469: The conference is a major test

Some large Sects often inherit the same Dao Lineage, but have many subdivisions.

For example, although the Qingling Sect is descended from the Shanlan Dao Lineage, it possesses two types of Nascent Soul Method, so it is internally divided into two factions and peaks.

Besides the Nascent Soul Method, after hundreds or thousands of years of inheritance, some Golden Core Method practitioners have, by chance, had a Genius successfully achieve Forming Nascent Soul, and they have actually managed to establish independent peaks. Although they are a bit weaker and cannot replicate Forming Nascent Soul generation after generation, they have ultimately managed to pass down a new technique.

A Sect like the Nine Swords Dao originally had nine Nascent Soul True Lords preaching the Dao together, so there were nine peaks when the Sect was founded. Later, people with stunning talent blazed new paths, adding eight more peaks.

Now, there are a total of seventeen peaks, each corresponding to seventeen types of Nascent Soul Method.

The Giant Fiend Sword is the technique of one of these peaks, and this peak is known as [Giant Fiend Peak].

This is the very peak that Jiang Vengeance joined.

The Elder he befriended and apprenticed under is an Immortal Master Elder of that peak, and one with hopes of Forming Nascent Soul, so Jiang Vengeance's status is quite impressive, giving him the right to represent Giant Fiend Peak in accepting disciples.

The artifact that Divine Craftsmanship triggered at this moment contains the Giant Fiend Sword Legacy. This resonance means that Divine Craftsmanship has the talent to cultivate the Giant Fiend Sword, which also means that Jiang Vengeance can decide whether to accept him as a disciple.

"Junior Brother Jiang, do you want to accept this person as a disciple?" the Senior Brother beside him asked curiously.

Jiang Vengeance pondered for a moment and nodded, saying, "This person is not bad; I intend to accept him."

The Senior Brother then asked, "Are you accepting him as a disciple on behalf of True Person Buyi?"

True Person Buyi is the Elder Master of Jiang Vengeance.

"No, it is just temporarily registered under the name of Giant Fiend Peak. As for which Elder will ultimately accept him as a disciple, it depends on his performance afterward and the individual choices of the Elders."

The Ascension Assembly has not truly begun yet; right now, the various Sects are merely scouting people in advance so that the subsequent trials can be more targeted.

But whether or not they will accept disciples, and which Elder will do so, is all uncertain.

It is even possible that by the end, even the Sect accepting the disciple might change.

To put it nicely, this is called "the universe is not yet settled, and you and I are both dark horses."

To put it bluntly, this is the various Sects picking and choosing, treating the players like goods to be compared.

"Alright, time to look at the next one."

After Jiang Vengeance set a nominal registration for Divine Craftsmanship, he stopped paying attention and turned to look at the players who had triggered the Nine Swords Dao trial afterward.

For a player like him who seized the Opportunity to infiltrate the Eastern Domain Sects early, his status and position were already completely different.

This superior and detached mindset made Jiang Vengeance feel somewhat carried away.

Meanwhile, in the trial room, Divine Craftsmanship was sweating profusely.

He had only touched a miniature model of a great sword on the shelf, and suddenly he saw a wondrous sight:

On a grim battlefield, a person holding a great sword, covered in blood, suddenly leapt up, fiercely smashed the sword down, and instantly tore the entire earth in two.

Violent aura, surging fighting spirit, rugged techniques...

Almost in an instant, Divine Craftsmanship was moved.

This was the Legacy he was looking for!

He loved this kind of wild combat Legacy that was bold, unconstrained, and full of power.

But...

Although he saw the scene representing the Legacy, seemingly resonating with the Concept left behind by some powerful Senior.

He had not directly comprehended any Cultivation Technique.

Divine Craftsmanship immediately became nervous, fearing that his Comprehension Ability was insufficient and that he had no connection to this Legacy.

'The examiner behind the scenes wouldn't just eliminate me directly, would they?'

Thinking of this, he felt his legs go weak.

Just as he was so nervous he was about to suffocate, the scene before his eyes changed once again.

The shelves bearing various artifacts turned into thousands of tiny specks of light and disappeared; the brick path under his feet also turned into shattered starlight, and then the walls, ceiling, and so on followed suit and vanished.

In their place were off-white walls at a greater distance, stacked in an arc shape, which, combined with the twinkling little stars hanging from the ceiling, transformed this place into a huge circular hall.

Divine Craftsmanship stood there, stunned, and only then did he notice that, without him realizing it, steps had appeared one after another, filling the entire circular hall, and quite a few people were currently sitting on the various steps.

He looked carefully; there were not many people, but not few either, about a hundred or so. Judging by their appearance and clothing, they were all players, each one weirder than the last.

The space was large, and everyone was sitting in scattered positions; it seemed they did not view the steps as any kind of Rank distinction.

"Passed?"

Divine Craftsmanship muttered, "Or was I eliminated?"

Divine Craftsmanship was confused and sought out the nearest player to ask.

But the other person was also clueless and just shook his head, saying:

"I don't know what's going on. I originally entered a room, then touched a Concept, and after leaving the Concept, I came directly here."

Another player said:

"It's not time for the Ascension Assembly yet; I think they must be letting us wait here. I just don't know what that path we walked earlier counts as? If it was a trial, I don't know how many points I got."

As soon as he mentioned points, a player immediately laughed:

"Damn, playing a game, and it inexplicably turned into an exam. You have to admit, this exam hall with no examiner and no test questions is scarier than our exams in China."

Another player said, "It's a good thing we are players; even if we die, we can respawn. I suspect that if a native came to participate in the trial, they would probably just die if they failed. Tsk tsk, this kind of exam is truly terrifying..."

Divine Craftsmanship also sighed, "But if you pass the exam, you enter a large Sect directly, and your Dao path is instantly worry-free..."

It must be said that the big pie the Ascension Assembly painted for the players was even larger than that of Sects like Duan Kong Cave in the past.

Likewise, the pressure it exerted on the players was far superior to that of Sects like Duan Kong Cave and Heshui Prefecture.

Before the Assembly was held, they deliberately made the players kill each other, specifically made these arriving players experience a trial without test questions, and finally locked them in a closed space to wait for the Assembly to begin.

The processes carefully designed by the many Sects were indeed effective; they fiercely suppressed the players' arrogance, making even the most lawless and unscrupulous players feel nervous when they arrived at this waiting room, for fear that after experiencing so much, it would all be for nothing.

And it is foreseeable that when the Ascension Assembly officially begins, the trials the players will face will only be more difficult, and people will continue to be eliminated.

This nervousness and worry about future trials made all the players present feel a sense of shared anxiety; after chatting simply for a while, they actually all fell silent, unwilling to say more.

They were afraid that saying too much would expose their strength and trump cards, causing additional complications in the subsequent trials.

Divine Craftsmanship had originally intended to post on the Forum about what happened after entering the city, but after thinking about it and hesitating repeatedly, he ultimately didn't post anything.

He found a high seat, sat down, and scanned the area; for some reason, a thought suddenly sprouted in his mind:

"It would be better if there were fewer people here..."
