207: Chapter 207 Complete Suspension of Oil and Natural Gas Exports

Major General Ita and Colonel Yoni continuously gathered intelligence from the border and sent it back to the high-ranking military officials of Israel. As the Chief of Staff of the Israeli military, General Gadi looked at the armies of various Persian Gulf countries suddenly appearing at the border and could not help but recall several major wars from decades ago.

At that time, it was also a siege of Israel by multinational forces. Some were provoked by Persian Gulf countries, while others were provoked by Israel. The primary cause was the sudden placement of Israel into the Persian Gulf region by the USA, which led to conflicts between the two sides.

Now, with more and more troops from Persian Gulf countries gathering, General Gadi was somewhat nervous. However, as the victor of previous major wars, Israel was not particularly afraid of war. Moreover, Israel had occupied so much territory that the entire population was mobilized; soldiers and police carried firearms on the streets, ready for bloody suppression at any time.

However, these changes in the situation forced General Gadi to take emergency response measures, calling up some reservists to supplement and form units to deal with a potential war. At the same time, he urgently appealed to the USA, hoping the USA would step in to intimidate the Persian Gulf countries.

The USA still held considerable deterrence over the Persian Gulf countries. As long as the USA deployed its military bases and aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf, some Persian Gulf countries would back down.

After receiving orders from the United States Department of Defense, General Maitang immediately headed to the Persian Gulf. On one hand, he was to investigate the reasons for the USA's failure in Syria, and on the other hand, he was to warn the Persian Gulf countries not to act rashly, as the USA was capable of stirring up the internal situations of these nations.

After Lieutenant General Green was escorted back to MacDill Air Force Base in the USA, General Maitang participated in his interrogation to understand Lieutenant General Gran's response measures during the war in Syria.

Lieutenant General Green particularly emphasized that the Syrian army possessed a large amount of weapons and equipment, which resulted in the Opposition Armed Forces supported by the USA being completely unable to resist. The US military had suffered excessive losses in multiple battles and was forced to withdraw from Syria.

As for where the Syrian army obtained its weapons and equipment, Lieutenant General Green had not obtained any definitive intelligence. General Maitang was equally concerned about this issue, but since no ships sailing in the Persian Gulf had been found carrying weapons and equipment, he was also at a loss as to how these weapons and equipment reached the hands of the Syrian army.

Even though the USA had obtained some weapons and equipment for research, they only knew they were purchased from arms dealers. They intended to blockade the Persian Gulf to intercept weapons, but there had been no results. Instead, it caused countries whose ships were forcibly boarded for inspection to be full of grievances, though they were afraid to speak out or resist.

General Maitang went to Turkey to meet with some officers and soldiers who had withdrawn from Syria, comforting those who had been intimidated by the Syrian army and strengthening their confidence that the USA still possessed the strongest military power in the world, so as to prevent these officers and soldiers from affecting other US troops.

After all, the USA's withdrawal from Syria this time was not a voluntary one, but a passive withdrawal after being severely beaten by Syria several times. This was a very humiliating matter for the US military, and there was an urgent need to eliminate the negative impact.

During the meeting, General Maitang inquired about the details of the combat in Syria, including the investigation into the failure of the large-scale airstrikes. He realized once again that it was no longer possible for the USA to intervene in Syria and could only allow Syria to control its domestic situation. General Maitang was dissatisfied with these results, but he was temporarily helpless.

General Maitang then visited various US military bases in the Persian Gulf region, requesting that each base no longer initiate military actions to avoid unnecessary losses.

At the same time, he also met with high-ranking military officials from various countries in the Persian Gulf region, intending to pressure these countries not to launch a war against Israel.

However, to General Maitang's dissatisfaction, many countries did not meet with him and flatly refused the meeting. General Maitang could only give up resentfully; he couldn't very well threaten the operators, who were merely messengers.

Very few countries were willing to meet with General Maitang, and the ranks of those who did were not very high, lacking strong influence over their respective militaries. General Maitang expressed the USA's concern regarding the assembly of troops from Persian Gulf countries at the Israeli border. The response he received was only that they would offer advice, but without any commitments.

Seeing that the purpose of his trip to the Persian Gulf had not been achieved, General Maitang directly ordered the officers and soldiers of a military base in Saudi Arabia to conduct a military exercise, intending to warn the Saudi military.

However, Saudi Arabia did not agree to the USA using its territory for military exercises and simultaneously dispatched some troops to surround the vicinity of the military base to monitor the movements of the US military.

Seeing this situation, and lacking the determination to start a conflict, General Maitang had to suspend the military exercise.

Before returning to the USA, General Maitang requested each military base to strengthen its deterrence against the host country, letting these countries know there was a fierce tiger by their side, thereby affecting their confidence in supporting a war against Israel.

Seeing the unusual movements of the US military bases, the Persian Gulf Regional Cooperation Organization convened a meeting for discussion. After some contention, they decided no longer to yield to the USA; otherwise, the USA would have a detrimental impact on the Anti-Judea Coalition, potentially causing the war against Israel to fail before it even began.

To counter the threat from the USA, the armies of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, and others strengthened their surveillance of US military bases in the Persian Gulf region. As long as the US military made any non-compliant moves, they would immediately issue a warning and carry out expulsions.

As for the military bases established by the USA in smaller countries, these four nations would also provide protection for those small countries, dispatching troops in a timely manner to respond to the pressure from the US military and prevent these small countries from being coerced by the USA.

Naturally, the Persian Gulf Regional Cooperation Organization also decided that if the USA forcibly intervened in the war with Israel, they would not hesitate to use oil and natural gas as a weapon, completely suspending exports of oil and natural gas to the USA and European countries.

Such a measure would naturally affect the oil and natural gas exports of the Persian Gulf countries, significantly reducing their export income, but the impact on the USA and European countries would be even greater. It would not only cause energy prices to rise but also force these countries into an energy crisis.

If the USA continued to support Israel, they would directly threaten to announce the abandonment of using the US dollar for pricing and selling oil and natural gas, switching to the currency of China or other countries, striving to seize the initiative and force the USA to back down.
