500: Luo Family Martial Arts Hall

On this day, Luo Daonan arrived at the training grounds as usual.

The Stone City Luo Family was a thriving and large Family; there was more than one young master, and occasionally, children from the branch families would come to the training grounds to hone their fist and foot techniques.

Consequently, the training grounds were built quite grandly, with open terrain. The entrance was constructed from precious White Marble carved into dragons, phoenixes, and lions, and the ground was neatly paved with forest-black Basalt.

The people of the Luo Family did not call this the training grounds; instead, they called it the "Martial Arts Hall."

To fully integrate into the native society, Luo Daonan also changed his naming habits, no longer calling it the training grounds and instead referring to it as the Martial Arts Hall.

However, in his eyes, this place did not serve the purpose of martial arts practice at all.

Because at this moment, dozens of Luo Family Disciples were practicing their punches under the guidance of a Drillmaster. It looked organized, as if they were truly practicing martial arts and cultivation.

But in reality, they were merely venting their youthful physical energy, releasing their boiling blood as much as possible so it wouldn't compress into illness or even become a calamity.

For some Luo Family Disciples with abundant blood and energy, practicing punches under the Drillmaster was not enough to vent; they also needed the help of a Live Target.

At this moment, Live Targets were being brought up by the Servants.

Luo Daonan was also in the group, but he was not a Live Target; he was a Household retainer Servant with a slightly higher status. Thus, he could pull the iron chains and deliver the Live Targets, who were firmly bound by handcuffs and leg irons, one by one onto the forest-black platform.

A Luo Family Disciple who had long been impatient rubbed his fists, spat on the empty ground, and with a fierce look in his eyes, strode toward one of the Live Targets.

He landed a left hook on the Live Target's face, followed by a straight right to the stomach, instantly making the Live Target turn pale and spit out a mouthful of fresh blood.

“Haha!”

This Luo Family Disciple laughed hideously, greatly enjoying the pleasure brought by violence. He threw two more punches in succession, knocking the Live Target straight to the ground.

He was about to continue forward when the Household retainer next to Luo Daonan hurriedly jumped out to stop him, saying:

“Young Master, this Live Target hasn't put on his Leather Armor yet. I'm afraid he won't last more than a few hits. Please let me put it on him!”

But that Luo Family Disciple ignored him completely. Instead, he grabbed the Household retainer and smashed a fierce punch directly into his stomach.

The Household retainer cried out in pain, was sent flying on the spot, and lay on the ground struggling.

Seeing this scene, Luo Daonan's eyelids twitched, and he sighed deeply in his heart.

A Household retainer's status seemed higher than a Live Target's, but in the eyes of the Luo Family Disciples, they were both the same.

The Stone City Luo Family was not like a player Sect, nor was it even like a native Sect; there weren't many rules or principles.

Here, status and position were everything; it could almost be described as the most backward form of slavery.

Household retainers and Servants like them were low-class slaves whom the masters could beat or kill at will, with almost no repercussions.

What made Luo Daonan most emotional was that if these Luo Family Disciples were truly focused on martial arts cultivation to become stronger,

then perhaps they wouldn't treat the Household retainers so maliciously, as it would waste time and be detrimental to establishing a Dao Heart.

However, these Luo Family Disciples had no possibility of upward mobility; they couldn't even step onto the path of cultivation and could only practice martial arts.

But in this world, even reaching the peak of martial arts was no match for a Cultivator's casual sword strike.

Therefore, these people of the Luo Family were merely using violence to vent; not a single one of them was sincerely practicing martial arts.

‘The Looking Up at the Stars Faction is only investigating the periphery after all; they don't know the internal situation of these families. Their plan is too problematic.’

Players often greatly overestimated the natives, thinking that vassal families would at least have the ability to steadily send Family members to the main Sect for cultivation, and that even Servants and Household retainers might be promoted because of it.

They were completely wrong.

Players with the transaction points System were Extraterrestrial Demons in the eyes of the natives. Even the cheapest talent Golden Finger could give a player the qualification to step onto the cultivation path.

But most natives did not have it—they absolutely did not have it.

It wasn't just that they lacked the Spiritual Roots required for the Immortal Foundation Golden Core Path System; they didn't even have basic Physique or Comprehension Ability. There were plenty of people who studied introductory Cultivation Techniques for twenty years and achieved nothing.

In the entire Stone City Luo Family over these several decades, only one person had actually possessed cultivation talent and was sent to the Green Feather Sect to cultivate.

Everyone else was just waiting to die within the Family, yet they were unwilling to admit their incompetence, so they came to this Martial Arts Hall every day to vent by practicing punches.

After understanding this, Luo Daonan sighed inwardly. Trying to enter the Green Feather Sect through the Stone City Luo Family to subsequently contact Hei Da Luan of the Nine Swords Dao was simply too difficult.

“Alright! Everyone stop!”

At this moment, the Luo Family's Drillmaster spoke up, stopping the Luo Family Disciples from their wanton beating of the Household retainers and Live Targets.

“Don't look down on practicing punches. Even if you ultimately can't defeat those Cultivators, for ordinary people, these are still solid killing techniques.

“And killing techniques aren't just for show; you can't just practice them casually. You need to understand actual combat skills, become thoroughly familiar with human weaknesses, and even identify every bone and every inch of the Meridians!

“So next, everyone pick your own Live Target and practice well. Strive to master killing techniques as soon as possible!”

At the Drillmaster's command, the Luo Family Disciples began picking their Live Targets.

This time, it wasn't pure venting, but boxing with technique. Consequently, it was even more vicious, making the Live Targets wail and beg for mercy.

But the Luo Family Disciples showed no mercy, not treating them as humans at all. Each punch was more violent than the last, without the slightest hesitation.

The former eldest young master of the Luo Family, Luo Zheng, was also in the group of Live Targets. Because of his special status, many people sought him out, attacking him with wicked smiles.

Luo Zheng did not resist; he only used his hands to protect his vital points, responding with a deadpan expression and calm composure.

He seemed to have long since become accustomed to this kind of devastation and insult.

Luo Daonan watched from the side and sighed again in his heart.

It was said that this Luo Zheng had cultivation talent. If he trained well, he could have entered the Green Feather Sect and become the Luo Family's pillar of support.

Unfortunately, in the internal struggles of Mortals, his talent had been completely buried, and he could only end up as a Live Target in the Martial Arts Hall.

Luo Daonan couldn't help but wonder how many similar situations occurred in this native world.

Was it that cultivation Geniuses were truly so rare that a Family could only produce one in decades,

or were far too many Geniuses buried, or even slaughtered because of jealousy?

‘The world of these bottom-tier Mortals is no brighter than the world of Cultivators; it might even be darker.

‘No wonder Cultivators often seek remote places to build Sects and Families, unwilling to be tainted by the vulgarity of the Mortal world. They probably fear their own descendants falling into such a state.’

The various things happening in the Stone City Luo Family made Luo Daonan think more deeply about the native society.

Just then, a voice suddenly rang out at the entrance of the Martial Arts Hall. A few people walked in quickly, and a lackey shouted:

“The Young Family Head has arrived!”
