409: Ranking of Strange Flames, number sixty-three

Scorching flames filled the sky, generating continuous high temperatures.

Who knows how much time passed.

The flames slowly dissipated.

Old Potato gasped for air, collapsing onto the ground as if he had just survived a disaster.

Yan Xiao stood in mid-air, exhaling a mouthful of murky air.

Three-colored flames spun around his body.

Old Potato looked at the three-colored flames, his expression strange.

A moment later.

Both of them returned to normal, their spiritual power no longer chaotic.

Yan Xiao landed, retracted his wings, looked at Old Potato, and said:

"My apologies, I didn't control it well and accidentally seized a Fire Seed from you..."

Old Potato looked up at the sky, suddenly feeling exhausted dealing with a Child of Luck.

"It's fine, as long as I'm alive..." "But what's with this Fire Seed? Can Strange Flames be cultivated? If you have just a wisp of Strange Flame, can it be infinitely amplified?"

Old Potato looked at Yan Xiao curiously.

Now both of them possessed the same Strange Flame, which greatly astonished him.

Could such naturally occurring Spiritual Objects actually multiply?

Yan Xiao shook his head and said:

"No, Strange Flames are naturally occurring Spiritual Objects and cannot be artificially created.

"However, the Strange Flame you obtained is somewhat different. This fire is called the 'Creeping Rose Flame,' ranked sixty-three on the Strange Flame Ranking List. Its characteristic is that, like vines blooming, it can split into multiple Fire Seeds and Sub-Fires.

"The Fire Seed can be nourished through a secret technique, subsequently giving birth to new Creeping Rose Flame Sub-Fires, but their intensity is inferior to the Mother Flame, and they cannot split further.

"Similarly, the Mother Flame cannot split infinitely; the number of times it can split varies according to its quality."

Old Potato suddenly realized that the Strange Flame he had obtained was officially called the Creeping Rose Flame, and it was a Strange Flame ranked sixty-three.

He thought for a moment and asked again, "How can I discern its quality?"

Strange Flames are unique, and the knowledge required to analyze them is almost entirely secretly transmitted; Old Potato couldn't know the quality of the Creeping Rose Flame.

Yan Xiao said:

"A Strange Flame is a supreme Treasure by nature; regardless of its rank, it possesses the potential of Grade One.

"The Creeping Rose Flame you currently hold should be Grade Five, but if you refine and cultivate it properly, it can reach Grade One in the future."

Old Potato was overjoyed.

Players currently had to go to great lengths just to get Grade Four Treasures, yet he possessed a Supreme Treasure that could reach Grade One just by cultivating it!

"So, how should I cultivate it?"

Old Potato asked patiently, the previous displeasure about Yan Xiao taking a Fire Seed having vanished.

Yan Xiao explained:

"Take the Creeping Rose Flame Fire Seed I obtained, for example. To turn it into a usable Sub-Fire, I need to seek out various Beast Fires for it to devour.

"Devouring other flames is the most common way for major Strange Flames to evolve. As long as it devours enough and strong enough flames, it will eventually reach Grade One.

"Besides this, some Seniors possess secret, untransmitted methods—Divine Abilities and secret techniques—to cultivate Strange Flames, allowing them to rapidly grow to Grade One.

"Outside of these two methods is the inherent potential of the Strange Flame: if you release it back into the world, it will be protected by Heaven and Earth and gradually grow into Grade One, but this requires an immense amount of time."

Old Potato thought about it. The most suitable method for him seemed to be seeking out Beast Fires to devour.

Not just Beast Fires, but various Spiritual Fires that aren't on the Strange Flame Ranking List yet are different from ordinary flames would also work.

Although he knew it would be a huge undertaking just by thinking about it, the thought of possessing a Grade One Creeping Rose Flame in the future made Old Potato's lips curl into a smile.

The two chatted for a while longer.

Finally, Yan Xiao spoke about his future:

"I plan to continue heading west to the Central Domain to witness the most flourishing place of cultivation on this continent."

Old Potato sighed, "I imagine the scenery there must be extraordinary. In due time, I must also go to the Central Domain to take a look."

Old Potato knew his limitations. With his current strength, he couldn't even navigate the Eastern Domain, and going to the Central Domain would be a death sentence.

Therefore, he didn't propose traveling west with Yan Xiao.

Yan Xiao escorted Old Potato to the edge of the Great Desert before departing westward.

Old Potato traveled back, found a town, realized he was outside the boundaries of Yanwang Prefecture, and that his pursuers shouldn't dare to act rashly, which finally allowed him to relax.

In his mind, he cursed every player who leaked his information.

Afterward, he contacted Murong Shusu and informed her of Yan Xiao's attitude.

Murong Shusu found it unbelievable and couldn't help but ask:

"He truly holds no resentment? He's not angry?"

Old Potato was silent for a moment, recalling Yan Xiao's expression, and explained:

"I think there must be some resentment, and the Three-Year Pact must be a lingering knot in his heart.

"However, times have changed. The Yan Family is gone, the Murong Family is gone, and even the Great Jiang Dynasty is gone.

"And you are a player who usurped the body, even blowing up your own cultivation to restart, so you are no longer Murong Shusu's Physical Body.

"Ultimately, it was just the humiliation of breaking off the engagement. Back then, he was young and impulsive, fighting for his dignity, but now that his Realm has risen, he naturally sees past it.

"The resentment might still exist, but it's hidden in his heart, turning into helplessness, and he has gradually become reconciled."

There was one thing Old Potato didn't mention.

When Yan Xiao heard that Murong Shusu had restarted, his expression changed for an instant.

Old Potato thought that if Murong Shusu hadn't detonated her cultivation early and was still at the Golden Core Realm.

Then the Three-Year Pact might have been fulfilled.

For a Child of Luck like Yan Xiao, once their Realm increases, they look back at those past grudges and simply smile in reconciliation.

Their state of mind and magnanimity are beyond the comprehension of ordinary people.

Murong Shusu was astonished: "He truly reconciled? Truly holds no hatred? Truly has no further designs against me?

"But... how is that possible?"

Murong Shusu ranted for a long time, annoying Old Potato, who cursed:

"Yan Xiao has already gone west to the Central Domain. If you are truly worried, why don't you go see for yourself?"

After resolving Murong Shusu's matter, Old Potato contacted Ginger Ore Sword and told him that Yan Xiao did not wish to get involved with the Great Jiang Treasure Vault.

Old Potato initially thought Ginger Ore Sword would be furious, feeling that time had been wasted.

Unexpectedly, the other party merely responded calmly, showing no blame and not discussing the follow-up plan.

"He's probably found a native High-level Cultivator in Yanwang Prefecture to help..."

Old Potato pressed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

The westward exploration team had completely disintegrated.

In the end, the situation in Yanwang Prefecture dictated that players would act separately, each seeking their own Opportunity, rather than grouping together.

Old Potato could already foresee that the subsequent impact of Yanwang Prefecture on players would be huge, and perhaps many High-level Cultivators would come from the west, especially the Buddhist Cultivator Three Sects known to covet the Immortal Dynasty Four Kingdoms.

However... he didn't want to deal with any of this anymore.

Not only did he gain absolutely nothing from this operation, but a player also leaked information about his Strange Flame and his whereabouts, causing him to nearly die in Yanwang Prefecture.

"Whoever wants to lead the players can lead them. I certainly won't take on this thankless job again... Next, I'll focus on finding Beast Fires and Spiritual Fires and figure out how to evolve the Creeping Rose Flame... Speaking of Beast Fires, the Yuyao Kingdom should be the easiest place to find them..."
