339: The demon clan changes

The territory of the Immortal Dynasty covered the former Great Jiang Imperial Dynasty, Li Kingdom, Yue Country, Chu Country, and the eastern part of the Western Great Desert.

To the east was a sea area with many Spirit Beasts and Yao Beasts. It was said that there were also many Secret Realms and resources on the islands, but few people ventured there to explore.

This was because, in the depths of the sea, there was rumored to be a terrifying Yao Race Immortal Dynasty, possibly even powerful Rank Three Dragons.

Of course, after the players arrived, more and more fearless individuals dared to go to the East Sea.

To the south were mountains dense with miasma and ancient Formations.

To the north were mountains with countless Secret Realms and an endless Bloodline of the Yao Race.

These two areas were collectively known as the North-South Mountains.

Before the state-stabilizing seal achieved Nascent Soul and established the Immortal Dynasty, for the Cultivators of the Four Kingdoms, the North-South Mountains were absolutely forbidden, as the Yao Race within were too fierce and powerful, and one could encounter a Rank Four Expert at any time.

But after the Immortal Dynasty was established, the state-stabilizing seal's first external battle was against the North-South Mountains. He gathered Golden Core Experts and a group of Cultivators to launch a strong offensive, once suppressing the Yao Race to the point where they couldn't breathe.

Although the Yao Race counterattacked for a time due to the Great Jiang Treasure Vault, the Immortal Dynasty ultimately pushed the front line back to the mountain's edge with its absolute advantage.

Wan Lin had not personally experienced these events, so his feelings were not as deep as those of the Veteran Players.

He learned about these matters from posts and videos, especially the content summarized by This Time Bu Ge.

However, This Time Bu Ge's recent news updates had slowed considerably, and many pieces of information were even second-hand compilations. Everyone speculated that he had likely chosen to settle on Earth rather than come to the Prison Land.

This caused This Time Bu Ge's popularity to continuously decline, and also led to the rise of more video creators focusing on guides and intelligence.

Thus, the sources of intelligence among players entered an era of blooming diversity, but from another perspective, it meant a mix of good and bad.

So Wan Lin checked a bunch of posts and videos, but in the end, he still didn't know what dangers the North-South Mountains held, nor was he sure to what extent the Western Country players who had previously descended upon the North Mountain had developed.

Most critically, he couldn't even confirm whether players could still actively choose to start in the North Mountain after the version update, or whether he would face PVE or PVP on this journey.

However, Wan Lin thought, since he had more than one life, even if he died exploring, he could just restart and come back. There was nothing to be afraid of.

With this fearless mindset, Wan Lin continued northward.

Not long after, he saw Yao Beasts frantically rushing south, with some of the Yao Race mixed among them.

Huge flying birds blotted out the sky, ground-shaking giant elephants let out panicked cries, and a massive snake, hundreds of miles long, had its tail severed, bleeding for miles.

The changes happened too quickly, and the momentum was too grand, instantly leaving Wan Lin, a new player, completely bewildered.

He tried his best to leap onto a high mountain peak, climbed to the top of a large tree, and gazed northward. His eyes quickly widened, and an expression of surprise appeared on his face.

He had initially thought it was an internal conflict within the Yao Race, a powerful faction chasing another.

Or perhaps some natural disaster had occurred, forcing the Yao Race and Yao Beasts to flee south.

But the reality shocked him:

Only a tiny figure could be seen in the north, riding a Xuan Bird, flying southward at a leisurely pace.

He was dressed in luxurious noble attire, adorned with jewels, but his face was clean, and his movements were upright, possessing an ethereal and elegant aura, appearing quite peculiar.

At Wan Lin's current Realm, he had no Spiritual Sense and couldn't perceive anything, so he could only rely on sight and hearing.

He could only hear the terrified cries of the Yao Beasts and the Yao Race, as well as the continuous flapping of the Xuan Bird's wings as it flew southward.

Most importantly, whenever the Xuan Bird flew a certain distance south, the nearest Yao Beasts would suddenly stop, then prostrate themselves as if soul-less, bowing to the man on the Xuan Bird.

As if surrendering.

Soon, Wan Lin saw a great Yao of the Demon Body Realm make a move.

It was a bear Yao, hundreds of meters tall, wearing black refined armor. He directly lifted a large mountain, refined it into a massive hammer in a few movements, and fiercely smashed it towards the Xuan Bird.

The Xuan Bird did not dodge, and the noble man merely sneered.

Wan Lin didn't know what happened; he only saw the bear Yao suddenly stop, then kneel on one knee, like a subject saluting a king.

“What's going on?”

Wan Lin's mind buzzed; he felt the situation was developing strangely.

A Demon Body was Rank Five. To instantly subdue a Rank Five Expert, wasn't the newcomer at least Rank Four?

Wouldn't that mean he could completely shatter the entire Immortal Dynasty? Perhaps even the state-stabilizing seal couldn't stop him?

A moment of surprise flashed, followed by delight:

“This is major intelligence!”

Wan Lin quickly submitted this intelligence.

He wasn't the first to submit the intelligence about the Yao Race fleeing south, so he couldn't get full points.

But the intelligence that a Demon Body great Yao was instantly subdued, he was the first to discover and submit.

Just relying on this one piece of intelligence, he instantly climbed the rankings, shooting up to the top spot!

Ding!

Congratulations on becoming the number one in the rankings!

Please return to Great River City to claim your reward!

“Holy crap!”

Seeing this leap in rank and the generous rewards, Wan Lin was dumbfounded.

This was simply a windfall!

At this moment, the Xuan Bird had already flown over, and all the Yao Beasts and the Yao Race in its path submitted.

The man on the Xuan Bird suddenly glanced at Wan Lin but did nothing to him, simply passing by.

Wan Lin felt his heart pounding. He wanted to return to Great River City immediately to claim his reward.

But then he thought, since he had no cultivation in this life anyway, he might as well continue deeper to gather more intelligence to stabilize his ranking position.

What if he was still number one when the settlement happened a year later?

What kind of rewards would there be then?

Wan Lin climbed down from the tree, traversed the mountain path, and continued northward.

Soon, he actually ran into a Yao Beast!

It was a wolf Yao, very ferocious-looking, with blood still on its mouth, likely having just finished a battle, exuding heavy Evil Qi.

Wan Lin instinctively wanted to run, but then he discovered that the wolf Yao actually bowed to him, respectfully yielding the path.

What's going on?

Wan Lin found it bizarre, but thinking of the exploration rewards, he immediately put aside all suspicions and continued northward... In the sky, the state-stabilizing seal gazed northward.

He looked at the fleeing Yao Beasts and Yao Race, and the Xuan Bird, which moved as if in an uninhabited land.

His expression was very gloomy.

“The legendary Demon Taming Country, has it really endured for ten thousand years, existing even today?

“It seems that the Yao Beasts and the Yao Race of the North Mountain were originally livestock raised by the Demon Taming Country, with methods left behind for generations...

“How pathetic...”
