176: Shining K10 (Part 1)

Backstage at the press conference, Shen Rou stepped forward to straighten his clothes and asked softly, "This is the first time I've seen you so nervous."

Chen Chen smiled. "We are about to witness history. How can I not be nervous?"

"Go for it." Shen Rou lightly patted his back.

Chen Chen took a deep breath, accepted the shining k10 from Shen Rou's hand, walked through the slightly dim corridor, and stepped forward.

That was his stage.

"Thank you very much for attending our Red Star new product launch, and thank you to all the star fans watching the live broadcast."

"Thank you all!"

Walking onto the stage, Chen Chen first bowed slightly to the audience to show his gratitude.

Not many audience members were invited this time, only a little over a thousand people.

There were quite a few media reporters and guests present. This time, Red Star not only invited news media from the Digital Industry but also all the mainstream media they could invite.

Red Star even specifically invited some foreign media outlets.

In addition to traditional media, Red Star also invited many self-media personalities this time, who are essentially Digital Industry bloggers.

People like Dabai, Ji Feibai, and Old Fish all received invitations.

This is why many people were curious earlier: it was clearly just a regular Shine mid-range phone launch, so why invite so many media reporters? Did Red Star have money to burn?

"In April of this year, we released the brand-new generation of Xingyao OS 4.0. As of now, the rollout to all our Red Star Mobile Phones has been completed. Tell me, is our Xingyao OS 4.0 easy to use?"

"Easy to use!"

"Smooth!"

Led by the Atmosphere Team, the mood immediately reached a small climax.

"The original intention behind founding the Shining Brand was to bring consumers products that were sufficiently honest in price and excellent in quality."

"As of yesterday, the sales volume for all models under our Shining Brand has exceeded 50 million units!"

"Many people say, 'Didn't Shine's sales come solely from low prices?'"

"Here, I want to correct a common misconception: low prices do not equal low quality. Our Shining Brand insists on making high-quality mobile phones that are honest in price and touch people's hearts."

"The theme of this press conference is 'Dare to Challenge Above Your Class.' Before this event, many media friends asked me, 'What is the Shining Brand challenging? Your mid-to-low-end market is already quite large, and your phones sell well, so why try to create a product that challenges the flagships?'"

"In my opinion, this is simply due to the stereotype left by our Shining Brand's budget phones."

"I have always believed that the product determines the brand, not the other way around!"

"As long as our product is good, and as long as our star fans approve."

"Before formally introducing our mobile phone, I would like to first introduce Red Star's latest 64-bit octa-core processor, the soaring c1!"

"The soaring c1 utilizes the latest Zhuifeng Architecture. Four of the eight cores have a main frequency of 1.8 GHz, and the other four have a main frequency of 1.2 GHz, allowing it to balance both battery life and performance."

Soon, the screen behind Chen Chen displayed all the performance parameters of the soaring c1: based on TSMC's latest 20-nanometer process technology, 8 cores and 8 threads, supporting dual-channel flash memory.

It supports a maximum running memory of dual-channel 4GB. The base frequency of the integrated GPU is 480 MHz, the boost frequency is 520 MHz, and it supports a maximum resolution of 1920*1080 WQXGA.

The design of the soaring c1 uses the currently mainstream big-LITTLE core architecture. Except for MediaTek, who is still foolishly using the same architecture and frequency for all eight cores, other manufacturers use the big-LITTLE design, which allows for power saving while releasing performance.

"As you can see, our soaring c1 uses a 64-bit design. So, what exactly is 64-bit?"

"A 64-bit processor is one that can process 64 bits, or 8 bytes, of data at once. A 32-bit processor can only handle 32 bits, or 4 bytes, of data at once. Therefore, when processing an instruction that is 128 bits long, a 32-bit processor requires four instructions, while ours only requires two."

"In other words, our 64-bit processor is twice as fast as a 32-bit processor!"

In reality, Chen Chen was talking about theoretical values, which are difficult to achieve in practice.

It is true that 64-bit is significantly faster than 32-bit, with an overall performance improvement of around 40%.

"Before creating the shining k10, we kept asking ourselves: what exactly is the budget phone of the user's dreams?"

"In fact, the answer to this question isn't found within our company. We should spend more effort listening to the users' voices and hearing what everyone wants."

"We conducted extensive interviews. After receiving this information, the pressure on us was immense. Let's all take a look at a street interview video we made with users."

Chen Chen walked to the side of the screen, pressed the page-turner pen, and the interview video began to play on the large screen.

"I focus on two main issues: one is having sufficiently long battery life—I don't want to have to charge it shortly after using it. The other is that it just needs to operate without lagging."

"I want a slightly higher resolution, and preferably a higher camera pixel count."

"I hope the phone is a bit more durable. Modern plastic phone bodies get scratched easily. If possible, I'd prefer a metal or glass casing."

"I think the camera is the most important thing, as I usually enjoy taking photos."

"A bigger screen, for example, for watching videos and having stronger entertainment features."

"It would be great if it had a metal casing. I don't like glass or plastic casings; they break too easily."

"I think having more memory is quite important, and then the metal casing."

"I hope the phone isn't too thick, but it must be durable. Durability is key."

"My priority is fast charging—the faster, the better."

"For us girls, the photography and beauty features are probably what meet our needs best."

"I think fingerprint recognition is the most useful feature. Phones with fingerprint recognition are too expensive right now. I hope it can be under 2,000 [yuan]."

"Around 1,500 [yuan]."

"Preferably not exceeding 2,000 [yuan]."

"I find the 1,700 [yuan] price point quite acceptable."
