245: Demon Race Warm-up

The Yao Race, this is a new highlight of Season Two.

Although the Xuanhuan World expanded the boundaries of imagination, many players also encountered Demonic Beasts and Yao Beasts.

However, the Yao Race is extremely rare within the Four Kingdoms, and one could even say they have never been exposed, so players' understanding of the Yao Race still seems very vague.

They don't know the specific situation.

Kumu Daoren previously self-destructed his Immortal Foundation and originally planned to restart immediately, but he was delayed by real-world trivia.

Coincidentally, news of Season Two came out, announcing the opening of the Yao Race, and he immediately decided to choose the Yao Race as his second life.

Because of this, he investigated a lot of intelligence about the Yao Race.

"To understand the Yao Race, first we need to understand the differences between Demonic Beasts, Yao Beasts, and Spirit Beasts, these three unique species."

Demonic Beasts are beasts with powerful Bloodlines and physiques, which can be directly understood as special beast species in the Xuanhuan World.

Their combat power is formidable, and they can also produce many precious Materials, but their intelligence is limited.

Even saying 'limited' is overestimating them; in reality, their intelligence is undeveloped.

Precisely because their intelligence is undeveloped, Demonic Beasts fully follow their instincts across the land, and thus often become pets raised by the Human Race.

"For the people of the Xuanhuan World, Demonic Beasts are somewhat similar to our real-world tigers and lions, merely more powerful beasts, without too many special qualities.

"Rather, whether they are special depends on the Demonic Beast's own race. Some Demonic Beasts might be less valuable than ordinary pigs and cows, but some Demonic Beasts' value can rival Golden Core elixirs."

Beyond Demonic Beasts, there are two other types of beasts: one is Spirit Beasts, and the other is Yao Beasts.

The difference between these two lies in their intelligence.

Spirit Beasts possess intelligence, but it is limited, mostly akin to a child's; they can understand the words of a Cultivator and react, but cannot comprehend more complex content.

The origins of Spirit Beasts are diverse; some are Demonic Beasts that gained intelligence through Opportunity, some are born alongside Heaven And Earth Treasure or spiritual mines, and some are the continuation of ancient species.

Because Spirit Beasts have a certain level of intelligence, Cultivators particularly like to contract Spirit Beasts to serve as helpers for chores like Alchemy and Artifact Refining, or as Protectors during Cultivation.

"Previously, Spirit Beasts also appeared in Mingshui Heaven, but they were eventually obtained by the natives and disappeared, which was quite a pity."

Kumu Daoren sighed and continued to introduce the last type of beast.

Yao Beasts.

Yao Beasts are completely different from the other two types of beasts.

The intelligence of Yao Beasts is almost no different from humans; they can even speak human words.

Coupled with the fact that many Yao Beasts possess terrifying abilities from Bloodline Legacy at birth, they often wreak havoc in an area, forcing the Human Race to retreat repeatedly.

"However, Yao Beasts are still beasts."

"The reason is that Yao Beasts cannot Cultivate Acquired abilities."

"All of a Yao Beast's strength comes from its Bloodline; the upper limit of its race determines the upper limit of the Yao Beast."

"They cannot draw Qi into their bodies, nor can they perform Core Formation or Nascent Soul formation. It is said that other Cultivation methods are also ineffective for Yao Beasts."

"As if scorned by Heaven and Earth, Yao Beasts cannot Cultivate."

"And in the Cultivation World, being unable to Cultivate means never reaching the Peak. Over time, the previously weaker side can surpass the Yao Beasts."

The tragedy of Yao Beasts lies here.

They possess intelligence, know the power of Cultivation, and are aware of the limits of their Bloodline Legacy, yet they cannot Cultivate.

Of course, this applies to most Yao Beasts.

"In fact, there are also Yao Beasts that can Cultivate, but Yao Beasts that can Cultivate are no longer Yao Beasts."

Through Opportunity, or a Bloodline Breakthrough, or by consuming certain Heaven And Earth Treasure.

In short, there are many reasons that can allow a Yao Beast to transform into a Yao Race member.

"From this point of view, everyone should also be able to find that the Yao Race has two characteristics:

"Firstly, all Yao Race members are transformed from Yao Beasts. Although there may be some losses, much of the power from the Yao Beast's Bloodline Legacy can still be inherited, giving them a very high starting point, and typically a very long Lifespan."

"Secondly, the Yao Race is transformed from Yao Beasts, and their reproductive capacity is extremely poor, so the number of Yao Race members is very small."

At this point, Kumu Daoren looked at the camera and smiled:

"So, if players can choose the Yao Race to start, this means that we players can easily become the majority of the Yao Race."

"No matter what the actual leader of the Yao Race thinks, he will have no choice but to rely on us players."

"Undoubtedly, in the Mountain faction, which is the Yao Race faction, the player experience will be completely different from that in the Immortal Dynasty faction."

The audience in the live stream immediately brightened their eyes.

Especially some 'cloud players' who wanted to join the Xuanhuan World as prospective new players, they felt exceptionally excited, wishing they could experience the Yao Race right now.

At this moment, the Host noticed a problem:

"Then if that's really the case."

"Doesn't that mean starting as a Yao Race member is much stronger than starting as a Human Race member?"

"Is this a big problem for game balance?"

Kumu Daoren laughed heartily:

"The Xuanhuan World is basically equivalent to a real world. Do you think a real world considers balance?"

"Some beings are naturally more powerful than others, so who is there to consider balance?"

The live stream audience exchanged glances.

Yes, if the Xuanhuan World is understood as a game.

Then balance indeed needs to be considered between different races.

But if it's understood as a real world, where is the balance?

Compared to the Human Race, the Yao Race has stronger innate talent and a longer Lifespan. Even their social structure can be imagined to be better than the Human Race's, because it will be occupied by players.

In this situation, power-focused players will naturally choose the Yao Race without thinking, leaving only some Veteran Players still clinging to the Human Race.

Is this reasonable?

"I think the Human Race and the Yao Race must each have their strengths."

At this moment, This Time Bu Ge spoke, but he was clearly not too certain: "It's just that our current understanding is insufficient, and we lack information, so we can't determine the Human Race's strengths."

In fact, he was inclined to believe that the Yao Race was completely superior to the Human Race.

The only constraint was numbers.

And after opening the Yao Race to players, the number problem would completely disappear. At that time, the Yao Race would probably truly sweep everything and completely overwhelm the Human Race.

"However, these are all just discussions by 'cloud players'."

"What Season Two will actually be like still depends on the specific situation."

This Time Bu Ge did not voice his thoughts, after all, everyone was a 'cloud player' now.

But no matter what, discussions about the new map and new races continued to spread across the internet.

At the same time, the Xuanhuan World game itself seemed to be warming up for the new season.

Forces in the North-South Mountains gathered one after another, gradually forming alliances.

Meanwhile, within the Four Kingdoms, rapid integration occurred. Heshui Prefecture and Duan Kong Cave both joined the Immortal Dynasty, and numerous forces were incorporated as part of the imperial court.

Many Golden Cores prepared for battle, stockpiling countless strategic supplies.

It was as if a faction war could begin at any moment.

Amidst this tense atmosphere, the time for Season Two finally arrived.
