249: Go to the front line as cannon fodder

Da Quan Knight finally found the Yao Race's main city.

The architectural style of the Yao Race's main city was indeed vastly different from Human Race cities.

In fact, the styles of different Yao Race main cities would be completely distinct.

This was mainly because the city lord of a Yao Race main city, who was also the strongest Great Yao in the area, would typically decide the city's blueprint based on his Yao Beast form and construct buildings suitable for himself and his own race.

Different Yao Beasts had different body sizes, ultimately leading to the varied styles of each Yao Race city.

For example, the city Da Quan Knight currently found had a Sheep Demon as its city lord, so the buildings were relatively low and narrow, yet they appeared long, and the streets stretched endlessly.

At this moment, there were many Yao Race players in this Snake City, all of various forms, queuing up.

Da Quan Knight didn't know what they were queuing for, so he joined the line and casually asked a Tiger Demon in front of him:

"What are you all queuing for?"

"I don't know. I saw everyone else queuing, so I did too."

Da Quan Knight was speechless.

He asked many more people and finally managed to figure out the situation.

It turned out that with the constant arrival of Extraterrestrial Demons, the native Yao Race had opened up Cultivation Technique Legacies, using cities to teach players basic Cultivation methods.

Of course, they only provided Cultivation methods.

There were no resources; everything had to be plundered by the players themselves.

Da Quan Knight queued for a while and received a black stone, a common item used by the Yao Race for transmitting Legacies.

Upon crushing it, a complete Cultivation Technique flooded his mind, quickly allowing him to receive the Legacy.

"Yao Saint Body Tempering Method"

"Fifth Rank"

"It is said to have been created by a powerful Yao Race being, passed down to all under heaven, becoming the initial wondrous method for all Yao Race to Cultivate."

A Fifth Rank method!

Da Quan Knight felt it was somewhat unbelievable.

He had previously been a 'cloud player,' having watched many videos and posts.

Naturally, he knew that Cultivation Techniques started from Ninth Rank, and the smaller the number, the more powerful it was.

At the same time, different Cultivation Techniques could correspond to different Ranks.

A Fifth Rank Cultivation Technique was what everyone commonly referred to as a Golden Core Method.

Among the Human Race, this item was incredibly precious; even if one joined a Golden Core Sect like Heshui Prefecture or Duan Kong Cave, it was usually difficult to obtain.

One would have to make significant contributions or display extremely high talent to be valued and taught the Golden Core Method.

Yet, among the Yao Race, it was actually given as a Newbie Village gift package?

"This Yao Race... it really seems different from the Human Race, doesn't it?"

Da Quan Knight was somewhat startled.

Soon, the Bear Demon responsible for distributing the Legacies urged him to quickly begin his Cultivation and achieve the Qi Refining Realm.

Through the Legacy, Da Quan Knight learned that the Yao Race's Cultivation methods were similar to immortal Cultivation.

Both started with Qi Refining, then Foundation Establishment, but afterward, instead of forming a Golden Core, it was about transforming into a Demon Body, thoroughly activating one's Bloodline, and supplementing it with powerful Cultivation Techniques to form a new Yao Beast body.

After the Demon Body Realm, the subsequent Realms were again similar to Human Race immortal Cultivation.

And the huge Eagle Demon and Dog Demon that Da Quan Knight had seen earlier were all powerhouses in the Demon Body Realm, important combat forces of the Yao Race.

"So, if I keep Cultivating and achieve the Demon Body Realm, I too can become a giant Dog Demon that shakes the earth?"

As soon as he thought of the future prospect, Da Quan Knight became excited.

He quickly found an Immortal Cave in Snake City for secluded Cultivation, consuming Lifespan to Cultivate.

The Yao Race's Lifespan was much longer than the Human Race's; even at the Mortal Realm, they had a full five hundred years of Lifespan.

Da Quan Knight immediately consumed enough, and ten years passed in an instant, directly allowing him to achieve Qi Refining.

"Wait, something seems wrong."

Suddenly, Da Quan Knight noticed something amiss:

"I consumed ten years of Lifespan, yet I've only barely reached Qi Refining?

"And I'm even using a Golden Core Method!"

Not only Da Quan Knight but also the audience in the live stream discovered the problem.

The Yao Race indeed had a longer Lifespan, but it seemed their Cultivation talent... was a bit poor?

"I saw that the Human Race needs Spiritual Roots for immortal Cultivation, and Spiritual Roots determine talent. What Spiritual Root do you have, streamer?"

"The streamer is Yao Race, he doesn't have any Spiritual Root."

"Then how is the Yao Race's Cultivation talent determined?"

"I checked, and it seems that Human Race Cultivation talent isn't solely determined by Spiritual Roots; different people have different Physiques, and even the Soul has some influence."

"And for the Yao Race, it seems to be related to the racial Bloodline."

"The streamer chose an ordinary Dog Demon, which has no talent for Cultivation whatsoever; it's entirely about making up for deficiencies through diligence."

Da Quan Knight was a bit bewildered; so there was such a saying about Cultivation?

And he quickly discovered a problem:

"Hold on, if among the Human Race, different people of the same race have different talents.

"Then among the Yao Race, different races have different talents.

"Doesn't that mean, what appears to be one race, is actually..."

He hadn't finished speaking.

The secluded Immortal Cave was opened.

A Yao responsible for Snake City, wearing armor, holding a long spear and a scroll, found Da Quan Knight.

This was a Sheep Demon, very agile, flicking its tongue.

It looked at Da Quan Knight and asked, "Are you in the Qi Refining Realm?"

Da Quan Knight nodded, "I've already reached Qi Refining."

"How much Lifespan did you consume?"

"Ten years."

The Sheep Demon nodded, took out a brush, and recorded it on the scroll.

Then it looked at Da Quan Knight and said:

"It seems you are of the lowest-tier race, so Snake City will not grant you any special treatment from now on.

"At the same time, you will be enlisted into my Beishan Yao Race's Sacred Army, and from today, you will proceed to the southern front lines to battle Human Race Cultivators."

Da Quan Knight was dumbfounded: "But I'm only at Qi Refining!"

The Sheep Demon chuckled, "Qi Refining is enough. If you want to Breakthrough now, you'll have to go to the front lines yourself to compete for resources and seek Opportunities. All the resources on every Human Race Cultivator you kill will be yours."

Da Quan Knight panicked: "Wait, isn't there any other Newbie Village tutorial? Even a Newbie Village for me to practice would be good!"

The Sheep Demon snorted coldly, clearly having no intention of saying more to him.

So very quickly, Da Quan Knight was directly thrown into the army and headed south with a group of Qi Refining Yao Race.

They first arrived at a large city in the south via a teleportation array, then everyone boarded the back of a giant four-legged Yao Beast and slowly continued south.

Da Quan Knight looked at the giant four-legged Yao Beast, feeling slightly at ease.

But just as they approached the front line, a Flying Sword suddenly flew over rapidly, instantly severing the head of the four-legged Yao Beast.

Da Quan Knight and the other Yao Race fell down, and then someone shouted, "Run!"

This batch of newcomers instantly scattered.

By the time Da Quan Knight recovered from his daze and regained his composure, he was already in a valley, with a Sheep Demon and a Cat Demon beside him.

"Oh no, I seem to be lost."

Fighting on the front lines, getting separated from the main force, was simply fatal.

Da Quan Knight began to panic.
