379: Ye Hei, who was disliked by others

The Xuanhuan World has a very cliché Trial mode.

Gravity Trial.

There are many scenarios.

For example, a hundred-step staircase, a winding mountain road, or perhaps just a short path.

Regardless of the form, the core of the test is always two things:

Physical Body strength and willpower.

Anyone familiar with Xuanhuan would curse this setting as cliché and this Trial as simple.

Unfortunately, although Wan Lin was not a novice, this was truly his first time seeing a mountain that integrated the Trial and the Legacy.

There were no other distracting thoughts in his mind, only the firm resolve to move upward.

Step by step, his body grew stiffer, yet he remained extremely determined.

Continuously, ceaselessly ascending.

“Wait, this isn’t right... this isn’t right...”

The higher he went, the greater the pressure Wan Lin felt.

He felt as if his bones were about to be crushed.

When he reached a large rock, he dared not proceed further.

Because even if he only slightly wiggled his toes now, the pressure on his body felt like it would multiply, as if the next moment he would be flattened into a meat patty.

“This damned place was designed for the Yao Race!”

Wan Lin only now realized the crucial issue.

Damn it, the physical quality of the Yao Race is completely different from that of the Human Race.

The vast majority of the Yao Race possess stronger physiques Innate, with the power passed down through generations of ancestors flowing in their Bloodline, something the Human Race cannot compare to.

If even the Yao Race cannot confidently ascend the first layer, what about him, a member of the Human Race?

“No way, I’m not going to collapse right at the entrance of the Trial, am I? I haven't even gotten the first reward yet!”

Wan Lin looked up and suddenly realized that Saint Emperor Mountain appeared much taller than when he viewed it from afar; the mountain path seemed endless... Burial Emperor Star.

In the wilderness outside the Ancient Desolate Forest.

This stretch of wilderness was extraordinarily vast, even larger than the area known to players within the Prison Land.

However, the terrain was uniformly monotonous, with little vegetation; only lonely winds blew across the yellow sand, and one could often see sandstone boulders of various shapes.

As well as various Spirit Beasts and Yao Beasts lurking beneath the yellow sand.

This place was fraught with danger, and ordinary Cultivators rarely set foot here.

Only the Ancient Clan would use this place as Trial Grounds for their family Disciples, allowing them to travel and fight in the wilderness.

Jian Wanzhong, the young master of the Jian Family, holding the family's inherited jian xie sword, entered the wilderness with four Guards; it was originally a normal travel Trial.

But three major events occurred during this Trial:

First, there were extraterrestrial visitors in the Ancient Desolate Forest.

Second, there was a Dragon descendant wandering the wilderness.

Third, the Bronze Immortal Palace appeared in the world.

The first two facts were also major events capable of attracting the attention of various major powers, but because the Bronze Immortal Palace was so transcendent, all parties retreated, choosing only to seek the Immortal Palace and not pursue the matters of the extraterrestrial visitors or the Dragon descendant.

Jian Wanzhong then led the group of players to the edge of the wilderness, into a large city established by the Jian Family.

Because the Dragon descendant in the wilderness was acting increasingly recklessly and causing greater damage, Jian Wanzhong did not plan to continue traveling with the players.

He handed the players over to the elders of the Jian Family, asking them to properly settle them.

However... “Young Master, these two people won’t do.”

An elder of the Jian Family scanned the group of players, frowning and shaking his head.

The Jian Family is, after all, a renowned Ancient Clan; it has its own rules, and not just anyone can join the Jian Family.

The two people he pointed out were This Time Bu Ge, who was a golden body statue and showed no potential.

The other was Ye Hei, whose Ancient Desolate Sacred Body everyone knew was a useless physique in the current era, also lacking any potential.

Allowing these two people to join the Jian Family, even if only joining a subordinate Sect affiliated with the Jian Family, would be a bad thing that damages their reputation.

Did they really think the Jian Family was a place where just anyone could enter?

Of course, the more crucial point was that the Jian Family elder responsible for this matter was from the Jian Linran's lineage and was not very fond of Jian Wanzhong.

“This...”

Jian Wanzhong frowned, looked at Ye Hei and This Time Bu Ge, and sighed: “Never mind, you two stay by my side, and I will try to find another way.”

Whether it was giving the golden body statue the potential for autonomous cultivation, or resolving the curse of the Ancient Desolate Sacred Body placed by Heaven and Earth.

None of these things were achievable by him, a mere fifth-rank expert.

What he was thinking now was simply to teach Ye Hei and This Time Bu Ge the Law of survival on the Burial Emperor Star for as long as possible; after that, it would be up to the two of them.

“Young Master.”

The Jian Family elder spoke up again to remind him: “The Master already knows you entered the Immortal Palace, and he also knows you obtained the xuanhuang primordial qi.

“Such a precious treasure, you ought to hand it over.”

Just as Jian Wanzhong was about to speak, This Time Bu Ge immediately retorted from the side:

“Wait, are your Clans this shameless? This is loot that Jian Wanzhong obtained himself, why should he hand it over?”

The other players also started arguing:

“Even if you count others, isn’t Jian Wanzhong your Young Master? I heard he gained the recognition of the jian xie sword, so he should be the Jian Linran; does he need to hand it over too?”

“Hand it over to whom? To you? You aren't trying to embezzle it, are you?”

“No way, I object first, absolutely do not hand it over!”

Listening to the players’ clamor, the Jian Family elder's patience was reaching its limit; he was extremely angry and wanted to punish them.

Just then, a majestic voice drifted over:

“Enough, stop arguing about this matter.”

The Jian Linran wore an apricot-yellow Dao robe, embroidered with Dragon patterns; it resembled an emperor's robe but lacked mortal dust and possessed more elegance, giving him a very immortal and Daoist demeanor.

“Although the xuanhuang primordial qi is precious, it is merely an external object and external force; at best, it can be used to forge more swords and blades.

“Zhong’er, tell me, what is most important in my Jian Family’s Dragon Sword Dao: the Dragon or the Sword?”

Jian Wanzhong hesitated and did not answer immediately.

The Jian Linran frowned and had to answer himself:

“Naturally, it is the Dragon!

“The power of the Divine Dragon is unparalleled in the world; even a Great Emperor may not be able to fight a True Dragon!

“And my Jian Family’s Dragon Sword Dao, as long as one diligently cultivates the Dragon Blood and Dragon Intent, one can gradually transform, even Incarnation into a Dragon, becoming invincible under heaven!

“Compared to the True Dragon, the Sword Dao is but a minor Dao!”

Jian Wanzhong frowned, seemingly wanting to refute, but in the end, he only bowed respectfully and said: “This child has been taught.”

The Jian Linran reached out and stroked his long beard, which genuinely resembled a Dragon whisker, causing the players' eyelids to twitch.

Could it be that the Jian Family’s Legacy, if cultivated to the end, could truly Incarnation into a True Dragon?

But... “Hey, hey, didn’t we arrive via the nine dragons coffin pull? Doesn't that mean nine True Dragons have already died?”

“Shh, that’s a topic you absolutely cannot touch.”

The Jian Linran’s expression became extremely unpleasant. He waved his hand and said:

“Nonsense! Those were definitely not True Dragons!”

Having said that, he looked toward Jian Wanzhong and continued:

“That Dragon descendant’s Bloodline is very pure, and he likely obtained something from the Ancient Desolate Forest. You must personally take action and capture him.

“Remember, even if you encounter other Secret Realms or other Opportunities this time, ignore them all. Your only target is that Dragon descendant.”

Jian Wanzhong nodded: “This child obeys your command.”
