153: Chapter 152 Parting on Unhappily
Chapter 153: Parting on Bad Terms
Seeing the time displayed by the Eye of Omniscience, Byron nodded slightly.
Only two and a half months? He could afford to wait that long.
After all, entering that world was three years away; there was more than enough time.
And most importantly, after the Eye of Omniscience finished analyzing the spell, it also conveniently transmitted the analysis experience to him.
In this way, he saved an unknown amount of time in building templates and familiarizing himself with the spell; he would only need to use it a few times to master it.
For the remaining time, his task was to focus all his efforts on modifying that ancient potion recipe.
If there was enough time, he was confident he could become a Limit Wizard Apprentice before entering that other world, adding another layer of insurance for his future actions.
After clarifying his subsequent arrangements, Byron felt at ease and walked out of the room, feeling refreshed.
Pushing open the door, just like when he had first left the Laboratory in the morning, Daphne was already standing at the doorway with a smile, waiting for him.
Seeing this, a smile unconsciously appeared on the corner of Byron's mouth.
Seeing Byron come out, Daphne said excitedly, "Master, I have prepared everything needed. How soon can we enter the Laboratory?!"
Seeing Daphne's excited expression, Byron waved his hand, "Soon. Once I finish handling that matter, I will be entering the Laboratory for closed-door cultivation again."
Having said that, Byron teased, "This closed-door cultivation will take a long time. Is Daphne mentally prepared?"
"You know, once we enter the Laboratory, we won't be able to come out again."
Daphne, however, shook her head with a determined little face, "Master, I am already prepared. As long as I can stay with Master, Daphne isn't afraid of how long it takes!"
Byron patted Daphne's head, "Good, I admire that courage in you, Daphne!"
After instructing Daphne to purchase some Materials needed for the experiments, Byron walked out of the Laboratory and headed towards the Grey Dome Restaurant.
Before returning, Byron had contacted Klevin, asking him to arrange a meeting with the leader of the Blood Pact Alliance at the Grey Dome Restaurant to discuss purchasing the quota.
At the Grey Dome Restaurant, Byron walked into the private room.
At this moment, there were only two people in the private room. One was, of course, Klevin, and the other was a woman with a beautiful appearance, but possessing a pair of phoenix eyes.
This woman sat in her seat with a calm expression, gently stroking the kitten in her arms, forming a stark contrast with the anxious Klevin.
Seeing Byron enter, a brilliant smile instantly bloomed on Klevin's face.
He stood up from his chair in a flash and walked quickly towards Byron.
"Byron, you've finally arrived. Let me introduce you; this is the leader of our Blood Pact Alliance, Freya Vane."
After saying this, Klevin also bowed respectfully to Freya and said, "Leader, this is Byron..."
Byron didn't say anything, but Freya spoke first, "No need for introductions. I know him, Byron Augustus."
As she spoke, Freya raised her phoenix eyes and looked at Byron with interest, "You are the one who led us all around in circles at the Wizard Settlement and helped Dylan successfully obtain the origin crystal essence."
"You are even the Disciple of Wizard Isolde, proficient in Potionology, and helped Dylan successfully refine the origin crystal essence into a mental power qualitative change potion."
Having said this, Freya slowly stood up, walked elegantly towards Byron, stopped in front of him, and looked at Byron with eyes full of smiles and appreciation.
"Byron, I think highly of you. Why don't you leave the Fallen Sun Council and join our Blood Pact Alliance? I can guarantee that after I become an Official Wizard, you will be the leader of the Alliance."
"This is one of the top Wizard Apprentice organizations in the academy. Can you imagine the immense power it holds? Moreover, it can help you alleviate the burden of becoming an Official Wizard. Why don't you consider it?"
When these words came out, Klevin was stunned. Freya was actually using such conditions to win Byron over, even going so far as to let him succeed her as the leader of the Alliance.
Then what did all his running around through thick and thin count for?!
Did it mean he had too much energy, or that he had nothing better to do?!
Klevin also looked at Byron nervously, praying incessantly that Byron would absolutely not agree.
If he agreed, all his efforts would be in vain!
But Byron's reaction caught both of them off guard.
Byron looked directly at Freya in front of him with calm eyes and asked in a flat voice, "Are you done? Can we talk about the quota now?"
"If you don't want to talk about the quota, then I'm leaving."
Byron's words were something neither of them had expected, and for a moment, neither of them could snap out of it.
Seeing this, Byron did not hesitate at all and turned to walk out.
In his heart, he was speechless. If she wanted a free ride, just say she wanted a free ride. Why spout nonsense about thinking highly of him?
Besides, look at the state the Blood Pact Alliance was in now. She was still putting on airs here; she really treated everyone else like fools.
It had always been him, Byron, getting a free ride from others; never the other way around!
It was simply wishful thinking!
As for whether this would offend Freya or the Blood Pact Alliance?
Byron indicated that he was not worried about this. He was already a Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice, and soon he would become a Limit Wizard Apprentice.
By then, his strength would be on par with Freya's, and it was hard to say who would be afraid of whom.
As for the Blood Pact Alliance?
This organization was now like a clay bodhisattva crossing a river—barely able to save itself—did it still have the energy to deal with him?
Even if they really had the energy, don't forget that Byron also had an organization behind him, even if Byron's relationship with them wasn't deep.
But if a member of the Council was bullied and the Council didn't take action, then the Council would really lose face.
Furthermore, taking a step back, even if the worst-case scenario occurred, Byron wasn't worried. Don't forget that this was the academy, not the outside world.
As long as Byron didn't leave the academy, he didn't have to worry about being targeted by their underhanded tactics.
Seeing Byron turn and leave, Klevin and Freya finally snapped out of it.
Freya was instantly angered by Byron's attitude. Her towering chest heaved continuously, and the kitten in her arms was almost suffocated.
Seeing Freya in this state, Klevin also kept his eyes on his nose and his heart on his nose, not saying a word, but secretly laughing in his heart.
Seeing that Byron really wanted to leave, Freya took a few deep breaths and shouted at Klevin.
"What are you still standing there for? He's about to leave, why aren't you chasing after him?!"
"If Byron really leaves, you don't need to come back either. You're truly useless, only knowing how to stand there and watch!"
Hearing this, Klevin's eye twitched. He really wanted to curse.
But his reason told him that enduring for a moment brings calm, and taking a step back opens up a vast sky.
He still needed Freya's help to compete in the Blood Pact Alliance, and tearing off the mask with her now would undoubtedly be self-destructive.
Therefore, Klevin really swallowed this anger, looking at Freya with a respectful expression.
"Rest assured, Leader, I will definitely chase Byron back!"
Saying this, Klevin hurried out of the private room.
Seeing this, Freya's expression looked a little better, but she still sat back in her seat with a gloomy face.
