410: Should we bring Yan Xiao to the North?
In the North, the Yuyao Kingdom.
After the new version update, the entire Xuanhuan World map opened up, allowing players to explore in all directions.
However, due to terrain and power distribution, the Yuyao Kingdom in the North was the first external force outside the novice area that players officially encountered.
It was also the first known major power outside the Immortal Dynasty to possess fourth-rank combat strength.
Therefore, unlike exploring the Eastern Sea or crossing the Great Desert, when the Yuyao Kingdom appeared, there was no need for players to organize. Exploration players, represented by Wan Lin, almost immediately headed towards the Yuyao Kingdom.
Later, these players gradually diverged. Most players remained in the Yuyao Kingdom, while a small number, like Wan Lin, managed to gain the trust of the Yao Race outside the wall, thus allowing them to go to Sacred Emperor Mountain.
Another small portion consisted of Yao Race players, and their situations were different.
Before the Yuyao Kingdom appeared, there were three top players among the Yao Race players, all outstanding among the fifth-rank, named: Joseph, Ma Dun, and Looking Up at the Stars Faction.
They operated in the Northern Mountains, once usurping the nests and almost replacing the native Yao Race.
Many Western Country players, and even some Chinese players ostracized by mainstream forces, joined them, leading to a temporary flourishing player organization in the Northern Mountains.
However, with the appearance of the Yuyao Kingdom, the Yao Race were horrified to discover that their cultivation methods were problematic, and they were controlled one by one.
The Looking Up at the Stars Faction immediately fled south, joining the Immortal Dynasty and becoming a laborer for the state-stabilizing seal.
Joseph borrowed a path through the Great Desert and headed to the Southern Mountains. Later, a conflict erupted with the Youming Demon Sect, almost all of her companions were annihilated, and she herself restarted once, carefully lurking in the Southern Mountains.
These two almost fell from the top tier of players, no longer possessing the ability to control the situation.
The third one was Ma Dun.
Because his cultivation method was different from that of the Northern Mountains, he was not controlled by the Yuyao Kingdom and resisted when the Yuyao Kingdom army marched south.
He once wanted to unite with the Qingling Sect to resist together, but was killed by True Lord Feng Chuan and retreated in disarray back into the Immortal Dynasty territory.
Later, he cooperated with Li Changfeng in the Novice Mountain Valley, jointly obtaining the flesh and blood of the Cloud-Swallowing Whale.
At that time, most players were fooled by Li Changfeng and only received fifth-rank or even worse whale meat.
However, Ma Dun, as a fifth-rank Great Yao, was naturally sensitive to meat quality, so he was not fooled by Li Changfeng. Instead, he genuinely obtained some fourth-rank whale meat.
Although not much, with the exquisite technique of Daoist Kumu and his Innate advantage as a Yao Race in devouring, his cultivation was able to advance further. His Demon Body was refined to almost cover the sky and sun, and its strength could contend with a fourth-grade magic treasure.
After his strength increased, Ma Dun once again burst with ambition, forcefully returning to the Northern Mountains, and then... was killed and restarted again.
Although he earned many state-stabilizing seal leaderboard points by killing Great Yao and also received some rewards.
The transaction points consumed, however, truly made his heart ache.
A few more times, he felt that he might not be able to sustain the resurrection cost and would have to completely restart, abandoning his cultivation.
Ma Dun reflected on his pain and began to introspect.
The Yuyao Kingdom was powerful and invincible. As a Yao Race, he could not receive the same courtesy as other Human Race players.
Similarly, as a Yao Race, he could not easily go outside the wall like other Human Race players. The Yuyao Kingdom was extremely wary of him, and he could not contact the Yao Race outside the wall at all.
It seemed he could only retreat, completely leave the Northern Mountains, the Dragon Rise Land of the Yao Race players, and thenceforth submit to the rule of the state-stabilizing seal?
