349: The Three Nascent Soul Techniques of the Five Elements Daoist Tradition
“The first, and most common, method is to choose one of the Five Virtues—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, or Earth—and cultivate it to the Peak.
“However, while you choose one, it absolutely does not mean cultivating only one Natal Divine Ability. In fact, all Nascent Soul methods must have at least five Natal Divine Abilities to have a ten percent chance of forming a Nascent Soul.”
Li Changfeng was stunned by these words: “Five Natal Divine Abilities? And only a ten percent chance?”
The state-stabilizing seal sneered: “What kind of person do you think a Nascent Soul is? I know you look down on me, thinking I’m just an old geezer who can be killed at any time for loot, but I tell you, even with the mist dissipated and outside forces invading, I will still be a figure standing at the Peak.”
That confidence and composure indeed did not seem feigned.
The Nascent Soul Realm ranks fourth-grade. Setting aside the unimaginably powerful supreme Cultivators, there are only three major Realms above it. He certainly had the confidence to be proud.
The state-stabilizing seal continued:
“What is meant by ‘choosing one’ is that you must gather as many Divine Abilities of the same Five Virtues as possible, forming a complete set within that single Five Virtue.
“For example, an ancient Dao Lineage I know of requires five out of six types of Metal Virtue—Metal in the Sea, Sword Edge Metal, White Wax Metal, Sand Metal, Gold Foil Metal, and Hairpin Metal—to be completed before one can attempt to form a Nascent Soul. The other four Virtues follow the same principle, always six taking five, leaving one.
“But this is just one Dao Lineage. Other different Dao Lineages also have different choices, corresponding to different Immortal Foundations and Natal Divine Abilities.”
Even Li Changfeng, slow as he was, caught on to the problem here:
“Why do you link Immortal Foundation with Natal Divine Ability? These examples you gave, like Sword Edge Metal, I feel like I’ve heard them somewhere before? It seems like a certain Immortal Foundation?”
The state-stabilizing seal nodded:
“Correct. For other Dao Lineages, they don't need Immortal Foundation; Divine Ability is just Divine Ability, with no corresponding relationship.
“But for the Immortal Foundation Golden Core Dao, which is the Five Elements Dao Lineage, Immortal Foundation and Natal Divine Ability have a complete corresponding relationship.
“If you wish to achieve Nascent Soul, you will definitely experience the process of lifting the Immortal Foundation to form a Golden Core, and then re-condensing the True Intent of the Immortal Foundation within the Golden Core into a Natal Divine Ability. This is your fundamental basis, and the most fundamental Foundation of a Five Elements Dao Lineage Cultivator.
“All subsequent Natal Divine Abilities you cultivate must also be compatible with it, and even the method you use to attempt to form a Nascent Soul is related to this first Natal Divine Ability and Immortal Foundation.”
At this point, the state-stabilizing seal laughed again: “Therefore, those players who arbitrarily choose Immortal Foundations for short-term progress are, in my opinion, mediocre. They are cutting off their own Dao path.”
Li Changfeng was somewhat shocked. He knew the Immortal Foundation was important, but he never expected it to be so crucial, where a seventh-grade Immortal Foundation Realm directly determined a fourth-grade Nascent Soul Breakthrough.
With such a vast Realm gap, such a long span of time, how many people could suppress their impulses and consider the Nascent Soul during Foundation Establishment?
The state-stabilizing seal continued:
“Let’s continue discussing the Nascent Soul method.
“The second type: mutual generation.
“There is no need to insist on a single Five Virtue. Instead, one seeks mutual generation, using two Five Virtues to complement each other, with three as primary and two as secondary, still accumulating five Divine Abilities to achieve a Breakthrough.
“Because the mutual generation relationship between different Divine Abilities is not simple, often requiring continuous adjustment and even self-correction of Divine Ability power, this method is actually more difficult than the previous one, and only a Prodigy can use it.”
The state-stabilizing seal paused.
