78: Chapter 78 Solution

Byron watched Dylan, waiting for him to speak.

Dylan did not hold back and immediately explained what he was worried about.

"Byron, it has been some time since the organizations that set out to conquer the brood nest departed, and I imagine they will be returning before long."

"Some of these organizations may have succeeded in obtaining what they wanted, but it is more likely that most will come back empty-handed. Given this, anything could happen."

At this point, Dylan looked up at Byron with a solemn expression: "So, you should understand what I mean."

Byron nodded silently; he certainly understood the meaning behind Dylan's words.

Moreover, he had long anticipated this situation, but he had never found a good solution.

After all, such things could not be changed by his will alone.

It was a situation of too many wolves and too little meat.

The situation was destined to happen; it was unavoidable.

Even if he threw out his own reward, those two portions of mental power qualitative change potion, it would be of no use; it might even attract more prying eyes and only make the situation worse.

But at this moment, Byron suddenly laughed and looked at Dylan: "President, since you put it this way, there must be a solution, right?"

If Dylan didn't have a solution, he wouldn't have brought this up with him.

Hearing this from Byron, a look of admiration appeared on Dylan's face.

Being able to grasp the meaning of his words, think calmly, and react immediately made him appreciate the person in front of him even more.

Dylan nodded: "Byron, whether it is because you are a member of the Council or because we are involved in this matter, from any perspective, we certainly cannot just stand by and watch."

"Therefore, I have two solutions here, and I don't know which one you will choose."

Regardless of Dylan's motives, his frankness and the solutions he offered at this moment increased Byron's favor toward him.

"Please, President, enlighten me."

Dylan held up two fingers: "First, we will secretly leak a little information and tell those people about our harvest."

"In this way, our harvest alone totals eighteen vials."

"With such a huge harvest, I think it should lead them to believe that we have already taken everything, and thus, the attention on you will be greatly reduced."

After finishing this method, without waiting for Byron to speak, Dylan continued to explain his second method.

"The second is for you to come with us and move into the Fallen Sun Council Wizard Settlement."

"We will settle you in properly, and with the Council there, they will not be able to affect you before those organizations break through the Council's defenses."

After stating these two methods, Dylan stopped speaking and waited quietly for Byron's answer.

When Loris and Ivan heard Dylan's solutions, they both mentally gave him a thumbs up.

Both methods were good, but in their hearts, they hoped that Byron would choose the second solution.

It wasn't that the first one was bad, but the second one better aligned with their interests and offered greater gains.

Because that way, not only would Byron owe them a favor, but it would also further tie him to their ship.

No matter how you look at it, the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

After pondering for a moment, Byron looked up at the three of them and said with a smile: "The two solutions the President thought of are both very good and can solve the subsequent trouble, especially the second one."

Hearing Byron say this, the three of them were delighted.

But Byron's next sentence left the three of them feeling somewhat helpless and sighing.

"However, the second method is truly too much trouble for you, President. I feel truly ashamed and uneasy."

Hearing this, Dylan understood the implication in Byron's words. Although he was a bit disappointed, the smile on his face remained unchanged.

"Alright, since you have made up your mind, I won't say anything more."

Dylan said seriously: "We will gradually release the information later to minimize the impact on your side as much as possible."

"However, this does not mean you are completely safe. You must still be very careful yourself. Try not to go out during this period if you can."

Byron readily accepted Dylan's advice and said gratefully: "Thank you so much, President. I really..."

Dylan laughed heartily, appearing indifferent: "We are all members of the Council, and you have helped us so much; how could we just stand by and watch?"

At this point, Dylan's eyes suddenly became cunning.

"I just hope that when you become a full-fledged Potion Master in the future, you will still recognize us seniors."

"At that time, if we ask you for Potion Making, just don't refuse us."

Byron hurriedly waved his hand: "President, you shouldn't say that. Even without this matter, I am a member of our Council; if you have trouble, how could I not help?"

After chatting for a while longer, the three of them said their goodbyes and left, not staying any longer.

After sending the three off, Byron sat back down. The smile on his face vanished instantly, and he became expressionless.

He certainly knew that Dylan was right; the second solution was better than the first.

But the problem was that he had too many secrets, which were too enticing to others. Moving to live right under someone else's nose was simply too dangerous.

So, after weighing the options, Byron chose the first solution.

Furthermore, as Dylan said, as long as he didn't go out for the next period, what could those organizations do to him?

Even if they went crazy and wanted to rob him by force within the Wizard Settlement, the Magic Array outside his residence would be able to hold them off for a while.

This delay would be enough for the Wizard Settlement to react and allow him to prepare himself as well.

Moreover, he was not powerless; if anyone really wanted to try that, he would surely give them a big surprise.

...

After leaving Byron's residence, Dylan and his group did not delay and began making various arrangements to fulfill their promise.

As for the subsequent situation, just as Dylan and Byron had anticipated, the attention of the vast majority of wizards in the settlement was drawn to Dylan and his group.

As for Byron's place, only a few stragglers remained keeping watch.

But their persistence was destined to be meaningless.

Because after Dylan and his group left, Byron made up his mind not to take a single step out of his residence for the time being.

Even if he needed to buy something or exchange points, he would ask Gray or Eliza for help.

In this way, seeing that they could not find any Breakthrough here at Byron's, and with the time until the end of the mission drawing closer, those people continuously chose to give up and left the settlement to accumulate points.

In the end, only Locke remained keeping watch.

As for why he had such perseverance, it was entirely because the sunk cost was too great; he couldn't bring himself to give up now.

Moreover, he knew clearly in his heart that even if he started accumulating points now, it was destined to be too late; it was better to burn his bridges and give it one last desperate try.

If he really managed to wait for Byron, he would have enough magic stones to pay the penalty for failing the mission.
