29: Chapter 29 The Time Has Arrived

Upon hearing this, Byron raised an eyebrow slightly; he had originally thought he would only be able to sell them for five magic stones each.

He hadn't expected the price to be two magic stones higher than he had anticipated. Not bad, not bad at all; it hadn't been a waste of all his trouble.

Seeing that Byron remained silent, the old man, fearing he was dissatisfied, hurriedly explained.

"Customer, this is already the highest price. Even if you go to other shops, they might not even be able to offer such a high price."

Byron certainly knew the old man was telling the truth, so he didn't press for a higher price and readily agreed.

Seeing Byron nod, the old man felt both happy and distressed.

He was happy because he had successfully purchased this batch of potions, but distressed because his heart ached at the high acquisition price.

But the transaction wasn't complete yet, so the old man didn't dare delay. He ordered his young apprentice to fetch the magic stones while asking.

"Customer, may I have a look at the goods first?"

Byron naturally wouldn't refuse this request and immediately took out the remaining eleven vials of potions, placing them on the counter.

Seeing this, the old man hurriedly stepped forward, widening his eyes as he examined them one by one.

While the old man was inspecting them, the young apprentice also walked out with the magic stones.

Under the old man's impatient gesture, the young apprentice handed the bag of magic stones to Byron.

After taking them, Byron naturally opened the bag and began to inspect them.

Seeing that there were eighty-four magic stones and no other issues, Byron immediately turned and left.

By the time the old man noticed, Byron had already walked out the door, and the old man hurriedly shouted.

"Customer, if you have such good items in the future, you must bring them to me. I will definitely give you a satisfactory priceβ€”"

Byron heard the old man's shout, but whether or not he would bring them in the future was a matter for later.

After leaving the shop, Byron didn't delay and sped all the way, rushing toward the academy's lift.

On the other side, inside the shop, the old man held the twelve vials of potions in his hands and walked cautiously toward the backyard.

Entering the backyard, the old man walked straight into a room.

"Why was your apprentice running back and forth so anxiously just now? Did something happen?"

A voice suddenly sounded in the room. Upon hearing it, the old man's face showed no panic, clearly having long known of this person's existence.

The old man looked at the Tall Man sitting in the room, placed the potions in his hands before him, and recounted what had just happened.

After finishing, the old man said with regret: "It's a pity I couldn't trick that person into coming to the backyard; otherwise, our Family would have gained another Potion Master."

The Tall Man was also somewhat remorseful: "Indeed, and a Potion Master capable of crafting potions to assist with Meditation at that."

"With this, the younger generation in our Family with decent Aptitude could significantly increase their Meditation speed."

"Perhaps, our Family might even produce an Official Wizard in the future to lead us to that dazzling pearl."

"Instead of being stuck rolling in this mud pit for our entire lives like us."

As he spoke, the look of unwillingness on the Tall Man's face grew more intense, as if he were recalling some sad past.

The old man understood the Tall Man's difficulties and comforted him: "It's fine. As long as he continues to come here to sell potions, we will have plenty of opportunities."

"We just need to think of a good way to make him willingly craft potions for us."

"After all, unless a wizard reveals it themselves, no one knows what kind of methods they possess. We shouldn't end up making an enemy instead of securing the person."

Subsequently, the two engaged in a discussion that lasted the entire night on how to subdue Byron.

But until dawn, the two had not come up with a good plan.

While the two were discussing, Byron had successfully boarded the lift, returned to the academy, and arrived at his dormitory.

After returning, Byron resumed his previous life, constantly traveling between those few fixed locations.

It was just that sometimes, he would occasionally go down to sell potions, exchanging them for magic stones to maintain his livelihood.

Of course, Byron wasn't stupid enough to only sell at that one shop; naturally, the more dispersed, the better.

For instance, he might go to a shop on the east side of the city to sell potions today, and tomorrow he might go to a shop on the west side.

Even the intervals between selling potions were not fixed; it might be a few days, or it might be over a month.

In any case, Byron did whatever he could to hide his tracks and ensure his safety.

Furthermore, Byron would absolutely never set foot in the Inner City, where those wizard families were located.

In the academy, during this time, he tried his best to use magic stones wherever possible, avoiding touching the balance on his payment card so he wouldn't be unable to pay when needed.

After all, items sold directly by the academy, whether they were knowledge, wizard artifacts, etc., were all paid for uniformly with the payment card and did not accept magic stones.

And if you had magic stones, you could only use them after topping up your payment card.

This made Byron curse the academy more than once for being rigid and inflexible.

Just like that, time passed by unknowingly for another few months.

During this time, Gray finally succeeded in promoting to a wizard apprentice, shaking off those complicated and arduous tasks, and began to enjoy some leisure.

Although he still had to work, it wasn't the day-and-night grind as before. Moreover, Edgar Thorne had also handed over the three free pieces of knowledge he had initially promised to Gray.

Thus, Gray officially embarked on the path of learning alchemy, becoming an assembly line worker in the Alchemy Workshop.

Besides this, a major event occurred within the trio.

That was, Eliza successfully mastered an apprentice potion and began learning more potions and advanced knowledge, preparing to become an official Potion Master.

When Byron heard this news, he realized that the fact he could engage in Potion Making could be revealed.

However, even so, Byron decided to stay steady and endure for a while longer, so that his revelation wouldn't seem so abrupt and would appear more natural.

That day, after finishing his basic classes, Byron returned to his dormitory as usual and walked into the basement.

A moment later, Byron walked out of the basement.

And when he came out, there was surprisingly an extra vial of silvery-white potion in his hand.

It was exactly the deep meditation potion.

Byron looked at the potion in his hand, which he had deliberately lowered in purity, and muttered to himself.

"It has been over a month; it should be safe to reveal it. Moreover, I have deliberately lowered the purity of this potion, so there shouldn't be any issues."

Since he had made up his mind, Byron would no longer have any hesitation.

Carrying this vial of potion, he walked toward the location of the Potion Dept. Mentor Isold Ross's spire in the experimental area.

As long as he passed this final step of confirmation by Isolde, his potion sales could be brought into the open and conducted legitimately.

And he would no longer need to continue sneaking around to sell potions below.

In this way, he could cut ties with the things below; after all, one who walks by the river often will eventually get their shoes wet.