Li Changfeng noticed that the sneering smile was gone from his face, as was the condescending lecturing posture.
Instead, a hint of awe appeared.
“The third type: all five methods complete.
“Taking one from each of the Five Virtues—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—with all five methods complete, one has the strongest combat power during the Golden Core stage and the greatest hope of breaking through to Nascent Soul.
“But at the same time, this is extremely difficult.
“Those who can achieve this will be respectfully addressed as ‘Great Immortal Master’.”
After speaking, the state-stabilizing seal then said, as if telling a joke:
“It’s interesting that many Loose Cultivator Dao Lineages are incomplete and often mistakenly cultivate Natal Divine Abilities. By the time they realize it, they find they have no other choice but to pursue the path of all five methods complete.
“But how difficult is this path? If one aims for the Great Immortal Master of all five methods complete during Foundation Establishment, having already chosen the Immortal Foundation to cultivate and set the sequence of subsequent Divine Abilities, there is still some faint hope.
“However, merely switching cultivation midway, thinking it’s a lifeline, is nothing but asking for trouble, ultimately leading to chaotic Divine Abilities, disintegration, and death.”
Li Changfeng felt as if a grand Dao leading to the Nascent Soul was unfolding before him, and the path ahead suddenly became much brighter.
He couldn't help but say: “So, the grade of a single Divine Ability isn't important; what's important is the relationship between the five Divine Abilities?”
The state-stabilizing seal nodded: “Precisely.”
Li Changfeng asked: “Then are you going to give me five Natal Divine Abilities?”
The state-stabilizing seal chuckled: “Are you still asleep? I have already told you the Nascent Soul formation method of the Five Elements Dao Lineage. Whether you can succeed later depends on your personal Opportunity.”
Li Changfeng took a deep breath, and, mimicking the native Cultivators, respectfully bowed: “Thank you, Senior, for your guidance. I will post on the forum and call on everyone to integrate into the Immortal Dynasty System.”
Li Changfeng was about to leave, but the state-stabilizing seal was still blocking his way.
“Listen, I know you still don’t trust me. None of you so-called hardcore players, top players, trust me.”
The state-stabilizing seal was expressionless: “But you should have realized.
“The mist has dispersed, and the outside world has opened up.
“I used to be able to cover the sky with one hand, even creating Puppets to set traps for you players.
“But now, I don’t know what lies beyond the mist, and I’m not sure if the powerful Cultivators of the Immortal Realm will return to this place.
“I can no longer control everything.”
Li Changfeng was startled; he wasn't sure what the state-stabilizing seal wanted to say.
“That kid Ye Chun should have discovered it earlier. The current me has lost the power to plan and design everything. There will be forces outside that can contend with me, and I cannot act recklessly.
“So you will witness true joys and sorrows, not the fake emotions I designed.
“You will find genuine Secret Realm Opportunities, not just the quest rewards I arranged.
“Coupled with the various player privileges you already possess, it’s impossible for me to completely control you.
“Therefore, I hope to cooperate with you players, to become part of your faction, rather than being your enemy.”
Upon hearing this, Li Changfeng understood.
He nodded and said: “Although we players act recklessly, if you maintain a friendly demeanor and let players recognize you as an ally, I don’t think many people will want to move against you.”
The state-stabilizing seal was noncommittal, only adding a final remark just before Li Changfeng was about to leave:
“Heshui Prefecture inherits the Kongming Dao Lineage. Their most important cave heaven has yet to fall, and their Dao Lineage is incomplete.
“Duan Kong Cave has never produced a Nascent Soul, and in recent years, they have turned to the Evil Path, so there’s no need to pay attention to them.
“Only Qingling Sect, they should have at least one complete Nascent Soul Dao Lineage, which is worth noting.”
Li Changfeng quickly expressed his thanks: “Thank you, Senior, for the reminder.”
He was already planning a trip to Qingling Sect, and now it seemed the importance of this Qingling Sect had increased.
