concluding this $200 billion arms deal. Such a large quantity of weapons and equipment would be enough for Serbia to fully expand its military and reach its peak total troop strength.