Or go to the Great Desert, the Southern Mountains, and lie dormant for thousands of years, never to return to his homeland?
Ma Dun was unwilling. He still lingered in the Northern Mountains, trying to find an Opportunity to expel the Yuyao Kingdom and once again become king in the Northern Mountains.
Just then, an accidental Opportunity led him to discover Old Potato, and subsequently learned of his plan to find beast fire.
"Old Potato, you said that cultivating exotic fire requires beast fire?"
"Exactly... I hope you can keep this a secret."
Old Potato sighed helplessly. Because Ma Dun was currently powerful and not inferior to him, he did not want to offend him. Instead, he wanted to befriend him, which was why he revealed his plan.
He also thought about whether he could win over a fifth-rank Great Yao as a teammate to facilitate his actions in the Northern Mountains.
"Then... does Yan Xiao need beast fire?"
Ma Dun's eyes gleamed: "He also collected exotic fire before, right? He must always need to collect beast fire, right? Can we get him to come to the Northern Mountains, to the Yuyao Kingdom?"
Old Potato was stunned. This was truly an unforeseen path.
The Yuyao Kingdom had a vast territory, with even the enslaved Great Yao being of fourth-rank. Many of the thrones were definitely fourth-rank or even higher.
How many Opportunities, how many Treasures, how many Legacies were hidden within, it was truly tempting and greedy.
But that greed could only exist in their minds.
Countless players went to the Yuyao Kingdom one after another. Although they received courtesy, they could only accept the Legacies opened by the Yuyao Kingdom and could not truly search for Treasures within the country.
The Yuyao Kingdom was too powerful, and its rule was too stable.
Even the Yao Race outside the wall did not think of overthrowing the Yuyao Kingdom. Their revealed plans were more about currying favor and befriending players, then moving their entire race into the Immortal Dynasty territory to seek refuge.
So, what would happen if Yan Xiao, the Son of Luck, suddenly came here?
Just thinking about it was exciting.
However, Old Potato was very cautious now and unwilling to cause extra trouble. He only said:
"I'm just here to find beast fire. Yan Xiao has already gone west, I can't manage that matter."
Old Potato did not join forces with Ma Dun and went north alone.
Only Ma Dun was left to ponder, and the more he thought about it, the more feasible he found the matter to be.
The various myths spread by Yan Xiao during his westward journey astonished players and made Ma Dun yearn even more.
"To reclaim the Northern Mountains, or even completely defeat the Yuyao Kingdom, or simply to seize the wealth of the Yuyao Kingdom, none of these are things that current players can achieve.
"The state-stabilizing seal is not up to the task, Feng Chuan is indecisive, and the Youming Demon Sect is timid. To turn the tide, we must rely on the Son of Luck!
"Just wait, Yan Xiao, I'm coming to find you now!"
Ma Dun immediately flew west at high speed, wanting to intercept Yan Xiao before he left Yanwang Prefecture and bring him to the Northern Mountains and even the Yuyao Kingdom... Old Potato traveled north and then discovered that the situation in the North had changed significantly again.
Firstly, the Northern Mountains, originally a gathering place for the Yao Race, later saw the Yuyao Kingdom move south, and the Yao Race was shattered.
Next, players moved north, engaging in a chaotic battle.
As the state-stabilizing seal built a high wall in the southern Northern Mountains and set up defensive Formations, the warfare gradually ceased.
The Yuyao Kingdom's southward expansion stopped, and the Northern Mountains gradually became a buffer zone.
During this period, True Lord Feng Chuan's reckless act of blocking the resurrection point angered players, leading to the Qingling Sect being frantically harassed. They had to activate a grand Formation to seclude themselves, unable to change the situation in the Northern Mountains.
And the Yuyao Kingdom treated Human Race players with courtesy, which ironically led the Northern Mountains into a state of peace (only for Human Race players).
Old Potato searched for Yao Beasts with beast fire in this peaceful state.
